Hey thanks for the comment! You got to have one to appreciate! We love AWD at 28 miles per gallon, we love 300,000 miles and climbing on the original motor and transmission, original gear boxes, even bearings on this gem… and we love that we could floor this(wide open throttle) 100+ straight times from a dead stop up to freeway speeds with zero issues, as if it’s driven off the lot for the first time! Those are just a handful of things, and out of all my fords, and other makes honestly, I have never had that confidence! And my brother and myself love that we paid $2000 for it! Lol 😂

@@FishingAndCars Well when you've always had cars that got over 30mpg except for one an SUV built on a truck chassis that could do truck things and could plow through 3 feet of snow, it really spoils you.
@FishingAndCars3 ай бұрын
Oh man yeah that’s pretty spoiling! 😊 I love these matrix’s but anything over a foot of snow is sketchy a bit as it just doesn’t have the clearance, for what it is as a whole it’s great! Part of me having over 100 different cars in my lifetime is appreciating almost all of them for the things they bring to the table! I’m a bigger guy, an s10 for example is a really small truck to sit in, a ford ranger is also a small truck but I had all the room in the world it felt like sitting in it! And it had cruise! I loved that little ranger lol… there’s lots of pros to most vehicles! I’m having a hard time really getting into the brand new ones, I just don’t think they are worth the money and will hold up as the older ones have…

@liferx43434 ай бұрын
For anyone comparing the 2003 - 2008 Corolla Sedan to 2003-2008 Toyota Matrix you'll see a lot of people say this is essentially a hatchback Corolla, but there are differences. 1. This sits up higher than the Corolla, also the suspension is much more stiff. Cross country ride quality is not as soft as the Corolla. 2. The interior is the best feature and space; but these cars have rattle in the dashboard and interior. The Matrix was only made in the Canadian factories and the interior is different from the Corolla Sedan. 3. The engine is the same 1zzfe 1.8 L with the ASIN transmission which is solid. However I do believe the Matrix has a slightly lower geared engine. Still the same great gas mileage though.
@FishingAndCars4 ай бұрын
Very valid points! My preference would be the matrix as having sat and driven both… the matrix is a really cool little car, like a mini suv… I don’t feel that in the Corolla lol although in terms of lasting a long time… both A+ lol 😊
@liferx43434 ай бұрын
@@FishingAndCars I agree, I love having a hatchback with incredible gas mileage. It's essentially what is now called a "cross over" but like you said it's so fun to drive and unique. Thanks for the review. I just purchased my second Matrix and looking forward to it although it's not the cool 4WD version, the 2WD is still a great car.
@FishingAndCars4 ай бұрын
Absolutely! My nephew saw this review and was like, I want one of those! And with solid winter tires the FWD option does great! Most applications it’s just fine! But man, driving this one in the snow I feel like a little boss lol 😂 Going to get a little better mpgs and the FWD typically last a bit longer in my experience, less wear items and a little easier on the power train turning 2… Really can’t go wrong though! 💯

The car literally has the badge 4WD but I do understand it’s not a truck with a 4x4 transfer case with 4hi and 4lo, ect… That said, all 4 wheels spin and in 2005 there was way less electronics slowing them down from turning in slippery conditions… appreciate the comment though!
