No idea why people doubt your abilites when your the guy who created Super Trump 64 back in 2016. No total amount of 3D modeling and coding knoweldge could beat that *wink* *wink*

I don't doubt you can get this done, but if there is one overwhelming reason to release the source now it's Nintendo - do it before they shut you down!

Is it just me or did his optimizations make the edges in the game more jagged? Either from having less anti-aliasing or being lower resolution.

I know very, very little about coding, even I have tried practice with HTML/CSS, Javascript, SQL, python, SourcePawn, MS-DOS bat scripting, Powershell script, Linux Bash script, Linux Sudo Commands, C++, C#, assembly code (CheatEngine and IDA for very old games) and now currently Visual Basic crap for AutoDesk Inventor ILogic. It is only tiny piece what I have learned of those previous practices, I can't do real programs without google search and stack overflow copy&paste codes. But I like to try because it is like my puzzle game, I get my satisfaction when succeeded. Looking your videos (and others) gives some fiction/ideas/understanding "out of box" what I have not tough. Keep working what you like to do, not what we like to see :D

Based dad. And sorry, but I cannot bring myself to care about your Mario fangame. I want you to succeed, but I don't want to play it. But if you make something completely original years later? I might care a lot.

Kaze I've been watching your nonsense for almost five years now and am continually engaged with the programming content you make, please know that you've got a core of people watching your stuff with no real expectations and who are just happy to see an enthusiastic dev share their learning journey. Also brother congrats on the baby!

Legitimately made me tear up, like a geek. Your work has always been nothing short of inspiring. Mario 64 is a very important game to me personally, and I've always enjoyed the modding scene from afar-- How people can take this experience and make it their own. I've been following along since before the first chaos edition dropped. Every single time there's a new update on a project, it's always so exciting to see what you bring to the modding community. I can't believe the difference between the 2021 shot and 2024 textures, it's night and day! Take all the time you need and keep having fun with the dream. You are now officially THE COOLEST DAD. Take care of yourself and your family, we're all so happy for you. 🩵✨

I love this mod, but I am super concerned about the possibility that it is on Nintendo's radar, especially with how lawsuit-happy they've been lately. In the event anything happens, I hope you have a plan. It would be an absolute travesty to see all this hard work go to waste.

PLEASE don't release it before it's finished. The worst thing would be for Nintendo to strike it down on an unfinished version! Actually... Are you even worried about that?

I love to get new games for the old N64. When you come out with your game find someone to make a strategy guide for it Or a strategy guide that we can look up and print off the internet if we want.

In a time where we have whole-ass AAA game companies releasing broken garbage and acting like we should be grateful if they finally release a patch years later that finally makes their pondscum playable, why is it that some people's first instinct is to rush a small team working on a passion project like this in already thin spare time? And on top of that, then spreading doubt it'll ever release when said team has a proven track record? Congrats on becoming a dad, Kaze, we'll be here when you're ready.

Things like this really show me how many poorly optimized games there were back in the 5th generation. I wonder how much more performance you could squeeze out of a lot of N64 games that ran at 20fps just because of how new 3D was for most developers.
@takuminightcore18864 сағат бұрын
Thank you for your contribution and Work. I do hope at least you’ll release the source code to the more optimized engine sooner or later because this could definitely bring in whole new life to not just Mario 64 but the Nintendo 64 as a hole.

The only thing I'm worried about that could prevent the release of this game is a C&D from Nintendo after the demo undoubtedly gets a ton of publicity. Either way, congrats on becoming a dad! That kid is gonna grow into one heck of a skilled gamer.

When you are saying you are making your own N64 game do you mean RTYI ( which is in effect an original game ) or are you talking about an entirely different game you haven't even mentioned publicly yet?

Pretty confusing message here. Nintendo owns all the Mario IP in the game you've been discussing but you are referring to "marketing" as if this is a commercial endeavor. I would be over the moon if Nintendo gave you the blessing to produce this game and it was a commercial release but currently it still sounds like a non-profit fan project. Nothing wrong with that either, I work on one too ( The Dark Mod ) but if it's not an official commercial game then why the great need to distinguish your "project" from Mario 64 modding in general? Your optimization work speaks for itself and it's clear that whatever "Mario Game" you are creating will be of the highest quality so there's no way anyone would mistake your project for "just another Mario 64 rom hack" (etc). Are you working on a game that does not include Mario or any Nintendo IP?
@yarhiti3 сағат бұрын
the game he's working on is called "return to yoshi's island" so i'm also pretty worried about the c&d prospect

I bet what ever you have in store I bet you come with something that Nintendo never achieved plus your engine bet will make to were people can make there own n64 games from ground up.
