I'm right there with you, Louise...this episode was intense and I can't wait to see what happens in the season finale (tomorrow as of writing this comment). My only quibble is that Melian was referred to as "a Valar" which is grossly inaccurate (nominally and grammatically, since the singular of Valar is Vala). She was of the Maiar, same as Sauron or Gandalf. The Valar are orders of magnitude more powerful than the Maiar...think Manwë, their leader, or Aulë, creator of the Dwarves, or Melkor before he became Morgoth. Melian was a Maia who fell in love with the Elven king Thingol in Beleriand and they ruled Doriath, a forest kingdom hidden by a magical force called the Girdle of Melian, which made it impossible for outsiders to find their way through the trees to where the Elves lived (until Beren). I don't want to get too deep into First Age lore, but it does irk me the writers got that one detail so wrong.

I've said it before, but I think the main strength of this show is the casting. It's so good to see fresh acting talent involved.

Sauron's black and gold outfit in this ep made me think "maybe being evil isn't really that bad".

Don't want to compare, but as a Samurai/ninja fan, this is more inspiring than that dumb AC Shadow buullsiht Ubi contracted

Celebrimbor proved that his will is mightier by literary cutting free from the physical & mental shackles that were keeping him prisoner. And then his speech to Galadriel... 😭

This episode was so good. The acting, the armour, the scenes. How can you hate this show. And apparently in a book (not sure what) but Sauron was with celebrimbore for 300 years! Can you imagine having a “friend” for 300 years to find out it’s been a lie the whole time.

Absolutely agree about Is/Arondir - Such a perfect elf embodiment. This season is just up there, absolutely amazing

Some say that this episode is trash but to me this was the best episode so far. Seeing Celebrimbor's broke down was so emotional seeing his workshop destroyed, seeing his city destoryed by orcs and Sauron took control his people. I hope he doesn't die in this season, I want to se emore of Celebrimbor, the actor did a good job to his character.

I do love how someone said it "There was only one way to stop Sauron and that was to NOT let him in to begin with! The moment you let him in, you already lost"

Celembrimbor is in a world of trouble next week but his words to galadriel was amazing can't believe season 2 is over next week

There was a deleted scene from *_Fellowship of the Ring_* of Sauron forging the One by stabbing his own hand and mixing his blood with it, so I'm wondering if there's gonna be a version of that scene finally shown. While there were countless betrayals that had been built up by evil manipulating good and being more powerful than thosr that stood against it, Elrond suffering the absence of a friend when he needed it most, and just sitting in shock, repeating the words, _“Durin will come…”_ over and over hit me like a truck. Sauron FINALLY starting to show his true power after solely sticking to just manipulation for _SO long_ makes the threat of what a Dark Lord poses feel even more harrowing. I cannot IMAGINE what the finale will have in store.

An absolute powerhouse of a show. I’m going to miss it so much after this week

I feel SO BAD for Celebrimbor who was PERFECTLY gaslit by Sauron. Poor Arondir. Am I the ONLY one unnerved by a troll maniacally laughing as he's choking on his own blood? Also pretty genius of Sauron to manipulate Adar into alienating his orcs. Also Durin is LITERALLY between a rock and a hard place

I’m there right with you. This episode broke me. This show has quickly become one of my favorites of all time. The execution from writing, storytelling, acting, cinematography, and the score(looking at you Bear McCreary) has been sensational! Looking forward and dreading to see how this season ends.

Peter Jackson wasn't faithful to the source material either, yet we love his adaptation all the same. Rings of Power hits the vibe of Middle-earth better than a lot of people give it credit for. It's not canon, and I don't know why it's treated as if it was ever expected to be. People enjoyed Shadow of War, yet can't enjoy this?

The problem with the rings is that no one can be trusted with them, they were literary designed to corrupt anyone (the exception being the elven rings). Man, this episode had crazy name-drops: Earendil, Tuor, Beren, plus a relict of Nienna! Also, Valandil deserved better.... And yes, Annatar is gas-lighting, gate-keeping, girl-bossing his way in Eregion.

Seriously, Tom Bombadil is GOAT! Also, I actually cried during the Ents scene, the music, the dialogue...

May all our Rings of Power original characters remain safe and alive. I don't want this season to be over and the only characters we have left are the ones who's fates we already know, but I feel an impending doom for them. I don't want Bronwen to have just been the beginning.
