Great stuff! the vocal writing was intense. I love Partch and microtonal music and it is amazing that this is a combination! Somehow this reminds me of Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa and his music and tragedy. I would have to do more research and I am trying not to make a direct comparison, but here you have a couple, and scandal, music and art and pain expressed in music. You wrote this as a motet which also echoes. So many layers of interest, it has made a deep impact on me.

2:30 is fire! I appreciate the pentatonic melody. And it returns at 8:30. Often mod performances or drone/ambient have little of that to latch on to. And what is the horizontal strip you play/rub with the mallet? So good!
@IceLocus3 ай бұрын
@@ScottLawrenceLawson Thanks so much! Basically I wanted the pentatonic melody so I could jam along in tune with my spherical tongue drum, so I used a sequence, but then randomized it through the slower parts. That "strip" was my wooden desk, but the contact mic in the Super Sound Urchin picked up any sounds on the desk and fed them through the Eurorack. So of course I had to drag some friction mallets! 😁🎶😎

My goodness, @davidcrossen2382 that's quite the compliment, I'm happy you enjoyed it! 🙏 Tangerine Dream has definitely influenced my music, and this piece directly, specifically with playing with the same melodies with different voices and timing divisions.

Wow this is amazing! The footage is incredible. I love how the tones of color match the music and the contrast of the wave crashing into itself in that beautiful ice blue with the different textures of drones. That really struck me. Also the veins, color, look and videography of that particular flower is so cool. Curious, where is the location of the footage?

The seagulls must have eaten something other than fish and chips. Are you sure there weren't a few circuits and cables in there? While listening, I could really immerse myself in a different synthetic world, every now and then briefly confused as to whether there was an ambulance outside my door or whether it was coming from the loudspeakers. Very varied and well balanced sound palette!
@AGalgonzo7 ай бұрын
... there very nearly was a need for an ambulance, the seagulls have rather sharp beaks and fighting them off from our lunch had risks! Thanks for your comments, appreciated.
