What I love most about China (from watching YT videos) is how safe the metro is. It has glass separating the railway tracks from people standing on the platform so no one can fall into the tracks.

more canadians should just move out of canada and goto asia or europe , pay less and get more , depending where you live but keep in mind asia and europe doesnt have free health care except for germany .....in case you ever get sick ...... if your sick of canada over priced taxes , and over priced apts and food , then europe has many places where taxes are some what lower but you will have to do your home work , now asia does have lowest taxes and lowest apts to rent and food is cheap , if you can handle the hot weather ......

We recieved so many immigrants but the government wasted our tax money whilst they... 1. Did not invested in building more roads and highways, plus sold our 407 that was built with tax money to a private owned company!!! 2. Building permit and construction speed is that of a third world countries. 3. Politicians should not use our tax money to dine for eights days spending 200,000 dollars-- thanks Trudeau. 4. Carbon tax... oh pls, we already pay so much tax. 5. Put caps on immigration from each country to find balance.

No mention of the best place to live in Bulgaria. 25 years+ of living and working all over the world and the city of Burgas is a special place. One of THE best places to live in Europe.

I guess, there shouldn't be a rush for moving before the New Year, since in Canada the tax residence status is when you live in Canada 183 days or more. So, even if you lived in Canada in Jan, you could still be a Canadian non tax resident

here is my point ( Bulgarian living in USA for 20+ years ) ... pros moving to Bulgaria: nice full 4 seasons, 10% flat tax rate, EU passport + easy access to other EU countries, good food, cheapest prices in EU including housing ( as longs as is far from the center of the Sofia /capital ) .. .cons: learning BG language will take alot of time to get proficient, a newcomer would have limited work opportunities when starting from scratch, but knowing english and some other language than bulgarian is big plus ... if you have made (or make) good amount of money, I say is worth moving there as for crime , it is safe country .. .one point no-one talks about it that bulgarian mentality is definitely more racist than the rest of EU but is actually alot more tolerant racism than any other western country, i.e. you get away very much with alot which in west is considered unacceptable ... nationalism or more like patriotism is very prominent, so for her saying she has chosen Bulgaria, all bulgarian people will welcome her about that decision ... from acceptance stand point yes, very good business decision

on topic of racism , Alina is white and pretty , so she will likely have white privilege advantage here and there in Bulgaria , just saying :)

A bit delusional in your slight socialist leaning (understandable given you are Canadian). Not getting as much out of social services as you pay in is anathema to true happiness (as is paying into social services which are overwhelmingly going towards things and people which truly rate not needy). There is a balance. I recommend Christianity.

I sympathize and relate to this situation so much. I will always love my home and native land, but I don’t miss the struggle of living there. I had a good job, but everything I made went to the cost of living and I had very little left over to do anything worthwhile. I left in 2019 and it’s even more desperate there now after the COVID pandemic. I miss Canada, but I don’t miss the struggle. I hope you are all doing well and living happy lives wherever you are ♥️

Amazing video, I have enjoyed it very much. You were quite descriptive. Thanks to you, I have learned that there are sleeping pots at the airports where you could rest before the next flight, which is very useful and convenient. Welcome to Bulgaria. I am very sure that you would love it here, because we are very friendly towards foreigners and also there are lots of Ukrainian people living in Bulgaria now. Being raised as Ukrainian and knowing the cyrillic alphabet will help you a lot in learning the Bulgarian language. Plus almost everybody in Bulgaria speaks English now. Good Luck! I also live in Canada, and I have not moved back to Bulgaria yet, but I am seriously thinking about it, because I stay in Varna every year for about six months, and I absolutely love it.

Thank you for the video. I'm 33 and Partner is 30, graduating soon from his PhD. We love Canada and everything about it but weather. However, we feel increasingly bored with life here despite the fact that we live in downtown Toronto. So we think of moving to Europe or US, haven't decided yet. Depends on jobs, cost of living and crime rates.

Congrats Alina, i know exactly how you feel and the big move to Europe as i did. (born in Slovakia and immigrated to Toronto at age 2 (1983) after 40 years working 25 years corporate /living there till Feb 2024 i solo permanently came back to my EU Central European Birth City, capital of Bratislava, Slovakia . it was a easier process being dual national and no need for visa and visited here in my homeland 8x prior and have very small extended family here too and i am fluent in my language. Glad Bulgaria now part of our Shenzhen zone, its so convenient/fun to travel..
