What also will work ist, when you use normal paper, trace the bandlogo you want, stablelise the paper with, in germany we call it, Malerkrepp and then cut it out.

7:08 Fun tip! If you use a soldering iron through nylon or other synthetic materials then you can get perfect holes for applications like this. I learned it from the cosplay community, they do it on foam but i use it on nylon all the time.

Did something similar on a shitty Levi's denim shirt i picked up at the thrift. I took two different fabrics, denim for the inside, and then a red buffalo plaid flannel for the panel on the outside. I roughly cut the pieces to the shape of the panel and sewed both fabrics on either side of the denim at the dame time. Pinning it down can be a pain, but once I'd sewn everything down i was very happy with how it turned out.

I had 15 eyelet boots from steel, Probably one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, But unfortunately the price for this was probably the tragic quality of the leather. I had no problem with the soles at all, the only problem was the leather the shoes were made of because it quickly started to rip, especially at the steel tips where the toes bend, I wore them for just over 4 months and after that time they looked like they were worn for well over 20 years (I was only 16 lol) The leather was hard, completely worn out, peeling like cardboard and almost falling apart. In addition, one of the toes almost fell off the boot at one point... As a Pole, a resident of the country where the Steel brand comes from, I unfortunately cannot recommend this brand, because these are not very durable. They look cool, they are comfortable, but the quality and resilience is a lotery I know a girl who wore one pair of these shoes for over 10 years and never complained, but in my case (and as far as I know a a lot of other people's case) they didn't last me even half a year, just like they did with another friend of mine who had the same model as me, but in his case they got ruined even faster, because after about 2 months. And the complaint in the case of these boots or any contact to producer is a joke, if there is any damage, you can forget about the complaint, exchange or refund. As for good brands, I can recommend Nevermind, Hunters or Cockney, which are very high quality. (I'm proud owmet of Hunters, that's my second pair and the first one served me for almost 5 years During which they only went to the shoemaker once to have the sole replaced)

If you look hard enough ive seen pairs of alpinestar hipoints for 50$ you just have to look pretty hard and wait it out to find the right deal. Waiting it out to find a cheap pair might actually save you money compared to making your own. Making it diy is still really cool not saying not btw but the old alpinestars will literally last you forever and there already 40-50 years old
@reptil_diy11 күн бұрын
Absolutely, if you can find them cheap and in good condition go for it. I've only found one pair of hi point alpine stars in my life at a thrift store of all places and they were not my size, luckily they were my partners size. They are decent boots, just rare. I could never seem to track down size 11 for myself 🦖
@Scscruster11 күн бұрын
@ size 11 isnt too hard to find im sure if you keep looking for a while youll find a good deal on a pair a lot of people sell them not knowing how much there really worth because the leather on the pair there selling changed colors and is extremely dry but you can just fix them with some leather conditioner on the inside of the boot and the outside wont even change colors if you want them to look dirty

I would say Whites or Hawthorne Smokejumpers or Linemans however they're both outta hand in price nowdays. Swiss M90 military boots are the best that you can get for 50 bucks or for pull on boots I would go with Thorogood Soft Streets steel toes. They are anything but 'soft.'

I own two pairs. First pair are some solovairs, great boots, I've had no issues with them however after almost 2 years of walking the soles are becoming very smooth. The other pair I've owned for about 6 months, some Austrian surplus boots and they are so comfortable for long walks and feel very heavy duty. I would reccomend against veg leather because its just plastic and is worse for the environment and wont last nearly as long as a good quality leather.

Maybe I've gotten lucky but my pair of Steels has been about on par with my experience with secondhand Gripfast - comfortable, made well, and the only thing I've had to replace on them were the eyelets from ladder lacing my boots (which tbh I've done with Gripfast more than once).
