I started commuting by bike in the 80s . Initially it was I started at 7am and there was no public transport to there . I started on a muddy fox mtb lol . In the 90s it was a kona lava dome . These days it’s on a Velo orange and it’s on a cool cycle path and only 3 miles , my initial commute was 7 . It’s the best part of the day , work is great for commuting . I’m lucky to be supported by shower facilities and a bike store

I hope I don't reply too late... Varia RTL515: Offers multiple light modes: solid, peloton, night flash, and day flash. Brightness levels vary by mode, with up to 65 lumens in day flash mode. Varia RTL516: Designed to comply with regulations like Germany's StVZO by offering only a solid light mode and reduced brightness. (I think it's about 5 lumens)

Wow, nice and easy to inflate. I've had 2 sets of tubeless wheels/tyres and each set was nothing short of a nightmare to inflate. I must have tried 50 times on each wheel to get it inflated. I did all the tricks - inflate with a tube and leave for 2 days, soapy water round the tyre bead, add sealant into the tyre etc. only through sheer perseverance did I get them up and I have no idea why they would suddenly inflate after so many times leaking air somewhere. Surely there has to be an easier way...

Hey Stephen - just curious - how does this ride in city traffic? I'm a new yorker looking for something I can weave through traffic with yet still take on gravely rides. I'm almost sold but feel like I need a push. I'm currently looking at the 2022 version with GRX.

I love this bike for city riding. It's a bit more relaxed compred to a typical road / track bike geometry but if you throw some 28 or 30c tires on it you'll love it!

I converted with tubeless rims but the tires are Schwalbe Marathon Mondales 26"x2" and are not tubeless ready. It worked great. I used a tube to set the beads then, then removed the tube leaving one bead in place. One tire filled and seated with a floor pump. The other required a CO2 cartridge. Added sealant through the valve (Filmore) and everything sealed up and has been working well. I believe that if you can make them seal, you're done. All the fearmongering about requiring tubeless tires is nonsense.

What is the difference between the geared and single speed frame? Can you convert either one back and forth? Asking because I prefer this paint job but want a single speed. Thanks in advance
@aktechstack
@aktechstack 2 жыл бұрын
This geared version would be hard to run as a single speed because the rear dropouts / axel are not adjustable for chain tension. You would have to use a chain tensioner to run this frame as single speed.

Well SBC really let me down, bought one, it didn’t shift so I took it to my LBS, they replaced the cassette and chain and when I told SBC they said we will reimburse you for parts not materials. The bike had one ride of 17 miles and I called SBC 3 days after I got it. I was shocked they wouldn’t pay for labor. Two weeks later the crank arm fell off and shockingly SBC wouldn’t do anything for warranty. Well two weeks later I got an email about a recall that the crank arm may become disengaged so bring the bike to your LBS for full coverage. I’ll never by a SBC bike again, not because of the problems because of how SBC responded to me.

33:14 Man I was riding on Colonial the other day, and passed the intersection with Wonju. I feared for my life hahaha. I was hugging the edge of the road and some guy still hunked at me even though the road is marked up pretty clearly that it's a shared lane. Then some lady trying to turn left into Wonju almost drove right into me bcause she wouldn't wait for me and my wife to cross the intersection. Sketchy stuff haha. Great video!
