What year is your bike? The tune should be for all of them with the same engine. You can call them and ask. They were very helpful when I called.

I just picked up a 2022 Indian Challenger Icon. Did you do anything else to your bike besides the tune? Ie: pipes, cat delete, air intake. Thank you. I would like to know what I’m getting into before sinking 2-$3,000 in upgrades.
@CountryBoyMoto
@CountryBoyMoto 7 ай бұрын
I did a stage 1 upgrade with the air intake and Rinehart pipes. I love the sound, not too loud but a great tone. No cat delete so far, I don’t see a need for it at this point. The bike has enough power as is for me so squeezing out another couple horses just doesn’t matter. I have added some led lights to the bags and a better adaptive headlight. I also put on toe pegs which are smaller and better looking than foot pegs (to me). I upgraded the seat to a Saddleman Road sofa tho it didn’t need to be changed if 500 mile days aren’t in the plan for you. The bottom line on the upgrades for me is that the handlebars are the only necessary upgrade, everything else is just a “want”. After 4 years, I still really love my bike!

Thanks for the video. I was going to do your method but pulling the outer fairing is about 8 bolts and 5 minutes. Makes it much easier to access the bolts with no specialty tools. I used a pivot head 1/4" drive ratchet with a T25 bit on an extension. Once the fairing was off, took maybe 3 minutes to put the switch in.

Thanks for the video. I just ordered a Saddleman Road Sofa. Just a tad curious and need you to clear something up for me in regards to the driver backrest. I did not order it with the backrest. Can I still use my Indian backrest? You said that you can but I have to remove the oem bracket? Little confused.
@CountryBoyMoto
@CountryBoyMoto Жыл бұрын
I’m sorry it took me so long to respond, my notifications were off for some reason. The road sofa I have has the back rest bracket built inside of it. The new seat will not install properly if you don’t remove the Indian backrest bracket also. The Indian backrest will however fit in the road sofa backrest bracket that is in the new seat! I hope this helps

What about warranty..?
@CountryBoyMoto
@CountryBoyMoto Жыл бұрын
I haven’t had and service issues with bike yet so I can’t say how well or not the factory warranty would work. I do know that Indian dealerships around the country are the only place you can get the tune so it should at least be covered by the dealership itself. It’s a risk I’m sure but I just don’t know to what extent, the best thing to do if you are considering it is to contact your local dealer and have a good chat with them. Stay safe.

I don't care for the Indian backrest but I do like the Saddleman Backrest so do you think that the Saddleman Backrest would mount and lock into the Indian Backrest mount so that you could use the Saddleman Backrest on an Indian OEM Seat?
@CountryBoyMoto

I don’t think so. I think the saddlemen backrest is just a little wider. I kept the stock parts so if I happen to be in the storage building I will check and see for sure and comment on the thread.

I replaced my stock seat with the saddlemen road sofa and it’s actually taller by an inch so that’s definitely not the one you want but it really is a great seat with back support. They do custom work on their seats so maybe give them a call and see if they have any other models that would meet your need. I have also heard about people lowering the rear suspension some, that may be another option to look into. My bike is a 2020 and I’m still very happy with my choice of bike, you are gonna love it.

@CountryBoyMoto
@CountryBoyMoto 2 жыл бұрын
They are more narrow of a grip than the stock bars and you can sweep them back a bit, I did. I’m 6-2 so my arms are straight level with my shoulders and not locked but there was a little bit more adjustment in them to bring back more. I love the bars, they are a good upgrade. I installed them myself so it saved quite a bit of money. If you are reasonably mechanical, you can do it for sure. There are some really great videos on KZbin showing it step by step if you chose to try

You are right and I apologize but I messed up with some of my footage and had to make the best of it. The throttle side is the same except for having to deal with the throttle mech itself but I highly recommend you watch the “handlebar change” video put out by JP cycles. It is fantastic and shows you the detailed wiring of the throttle mech. It was made to show a complete bar change without the heated grips but the stock wire harness is used in it and shows you everything. Thanks for watching!

I had true duals from Bassani installed on my challenger, and ever since I had nothing but problems with my bike, from check engine light being on, engine misfiring, o2 sensors misreading and just bike not running well. Contacted dynojet people and they sold me “power commander 5” and again same problems or worse. In fact no map to match my exhaust, some maps they suggested made it even worse. Until I heard about Lloydz ECU flash, Thank you Lloydz, and thanks to Music City Indian Joey and his crew, my bike runs amazing, I cannot believe the difference. If you have challenger you must get Lloydz ecu tune. Don’t use power commander.

My longest trip is 1200 miles but only 600 on this seat. My impression so far is that I love the seat. It has held up really well. Why does everything Polaris builds need a flash to make it run better??
@CountryBoyMoto
@CountryBoyMoto 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great point! When I was buying my bike it came down to the Challenger or a Street Glide Special. The main deciding factor was that it was gonna take me thousands of dollars less to get the challenger where I wanted my bike to be than the Glide. In my humble opinion the flash isn’t necessary but is a great performance improvement like the other aftermarket items we can get to personalize our bikes, but wouldn’t it be a great day if the bikes came off the line just as we wanted to begin with? 👍

Filling your tank with the bike vertical with a centered fuel cap is fine if you ride it several miles right away. The problem can be if you fill it like that, on a hot day (and a dark tank) if you immediately park it at the restaurant next door, you may come back to the bike an hour later and discover fuel seeping down one side of the tank. Experience speaking here.
