I seriusly love this software, its my favorite beacuse I primary use an ipad as my primary computer, and my only issue is compare with traktor (since i use a traktor controller) you cannot route external audio trough the software EQ or effects.

Personally I’m not trusting the TSA to handle a $2000 controller in the soft case. I would definitely consider buying the set for local gigs but the pair of bags cost $100 more than a hard case, and does not give the same amount of protection to the $2000 controller. It’s a dope and stylish option that saves some weight versus a hard case. However the controller isn’t light to begin with so that shouldn’t be a concern anymore. I’m not sure if the price of the pair justifies the weight savings. I would buy the set tomorrow if if weren’t so expensive.

Appreciate you putting this video up, cos it’s so hard to find hardware showcases alongside Djay Pro. Is it still treating you well? I’ve been eyeballing either the Rane Four or the Mixon 8, and would definitely go Rane if it feels like all the features and buttons on Rane work as expected.

They need a professional portable all-in-one 2- channel controller with both Serato DJ Pro / Rekord Box and professional XLR connections $1000 or under that an NYC DJ can carry on their back or shoulder on the subway as that's the fastest way to get around this city and many cities I imagine during rush hour. DDJ SR2 was great except after 25 hours or more of use per week, after 7 months guarantee something would short, repair places want $150 before they even look at it and on top of that it will take 2 weeks or more

It's interesting that they're in similar price points. The sennheisers used to be much more expensive, and they're used by insanely rich touring djs even though they're relatively cheap, and ugly. And uncomfortable... and cable on the right side... But they sound perfect. I'm really surprised they haven't released a new version.

I have been a DJ for RCCL and would like to set some things straight. 1. Yes, as a ship DJ you do have side duties. It can be gangway duty welcoming passengers back to the ship, punching cards to register PAX onboard, helping out on the rock climbing wall, leading out passenger groups to their tours booked via shore excursions onboard, participating in meet-the-crew type of events. You can also be a substitute for a cruise staff who is sick, as you are part of the Cruise director´s staff/team. In the theatre you may occasionaly control a stage spotlight. However, I have never heard of any DJ who has got to work the duties of a sound tech. Perhaps a DJ could do the duties of a lounge tech, who is responsible for background music in various venues, setting up things like karaoke, the pool band and so on. 2. In fact you do have the opportunity to get off in ports most of the time. There is a rotating schedule for in-port manning where you as a ship DJ may not be able to get off the ship maybe 2 ports per month. This is because there are requirements for a minimum number of staff onboard at all times. The ship DJ rarely have anything set in the work schedule while the ship is docked in port. The scheduled duties often starts in the late afternoon as passengers are expected back to the ship - things like gangway duty, pool deck activities and so on. 3. As a ship DJ you do not bunk up with 4 or 6 other people. You have 1 room mate in a shared cabin, usually with a cruise staff, musician or sports staff. 4. A ship DJ is a 2 stripe staff member, same as the cruise staff. This comes with some privileges such as that you can eat in the buffet and enjoy some other passenger treats - the spa, coffee and ice cream bars etc. Yes, most of the time I would eat in the staff mess, which is better than the crew mess btw, but I would eat in the passenger buffet perhaps 2-3 times a week. The main reason why I would not eat there every day was because when going to passenger areas you must wear proper attire and a nametag, meaning you get interrupted by passenger questions all the time.

Wow - you’re giving great insights into a lot of equipment here… but… this is a relatively cheap controller that offers great features and value for money, plus it’s a ton of fun! This isn’t trying to compete with more premium controllers, but it does have many of their features and in some cases better software integration capabilities.

Good Info!! Thanks, Virgin Voyages normally has good DJs that they outsource, heard this one guy who was on the same cruise as me I am sure his name was Q something? anyway he made the cruise for me. Another time they had a British band from the 80s who were great live I am pretty sure it was ABC & they were part of an 80s night here in the UK on the cruise. I am actually going on a Celebrity cruise soon & there entertaninment DJ wise normally sucks they love that silent disco thing lol.

I haven't been on virgin yet but I heard that's adult only so it's probably pretty fun. As far as the silent disco, the last one I did had that also but that was done by the cruise ship DJs. I don't know about all that. Lol

The fact that I actually, I am using this. I DJ professionally but only on occasion and this is great. It also has more hardware support. Serato obsoletes a lot of controllers and just will not support them tell me about my day but this will support almost anything. I have a TTM 57 mkii let me know when it is it is a beautiful mixer turn on my bed serato doesn't support it anymore

S e r a t o has an advantage in library management. If you are using local files. It writes your cue points and meta data directly into the MP3 itself, making it much more portable and reliable. That is something I think other brands are missing. I don't think they understand how valuable that is

The FX and live performance capabilities of the Mixtour Pro far exceeds anything in its price range and puts it on par with controllers that cost twice as much, if not more. Not to mention the real time stem separation. I just traded my Denon SC Live 4 for this one and I'm not looking back. There's a fun factor to just playing around with it compared to everything else I've tried. This thing also has music production capabilities that I can't wait to explore with just its functionality alone, but its smaller size means I can actually use it in a setup with synthesizers and drum machines etc. I'm going to build up loops with those instruments and then remix them live with this instrument. I can't do that with DJ controllers that are three times the price and size of this thing. I just wish the Mixtour Pro had a few more connection options.

I switched over from Traktor a few years ago. Late last year I got my Viture glasses and Djay pro was working with it once I got the software on my iPhone 15 pro straight from my phone. It's the only way I use it now when I broadcast from home. So even without the glasses I have Dj'ed out with it and my small Mixtrack Platinum controller and my Iphone. I have a small USB breakout box I plug everything into and it all works flawlessly. I am also able to show the software in my home broadcast so everyone can see Djay pro in my broadcast and see my song's, my technique and all. Great software and best stems for me when it comes to software version to Dj.

As someone who always bought and used pioneer equipment dating back to the original CDJ1000s, and as someone who has recently been experiencing one equipment failure after another whether that be with my own gear or someone elses I'm done with pioneer. Whether it be a power brick failing or a full equipment failure in general I took the plunge and switched to rane, however I wouldn't call that a plunge. After rocking both the Rane Performer and the Rane4 for 3 to 5 nights a week for about a month now, I'm never looking back. I can't say the same for the Rev7 and others. I apologize but tons of the latest Pioneer build quality is unacceptable in my opinion. From platters malfunctioning to paint peeling to knobs and buttons breaking to plates lifting from the boards, that's just horrible. But the rane gear is built like tanks. Nothing but solid and dependable performance from both units. Rane all day for me.

DJs don't use this software for many reasons. It's strange that you don't understand this. This program has a lot of problems. And one of the most important is the greed of the Algoriddm. 1. An ill-conceived monetization model. The first mistake of this company is that they do not offer a version purchase model. We can use this program only by subscription. At this stage, a lot of DJs shut down this software after the test period. For many DJs, this is an inappropriate way to use software. 2. Uneven software development for all platforms. This software only works well on Apple products. Laptops and phones from Apple are not the most common gadgets on the market. Making full-fledged software for only one platform is short-sighted. That is, the company Algoriddm simply ignores the fact that Android devices occupy 70% of the mobile market, and Windows laptops up to 80%. They make their product for a minority. This is their right. 3. And the third thing they can do to promote AI DJ. It is a proprietary controller, with maximum integration and disclosure of all functions of this software. I have tested this program several times in the last 3 years. In terms of convenience and thoughtfulness, this is a amazing program, but the lack of a controller, greedy monetization and different functions on different platforms prevent it from reaching its potential.

I can mix by ear when I have to, and I’m sure I’ll get some hate for this, but seratos tempo match display feature is so clutch when mixing older records where tempos jump and aren’t actually what they say they are. I know you can manually change the beat grid, and sometimes I will for effects etc. but I don’t think there’s a need for sync when you have that feature. Especially when quick mixing, you can adjust the tempo slider so quickly.
