Jay. Thanks for the video. It’s quite informative for people to consider all aspects before maybe getting over their head. My question is about the cool LED overhead lighting on your garage ceiling. What’s the brand please? Thanks again!

The goal was to help someone understand it’s not just the “monthly payment” you need to consider to see if you can afford a car. The lights are FERUERW brand on Amazon - runs about $70 for the 5 hexagon I have 2 of those. Even with dark walls it’s enough light to work on the cars and even film videos.

Yes I think its reasonable as well, and very much in line with other similar options like a bmw M car. I think this car does not depreciate as much as a Porsche Cayman would have. The C8 remains to be a best value sports car in my opinion!

Is a supercar an investment or a fun means of transportation that gives you value you can't put a price on? If you're in it for just the money, you're in the wrong game.

Agreed, but the goal of this video was to explain its not just the “monthly payment” someone needs to consider its more than that. Also, I have zero regrets on spending/losing money on something I love. Thats why i even said I’m already considering my next “fun” car.

I got a 2023 fully loaded with 2800k miles for 66k mint z51 and almost every option you can think of from a private one owner, a older gentleman who did take a bath on this for him but if you patient you can find a good deal. He babied the car but just couldn’t get in and out of it well so he just couldn’t drive it much… my insurance only went up 780 for the year but I do have two other cares. Seemed reasonable to me…

Sorry brother but i tink problem you have is 2 and problem 1 is the way you talking is you just talking about the money and not other factors like you had a fun time with the car and enjoy the almost 1 year and the problem 2 is you are still poor and you need to get up more levels and get more rich and then when you buy your super car you don’t even think about the money you lose because you don’t even tink the way you think now. Wishing you luck

I never tried to claim to be rich or wealthy. I am a first generation immigrant who started here driving Uber/Lyft in 2018. I hope to be in a situation where an $85K car I can park and not care about its value. If you are in that situation, Good for you but most people are not. Lastly, the video obviously was for information. Never said I regret it or that I wouldn’t suggest doing All I said was the cost should be considered before buying Appreciate your input though. Happy Holidays

Hey man! I like your videos. Just my $0.02: When we're 85, we both know that we would rather have gotten the sports car than gotten an extra 15-20 grand!! 😂Don't sweat it. Yeah, you could save that money, but could you really enjoy it as much if you waited another 20 years? Go on any of the corvette forums, and you'll see dudes saying, "I like the car, but I can barely get in and out of it because of my bad knee! I'm going to trade it in for a Corolla." We don't want to work so hard, only to not enjoy the fruits of our labor. Clearly, you're a smart guy and prudent with your money. But as long as your basic needs are met, and you can still save 20% for retirement - spend your money how you like! Some people will buy expensive camera for their photography hobbies, and we buy cars. The car gives us an unforgettable experience though, so it's not just a thing. The point of money is not just to get more of it, but to afford us the things we desire. Can't take it with you when you're dead anyways! Besides, the C8 is cheap compared to Porsches and Lambos 😂Enjoy it brother!

Good points. What bothers me even more is the fact that regardless of mileage. We have to do a transmission fluid change for $1500 or the warranty is void. Look into that. I have the 2024 2LT. But it’s a second car and the insurance (if you shop for Corvette insurance) is very cheap. keep the videos coming😀

To save you from all the headaches of storing your car , just start your car for 15 minutes once a week then you will have no worries and make sure you open your garage door open for the exhaust to escape out. It is a little inconvenience for 15 minutes once a week but your car will last longer and runs smoothly too. Good luck.

I think i figured it out. Starting in 2024 it looks like the stingray and eray cold start at a maximum of around 1500 rpm. The 2020-2023 stingray and eray would cold start at 2000 rpm. That is the reason for the quieter startup. If you compare some cold start videos on youtube from 2020-2023 to 2024-2025 or newer you can identify which year is the 24 or 25. Keep in mind i only found this information by analyzing a lot of different cold starts from videos where people record their tach from the inside. I sound like a ridiculous crazy person but it seems like im the only one who noticed this. I knew my 2025 sounded quieter at least its just the cold start and shouldnt actually be quieter while driving

@JayJafar i created a Corvette forum about it. Just Google search: C8 2024-25 LT2 cold start rpm change and my post should show up. Hopefully we can figure out a way to get it to startup to the 2100 rpm like the older cars. I also included the tachometer cold start from my 2025 as well as a video of someone's 2020 and we can clearly see the rpm revs higher on the 2020.

I live in IN and right before I stop driving my C6 I change my engine oil, and run the Ethanol fuel down to about 1 gal and then fill the car up with non-ethanol fuel and don't need any fuel additives. I don't have a garage so do not use a batter tender, and inflate the tires to their max also. Keep doing the Wave!!
@JayJafar
@JayJafar Ай бұрын
If you are not using a battery tender I would recommend removing the negative terminal or better bringing the battery inside and using a tender. Also important for parking outside is make sure its away from tall grass and you use some sort of rodent repellant spray or tablets. About the wave, the C8 Z06 guys are not waving the Stingrays anymore? I have noticed a few not do it, but it could be unintentional.

@@JayJafar As of the summer of 2023 the area I live in have Ferrel cats that showed. One of the females had a litter fall of 2024. Last count was around 25 cats. So, they are always looking for critters to eat. Matter of fact, I watched one of the adult cats come up to my rear bumper, with the cover on, and clawed my cover. Then sprayed my cover by the exhaust tips, with his ass, then strolled on down the sidewalk. After removing the cover I found claw marks on two spots in the paint, arrrrg!! :( I found yellow coned foam pieces that push into the exhaust tips to keep critters out of the exhaust, so, that is my way of helping to keep critters out of the exhaust system. Some of those Ferrel kittens come around my patio and down by the Vette, but I haven't seen any claw at the cover any more, thank God!

First of all, I’ve never had a car that I cared about getting dirty enough to use all that extreme cleaning. And you can wash your car without getting the cover above the engine bay soaking wet. Any aluminum engine parts that get wet are going to immediately start to oxidize, so try to avoid any water on the engine.

I prefer to use a couple of good quality king sheets instead of a car cover. Don't like a tight fitting elastic cover on the car for months at a time. No need to store with the weight of a full tank on the suspension. Filling the with a quarter of a tank with ethanol free gas is my choice.
@DHenry-cs8up

hey jay have you noticed the 2024-2025 c8 cold starts sound a little quieter than the 2020-2023? i noticed the older models have a much higher pitch growl tone. warm starts are exactly the same. since you been around a lot more c8's than i have at cars shows i was wondering if you noticed this too. i also noticed the 2024-2025 has slightly better mpg so im wondering if they tuned something to make it quieter for that mpg. the first thing that i thought it could have been was the 2022 direct injection change but that did not change the sounds because 2023s still sound really good. recently got my 2025 and im just a little depressed about this.
