German Shepherds are THE best dogs for children. As are rottweilers

I’ve always had standard poodles and German shepherds, and had nothing but absolute contempt and hatred for Jack Russels. I always considered them to be the biggest jerks in the dog world. Then I rescued one And loved him dearly until he died. What endeared him to me was the fact that he was the biggest jerk of a dog that I ever met, so much so that it was hilarious. I now have a better appreciation for them.

I had two wheaten terriers in my teen years. One was put down due an unknown illness (I suspect mushroom poisoning), and the other was put down due to old age.
