Hmm. I actually don't know if it was different in the past though? I honestly feel like 24 is very forgiving with penalties, there were so many more in some of the past games. I would love them to remove the slowness you get from defensive skill stick. At the moment it is unusable for the most part because you get blown by when trying to do it. I'd love the regular "auto poke" to be worse than controlling your stick yourself so maybe keep the speed reduction for tapping R1 but remove it (or at least reduce it) when holding it down.

@@sopulii04 I played nhl legacy for years for gm connected and defense was cool because you could always perfectly aim your poke, which you can't do in this game, which is just goofy. Idk when it changed but man do I hate it

And penalties aren't really the issue so much as control over your defensive options. Automating it should be something you can toggle off like the auto-backskate. I think that if you could always aim it normally, the speed debuff when you throw out the poke would be fine tbh

Ahhh maybe I now get what you mean! So atm you can't get that "first poke" into the direction you want and that's the issue I'm assuming. Tbh I don't remember when it would've been possible but 100% that's something that is missing currently - when you first press R1 it doesn't have the option of not directing to the puck

Yes! 😍 Auto-sauce out but other than that it was sooo good in 21 when it comes to passing itself (just a lot of other things like interceptions where F'd)

Yeah they've felt like the best fit for me in this year's game. Tbh there's a few teams that are on paper better in-game (avs, canes, vegas, maybe toronto) but just personal preference for me to use them. I'm not a fan of them irl but still like them ingame
