Wonderful review and video. 😊👍🏽. I do look forward to holding this razor in my hands as soon as possible. The safety aspect of the razor which you confirmed is the attraction. Well done.

11:02 Synthetic brushes are not eco-friendly. Plastic, which the synthetic brush bristles are made from, is not biodegradable. It follows then that the most eco-friendly option is second-hand natural hair brushes, such as badger, boar, or horse, but then, in the case of badger, badger brushes have to be produced in the first place for those to continue to be available, and there is concern about the wellbeing of badgers. I would imagine it's similar for boar and possibly even for horse. Plastic handles are another problem. All handles should be made of (sustainable) wood or metal (or other biodegradable materials, if they exist for shaving brush handles). I wonder if soft bristles made from a plant will ever become available. And no, I'm not talking about bioplastic (bio-based plastic), because that's still plastic and still not biodegradable. Another thing to note, besides the brushes, is all the other accessories we use that still contribute to consumption of plastic. You mention eco-friendly soap packaging, and correctly note the futility of touting recyclability of plastic, but the fact remains that many soaps are still in plastic tubs and people are promoting them all the time... plus after- and pre-shave products in plastic, plastic razor blade packaging (à la Feather), plastic (PTFE) coatings on blades, plastic in the packaging for razors, lots of people use plastic washers for their razors... Maybe I should listen to the podcast episode. I think the key point I'm making here, besides the immediate response about synthetic brushes, is that while DE shaving is (at least from a surface glance) inherently more eco-friendly (or I guess I should say less harmful) than cartridge shaving (insane plastic waste) and electric (e-waste), and being eco-friendly is touted as an advantage of DE razors, the community is not necessarily more eco-conscious, as evidenced by the community's choice of accessories. The companies will respond to demand, so ultimately it's up to us to change. It's good to win other people over by promoting eco-friendliness, but ultimately it's a bit hollow when we (or at least many of us) are making up for our inherent lower consumption of plastic (no cartridges) by instead buying loads of brushes with plastic handles and possibly also plastic bristles, soaps in plastic tubs and blades in plastic packaging with plastic coatings on them. Okay, maybe it's still a lower plastic consumption overall, but we've a long way to go.

I've been using the Genesis oneblade for a couple of weeks now and i now love it and wouldn't go back to DE razors and now oneblade have their own blades the HD carbon ceramic coated blade's theses are cheaper than the featherlight blades sharper and last longer apx 5-6 shaves i don't think it's an issue when you say the pivot is pointless around the upper lip it's not practicality useless it just doesn't need to be used it doesn't mean thats a negative issue

Wholly Kaw scents are awful. Their soap base might be good but what's the point of shaving with a product that smells like a tropical drink. I was gifted one of their soaps and immediately gave it away.

You don't need to load the brush that much, just wasting soap. I literally load the brush for 5 seconds at the most and bowl lather the perfect amount for a three pass shave. Cella is great lather soap.

In these Inflationary Times. HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO DO IT MY FRIENDs Use any hard Bar Soap, Tallow or Glycerin based Soaps out there? To fit in any Mugs or Cups? Like" (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arko Sticks. Just to name a few of them?) You can mix and match your old Soaps? Cut up the soap on a paper plate, pour your soap chunks with the shavings from the Paper Plate into a Mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, and microwave your soap. For about a minute or so? Place a paper plate under your mug in case it bubbles out of your cup? If it foams up, STOP. The water keeps it from burning itself up. (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy, does it? Let cool don't want to Crack the Mugs or Cups you're using? (You just want it to Congeal in your Mug or Cup') it is very hot and watery'''''. let it cool in PLACE'. after it cools, put it in a Sunny Window, until the Soap hardens? When using your soaps, use Dry Brush Less Water. It thickens the soap, making it easier to use on your face. Save your Money, spend it on your wife, don't listen to the shave Mafia. It saves me time and Money. Wheelchair Larry Happy New Year. Your Mileage may vary?

@@sterlingcampbell2116 Sorry Sterling, your knowledge of chemistry is superficial. The alkalis in soap remove the oils and fats on the surface of the hair allowing the water to enter. They also change the pH of the hair, opening the cell walls so that osmosis can occur. Just wetting the hair does neither. If you choose to respond, I will provide you with the citations.

I will say that the way I use that I learned from another shave guy is that you want this more watery and not use a brush. Simply putting about an almond size drop on your wet clean hands and anb rub them really fast. It will get foamy then you apply to your against the grain up. I was skeptical, but tried it yesterday and it provided me the first time I was not irritated with the Arc shaver on my face. Results will always vary but maybe he was right.
