I think one advice I have for young doctors is to pray to find one or two good doctor friends. St. John the Evangelist is the patron saint of friendship. Pray a novena to St. John to find a few good friends. It’s difficult and lonely out there to be a professional, and medicine can sometimes be a very harsh environment. Young doctors need good friends. Jesus Christ has five precious wounds, and in honor of those five wounds, we can pray for five good friends who can help us through life.

Maybe I am not the best person to ask because I escaped from medicine as soon as I got the degree. I never wanted to be a surgeon and I was interested in public health. Anatomy was very dull, all the structures in the cadaver were colour-coded in the same colour of beige, there was the smell of formalin mixed with pipe smoke from the tutors (this was about 50 years ago) and the very idea of cutting up dead bodies was unpleasant. The Latin terms reminded me of my least liked school subject. Others dissected while i took a back seat. My marks in the first year were only just enough for me not to be thrown out and anatomy must have been my weakest subject.

Time changes. 😅 Osmosis is no longer free. 🥲 Though there are still some of their free videos on KZbin.

Nahhhh, this is not true. Agnesa Mustafa kills a medical student with a zombie blade. She is now a doctor now. Doctors do not get anything more than a slap on the wrist. This plastic surgeon just got very unlucky.

Now I am a 3rd year radiology resident, in sweden. Great to see that you are still posting videos. I have some experience also regarding teleradiology. Doc, I get what you’re saying. But it’s not the navy seals. We’re here to treat patients but the system doesn’t give us time to treat ourselves. With the amount of studying and late nights and pressure and material, student resort to junk food, quick food, lack of exercise, lack of nature, and lack of yoga or whatever puts them at peace. They’re in libraries for thousands of hours. They barely see friends and families and that’s supposed to make us hard?

Opinions by other people are just opinions. Ultimately you have to know and choose what is right and best for you, your health and your family’s health and well-being. Medicine and the medical community doesn’t do anything to explain that.

I think being tired all the time and being burned out/depressed/anxious and having other health problems related to burn out are extremely real and. It’s good that Dr has good positive mind set shift it’s extremely important to take care of yourself and do things that bring you joy and happiness and take care of your physical and mental well-being. Being healthy and happy is the goal of our life and not other things.

My problem is untreated sleep apnea. It's starting to affect my body. My heart. My psyche. I'm looking for short term "remedies" to help me starve any ill effects off so I can lose weight and help my SA and/or get a dental appliance to help with my SA. Doctors so far have been unable to help. They just tell me the obvious or want to give me weight loss drugs, (phentermine or Ozempic).

People in Washington have probably known about his mental issues for many years. It's just that it has reached a point where he (or his handlers) can't just put a Band-Aid on it and pretend nothing is wrong anymore. You might as well put a cactus in his place. Less evil and probably more functional.

This looks like the same thing my brother use to do. He also had a TBI. He would just lock up and stare out into nowhere for a few seconds, what its called is Absence seizures, Once my brother was on seizure medications he stopped having them. But they do come back over time so that the medication does have to be increased or even changed to a different type.
