From the dawn of the time if there’s one undisputed fact from the days of the hunter gatherer/cavemen to the days of the modern day professional fighter it’s this: All warriors run.

As an ex amateur boxer, our coach used to make us do knee tuck double unders. The explosive power and flexibility built from that was unbelievable.

Every human should be able to run 5-8 miles at a decent pace. If that’s mind blowing to you you have problems and probably need to get out there and go for a jog. His conditioning comes from those runs plus all the other shit he does. Sparring, bag work, weight room, etc.

I like to warm up with walking for 10-20 minutes. I find I can run 4 miles without being super tired. If I warm up with a simple walk before a run I can run faster & longer comfortably. Then I walk for at least 10 minutes for the cool down. The warm up really does wonders for me.

I'm a Floyd fan, but I’m not a Floyd fan. Some people will get me. His mental fortitude is f’ning incredible.
@michaellopez20703 күн бұрын
Yah I disliked his in ring tactics, turning the back, holding, etc, but I don’t have anything but respect for how he got there and his directness of approach. That gym would have him doing full on fights with unlimited rounds till someone got kod. That sort of immediate situation very quickly cuts fluff and makes a person to do whatever it takes to win vs doing it for the fans or whatever other abstract thing. It’s extremely rare a guy stays disciplined/hungry as he continued to do in his career despite being the best.

I’m curious what the rope looks like as it travels underfoot. Is it flat sliding along the ground? Or does it bounce and wave? If so, it may be thin but take up more space as a result. A slo-mo video of this would be great.

It's the reason why during the 12th round, he'd still seem energetic while the opponent seems worn out.

i was gonna say damn that's hard to do but then i thought about it and like yea its hard when you work and study but if this was my source of income then of course id be doing that full time like a regular job. staying fit is literally his job so i dont see whats the big deal. whats amazing is that he never lost his love for the sport even after winning millions

Well then u do it why not he makes millions right this is clearly just an excuse u think he didint have to have a sourse of income while coming up his family is trainers but they werent rich
@joelandres42076 күн бұрын
@@Aydenkaye maybe im not good at explaining things, maybe i didn't make myself clear, maybe you missed the point, or maybe you're an idiot. But i guess what im trying to say is him waking up early in the morning to go for a run is no different than someone getting up at that exact same time to go to their regular 8 hour shift or when he goes for a run after a party is no different than going to work right out of a cookout with the homies. its the same shit in a different toilet, just being in shape is basically his profession

Now imagine, a heavyweight who ran the Same amount of miles. A heavyweight who was one of the shortest heavyweights with one of the shortest reach ran this amount and still managed to weigh in at the weight of a heavyweight while running the same amount of miles as Floyd. That fighter would be Rocky Marciano. He ran like Floyd, and punched a 300 pound Heavy Bag that only the likes of George Foreman would duplicate in training.

That's what separates skipping from most forms of exercises - there are infinite variations of the same step simply by varying speed, rhythm, range of motion, etc.
