Something i am trying is making a pocket. I cut off a pair of jeans pants zipper and a rear pocket, cutting a hole into the pants i am making it onto, and sewing the zipper inside of the pants, and sewing the pocket onto the zipper (Dw it was a pair of jeans that don't fit me anymore lol)

I had a beloved crust skirt (I'm a bit gender fluid, though mostly just a dude that likes fucking with gender norms) that was about 8 years old. It got stolen during my last major stretch of homelessness though, when I was jumped and robbed of all my belongings- the skirt was in my bag cus i was in pyjama pants, which especially pisses me off because it's not like they'd wear the skirt, it strictly had sentimental value to me. My current skirt isn't nearly as far along. I recently got a sweet Millions Of Dead Cops patch for it though.

I've never heard of this method before. Usually what I do is draw over the logo with a black Sharpie paint pen (specifically the paint pen Sharpie, regular Sharpie is ass for this method) until it's completely covered, wait until it's dry and go over it a second time if needed, then when all that's left is the obviously painted over leather I hit it with liquid shoe polish on the parts that were painted and then use the foam head of the shoe polish applicator to blend/fade the liquid shoe polish around the area of the band logo until that whole area just kinda looks like it's never been painted over. Works like a charm and thanks to the liquid shoe polish being meant for leather application in the first place it doesn't show that there was work done there if done correctly. You can paint over that in a couple hours if you want but I've had best results if it's left to dry over a day.

3 in 1 Oil will remove acrylic paint. It's supposed to be 97% naptha? Anyway I did an experiment where I stamped leather, rubbed in acrylic paint marker and then cleaned up the excess with this stuff, it works ok and it hasn't disintegrated the leather. I think. The goal was to put words on leather without buying a $300 heat press. I was just using number/letter stamps from harbor freight, which work great and are real cheap

@@reptil_diy I googled if it’s actually safe on leather and their AI dealie just told me it’s not candy and I shouldn’t eat it For the record I was using it on Veg tan belt leather that was already dyed black but is pretty processed, like the back is smooth. Leather jackets are chrome tanned usually so there’s different stuff used to tan the leather.

I did something parallel to this using mini scrolling led nametags! I didn't bump into the EL panels so I hadn't found a way to create a patch I'd like from the idea, but i turned them into charms i used both as earrings & boot charms :) Having it as a glowing & updatable way to convey word-based patches was fun! The best attributes of the kind i got randomly are 1) they're chargeable 2) there's more customization + display options than I would have expected. You can change the speed & movement of the text (stationary, scrolling, and mult powerpoint transition type effects), but you can also make pixel-y animations! I'm not particularly good at that, but you can also access a library of user-designed messages/images where the options are always really cool :) I really enjoyed this tutorial & definitely have some new ideas!

If you are really down and out you can try regular paper, trace the logo, adhere double sided tape, stick to wax paper, cut out logo, pull off wax paper and use as a stencil. I can not guarantee the results on a shirt but people do this as a method for putting logos on leather jackets. Let me know if you try it. I prefer using freezer paper when making stencils for fabric. 🦖

i was completely taken aback by the harsh wording used to describe people with disabilities. “for people that are not able bodied?” are you serious?? why would you even mention something like this if you aren’t physically disabled. people with disabilities are very aware of what they can and cant do, i dont think its even relational to the context (crust jeans) to be speaking on this sensitive subject, just because you found it easy. i think you need to educate yourself on how to respectfully express yourself around individuals with physical disabilities or incapabilities. it may have been unintentional but the wording was extremely disrespectful. not your fucking place.
@reptil_diy
@reptil_diy Ай бұрын
"Able-Bodied" is currently an appropriate term for someone that does not identify as having a physical disability, It is quite literally used in the field as a neutral term for non-disabled people. By the way, I have been a care service provider for adults that have intellectual and physical disabilities as a career path for the past 11 years. Personally I feel like a lot of these newer "inclusive language" terms come off as crass and off putting but they are what we are instructed to use in the field by medical institutions regardless of what I think. The way I, and others in my field, have been trained is to avoid referring to people with disabilities as disabled/handicapped/ect as it is currently considered insensitive. To be completely honest inclusive language terms are constantly changing, even in my short 11 years I have been trained on numerous iterations of what is currently considered appropriate language. If I ever get something wrong than I do apologize! I only brought it up in this video because I wanted to express how people with limited mobility, like the subscriber I mentioned, can indeed hand sew because I received a question about it previously from them specifically. If you are a disabled person that has a problem with modern inclusive language terms then I highly recommend that you bring it up with the institutions that implement these terms and not a random KZbinr because I do infact agree with some of your statement. Respectfully I hope that cleared the air
