Got these today, I've never ran in my life but i walk, im 23 and obese, it hurt my ankle so much . Is it common feeling this ankle ache on first wear? Appreciate your response
@DaveTheRunner7 сағат бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Do your ankle roll in? You might need a shoe with a little more stability. These are quite soft

The KZbin algorithm suggested your channel and I really appreciate the solid review! Did my first half marathon in April 2024 and have been enhancing my training for the next one with more focused speed workouts. The Asics Novablast 4 lately have been my favorite all around shoe, but have been eyeing this as my quicker option for threshold work/possible upcoming racer. Cheers and good luck on your next marathon! -Alex

Oh dude that worth tons of gold for me 😍💪🙌 I can tell out of self made experience that you‘re so damn right about that strength thing with amount of volume per week 🙏 I‘m myself were at a stage where I would ran between 80 k and 120 k per week but I couldn’t hold it very consistently for long 🥲 For the last year I had phases where I could ran and some don’t because I‘m dealing with an overworked Tibialis Posterior 😬 It was like an on and off for that long. After knowing that kind of problem I‘m doing some exercises to improve the stability of the kinetic chain in general 💪 And these exercises of yours in this particular video right here come very in handy 😍💪

I wonder how you can run the high pace with a lower heart rate. Can you give me some solutions about running a higher pace with a control heart rate. For me, when I ran 4:45 pace my heart rate actually is 178 bpm 😂😂😂
@DaveTheRunner6 күн бұрын
Years of consistent training my friend 🫡 You’ve got to give yourself time to become efficient. Keep your Easy days easy, hard days hard
@Matt-cp9wh6 күн бұрын
You’re running too fast… slow down and give your body practice at low hr. Otherwise you’ll never get good at running efficiently at low hr
@MrJohnno895 күн бұрын
I'd suggest getting at min a fitness watch, chest strap is best. But a watch is a good place to start. And keep all your runs in Zone 2, or conversational pace. If you have to start breathing with mouth. Your going to hard. Keep it slow and boring to build your base up. Your HR will eventually come down for the same pace

Hi Dave, for me the Endorphin Elite is also the best supershoe. Since you ran the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris, how does it compare or what are the advantages and disadvantages of the Asics? I actually still find the Asics shoe interesting and would like to try the Sky Paris too. But as you say the Endorphin Elite is almost perfect only the Outsole is a bit slippery on wet for me.
@DaveTheRunner7 күн бұрын
Good choice 😌 To me, the sky Paris are less stable and less comfortable. The outsole on the elite needs some improvement! 💯

Good stuff mate, was hoping to spot you on the course to shout you out. Ran a 2:50 - start line was kind of messy, I was pushed back into the middle of wave B so playing catchups and swerving a few too many people was a fun & lonely. 😭 Good luck in Melbourne, hopefully will see you there.

I was so surprised on race day, as I could have sworn I saw you around the 20K mark, but I figured there was no way we'd be going at the same pace -- which we still very much weren't, but your later start time meant we did indeed cross the 20K timer eight seconds apart! I ran SYD Mara and secured a time of 3hrs 1min 51secs. I consumed a total of 5 gels during the race however felt stomach discomfort around the 31km mark so I stopped consuming gels from 31km onwards My stomach issues went away however do you think not consuming any more gels played more of a detriment regardless of my stomach issues?
@MrJohnno8913 күн бұрын
Yeah 11km left and that deep into a mara. I would have absolutely kept consuming gels
@kapuzineraffe8813 күн бұрын
You need to train the gut.. 5 gels is way to less for a good performance run. Try to hit. 60g plus per hour for hard efforts
@DaveTheRunner13 күн бұрын
Firstly, great time mate! 🔥 2ndly, I think it might have been a lack of gut training on your long runs. I think you did really well not to “die in the ass” for the last 11KM haha. It might have been detrimental for those crucial Kms not being fuelled, but it’s all lessons you learn running the marathon
