I have a different grinder. What I do before I grind my beans is to wipe the inside of the container with a piece of damp kitchen roll. Not perfect but much better.

I owned this grinder for a couple of years. Cleaned it after every use. It uses a DC motor which died mid-grind after only 2 years of light use. Very disappointed in it.

I've got a better idea. Do the following in the same order as written: - > Call the plumber > Get naked. > Take your French press with you in the bathroom. Yank out as much wet grounds as you can with your bare hands. Smear them all over your body. > Fill your press with some water to catch all of the remaining grounds. Give it a quick swirl and splash 'em down your shower drain. > Fill your press 3 quarters of the total volume with warm/hot water from the shower and give it a few quick pumps to get the coffee oils off of the surface. Don't get carried away with all the pumping. > Get into the shower and clean yourself. By the time you get out, your plumber should be waiting at your doorstep to get your bathroom pipes de-clogged. Et voilà! Not a minute wasted.

My press does not assemble in a way that the bottom disc is solid as in this video. When I assemble the bottom pieces and screw the assembly together the result is three floating pieces rather than a solid press disc as shown.

I use James Hoffman method of medium (not coarse) grind, 65g:1000ml, 4 minutes, stir crust, 5 more minutes, skim with spoon, press. Really changed my cup. The flavor is divine with that method.

Oddly my espresso machine can only handle grind size of 20. I'm going to see if adding one more gram will slow down the dose and make it a tad bit better. As for Pour Over, I have it at 31 and French Press at 35.

a damp spoon, stir the beans, or use a VERY small spray bottle to lightly sprits the beans. i prefer spoon.

this grinder is horrible, to anyone coming to this in 2025 or later, spend some extra and get a better grinder. this grinder takes ages, is horribly inconsistent and uncomfortable to use, beans constantly fall out of the hopper while you grind, it's super super finnicky to dial in grind sizes on, etc. the only nice thing is the container the beans are caught in, but even there, it's comically sized considering how long it takes just to grind 13g of coffee, I would never want to grind enough to fill that container.

the easiest way is leave the lid off so it can dry for a few hours. dump grounds in trash, remove remaining grounds with a cloth, paper towel or water. If you're really anal about grounds in the sink but don't want to wipe out grounds with a cloth, dump rinse water and grounds into a plant, outside, or into another container. I've been rinsing a tiny amount of grounds down the sink for decades with no issue.
