Why is there a cutoff voltage for some dashcam still? Does it shutoff thr dashcam if the powercell gets too low??.. I thought cutoff voltage was just for car battery because u don't want to drain it. But why does it matters if u drain the battery pack or not? Wouldnt u want it to drain it to the max for maximum performance??

Hi there! Here are a few tips that might help improve the experience: 1. Wi-Fi Activation: Make sure the Wi-Fi on the dash cam is fully activated before attempting to connect. Sometimes there’s a slight delay as the device boots up and the Wi-Fi network becomes available. 2. Proximity: Stay close to the dash cam during the connection process, as the signal strength can affect how quickly the network appears on your phone. 3. Phone Settings: Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi settings are refreshed. Sometimes toggling the Wi-Fi off and on again can help it detect new networks more quickly. 4. Firmware Updates: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your dash cam, as updates can sometimes improve connectivity performance. 5. Phone Compatibility: Make sure your phone’s OS is compatible with the dash cam's software, as compatibility issues can sometimes cause delays. If these steps don't help and the issue persists, feel free to reach out to our support team. They'll be happy to assist further. Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you!

Hi there! This is a common issue when connecting a smartphone to a dash cam's Wi-Fi, as the phone prioritizes the dash cam's network over mobile data. Here are some steps that might help resolve the issue: 1. Disable Mobile Data Switching: On Android devices, ensure the "Smart Network Switch" or "Switch to Mobile Data" option is turned off in your Wi-Fi settings. For iPhones, turn off "Wi-Fi Assist" in the Cellular settings. This prevents the phone from automatically switching networks but helps prioritize internet connectivity over the dash cam's Wi-Fi. 2. Manually Re-enable Mobile Data: After connecting to the dash cam's Wi-Fi, you can manually re-enable mobile data to receive notifications while still accessing the dash cam. 3. Airplane Mode Trick: Put your phone in airplane mode and then manually enable Wi-Fi. This can sometimes help maintain the dash cam connection without disrupting your mobile data. If you continue to experience issues, you may need to disconnect from the dash cam's Wi-Fi when you need to use mobile data. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us!

Hello, I bought a dash cam from China with a parking kit but it doesn't have a parking setting..
@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 3 күн бұрын
Hi there! It sounds like you have a dash cam that might not have built-in parking mode settings, which can be a bit frustrating. Here are a few things you can consider: 1. External Battery Pack: Some users opt to use an external battery pack that can power the dash cam while the vehicle is off, though this won't enable specific parking mode features like motion detection or impact recording. 2. Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available from the manufacturer that might add parking mode capabilities. 3. Manual Recording: If the dash cam doesn't support automatic parking mode, consider manually turning on the recording feature when you park, though this is less convenient. 4. Consult the Manual: Double-check the user manual or any included documentation to ensure there isn't a hidden setting or feature related to parking mode. If these options don't work and parking mode is important for your needs, you might consider reaching out to the manufacturer for more guidance, or explore dash cams known for their parking mode features. If you need more assistance, feel free to ask!

Hi there! Yes, you can use the same app for both of your Thinkware U1000 dash cams. The Thinkware Cloud app allows you to manage multiple dash cams from a single account. Here's how you can set it up: Install the Thinkware Cloud App: Make sure you have the Thinkware Cloud app installed on your smartphone. It's available for both iOS and Android devices. Connect Each Dash Cam: Follow the setup process to connect each dash cam to the app. You'll need to connect your smartphone to each camera's Wi-Fi hotspot one at a time to register them with the app. Register Both Cameras: Once connected, register each camera to your Thinkware account through the app. Make sure both dash cams are linked to the same account. Switching Between Cameras: You should be able to switch between the two dash cams within the app. This allows you to view and manage footage from both your car and truck. If you encounter any issues during the setup, please feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance. They can guide you through the process and resolve any problems you may face. I have owned several different dash cameras with wi fi connectivity over the years. The blackview dash camera has the worst user interface ever. First, it took me thirty minutes to find the wifi password on the bottom of the insert in the box. Secondly I don't think there's a lock button to save clips.
@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 7 күн бұрын
Hi there! I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with the BlackVue dash cam's user interface. It can indeed be challenging when things aren't as intuitive as expected. For the Wi-Fi password, it's typically located on the camera unit itself or within the packaging, but I understand how that can be easily overlooked. Regarding the feature to lock or save clips, most BlackVue dash cams have an "event" mode that automatically saves clips when a sudden impact is detected. However, if you're looking to manually save clips, it might be worth checking the app or camera settings. Some models allow you to save clips through the mobile app or by pressing a button on the device. If you continue to have trouble, feel free to reach out to our support team for more detailed guidance. Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I'm here to help if you have any more questions!

@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 7 күн бұрын
Hi there! Most dash cams typically come with a 12V cigarette lighter adapter for power. However, not all dash cams include a USB or USB-C cable, as this can depend on the specific model and manufacturer. If your car has a USB-C port specifically for a dash cam, it would be convenient to use a dash cam that supports USB-C power. Some models, like certain Viofo cameras, can be powered via USB if the port provides enough power. To ensure compatibility and avoid any issues, I recommend checking the specifications or contents of the dash cam package you are interested in. If it doesn't include a USB-C cable, you may need to purchase one separately. If you have more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Is it safe to mount it that near the Intellisafe radar box? Volvo says to avoid putting anything there as it may affect the radar & features. Thanks!
@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 7 күн бұрын
Hi there! It's understandable to be cautious about mounting a dash cam near your vehicle's Intellisafe radar box. Generally, dash cams do not interfere with advanced driver assistance systems, as they are designed to work independently. However, if your vehicle's manufacturer advises against placing anything near the radar, it's best to follow their guidance to ensure the optimal functioning of your vehicle's safety features. To avoid any potential issues, you can mount the dash cam slightly to the side or lower on the windshield, away from the radar box, ensuring it doesn't obstruct any sensors or cameras used by the Intellisafe system. This way, you'll have peace of mind knowing both your dash cam and your vehicle's safety systems are working effectively. If you have further questions or need more assistance, feel free to ask!

I was thinking of using one of these but the max operating temperature of 60C for the Blackvue make them seem almost useless under the Australian sun when the crazy in people is more prone to come out. I suppose making one with a ventilated, cooled and dehumidified enclosed case with a filter might defeat the affordability and battery usefulness though, argh.
@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 7 күн бұрын
Hi there! I understand your concerns about operating dash cams in extreme temperatures, especially under the intense Australian sun. High temperatures can indeed pose challenges for electronics like dash cams. Here are a few suggestions to help manage this: *1. Ventilation and Cooling:* While creating a ventilated and cooled enclosure might not be practical due to cost and complexity, parking in shaded areas or using sunshades can help keep the interior temperature down. *2. Temperature-Resistant Models:* Some dash cams are specifically designed to withstand higher temperatures. It's worth checking if there are models available that have a higher heat tolerance, though these can sometimes come at a higher price. *3. Parking Mode Settings:* If your dash cam supports it, using a time-lapsed or motion-detection parking mode can reduce the heat generated by the camera itself, as it won't be recording continuously. *4. Regular Checks:* Ensure your dash cam is properly mounted and check regularly for signs of overheating or damage, to prevent any potential issues. If you're still concerned, please feel free to reach out to our support team for advice on models that might best suit your needs in high-temperature environments. Let me know if you have any other questions!

My hardwired Viofo dash is rated at 70C which seems to operate fine even though it feels almost scorchingly burnies to the touch in the sun but I was considering a battery backup system to prevent premature expiration of my lead acid main battery. I just switch the cam off when I get home from work(5km away)/going out which is a bit of a pain but will do in the interim.

Planning to buy U3000. But I keep on wondering if it will work in Middle East Temperature which could easily rise up to 55 degrees celcius.
@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 22 күн бұрын
Hi there! The Thinkware U3000 is designed to operate within a temperature range of -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F). While it can handle high temperatures, 55°C (131°F) is close to the upper limit. In extremely hot climates like the Middle East, it’s important to consider that prolonged exposure to temperatures at the high end of the operating range can potentially affect performance. To help mitigate heat issues, you might want to ensure that the dash cam is installed in a location that minimizes direct sunlight exposure, or consider using a heat-blocking film on the windshield. If you have any further questions or need assistance with your decision, feel free to ask!

How does the BlackVue DR970X-2CH Plus compare to the U3000 when it comes to withstanding hotter climates like Texas and Florida?
@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 23 күн бұрын
Hi there! Both the BlackVue DR970X-2CH Plus and the Thinkware U3000 are designed to perform well in various climates, including hotter environments like Texas and Florida. The BlackVue DR970X-2CH Plus has a higher heat endurance, with a maximum operating temperature of up to 70°C (158°F) and a safe cutoff around 80°C (176°F). This means it can handle high temperatures effectively, making it suitable for hot climates. The Thinkware U3000 also offers good temperature resistance, but specific maximum temperature ratings may vary. Generally, Thinkware cameras are built to withstand high temperatures as well, but you would need to check the exact specifications for the U3000 to compare directly. If you're in particularly hot areas, both models should perform adequately, but the BlackVue DR970X-2CH Plus is noted for its robust heat endurance. The dilemma I’m in, as someone that has never had a dash cam and now is in the market to get one, and have been told to go with the Viofo from several people, is the parking mode. I really don’t want to hardwire anything in, and although my ZR2 has ports and an electrical socket, was told that you can’t have parking mode, without hardwiring. So for me, it’s either hardwire in order to get parking mode, or not hardwire, and only have coverage when the truck is turned on. If I choose to not hardwire, does the A329 have plug and play into the normal port?

Will installing the pro or the plus void my car warranty? Does it need hard wiring? My car warranty allows only usb port near the rear mirror. Sorry my english is not that great. Its not my first language
@blackboxmycar

Hi there! Installing a dash cam like the VIOFO A229 Pro or A129 Plus typically does not void your car warranty, as long as the installation does not damage any existing components of your vehicle. However, it's always a good idea to check with your dealership or refer to your warranty terms to ensure compliance. Regarding hard wiring, while it’s recommended for features like parking mode, you can also use the USB port near the rear mirror for power. Just keep in mind that using the USB port may limit some functionalities like parking mode, as the dash cam won't have a constant power source when the car is off. Hi, First of all, thank you so much for the extremely detailed video. As someone who is not very familiar with this subject, I found it to be perfect! I have a few questions: I plan to install a dash cam in my Peugeot 208 (2014), and I think the VIOFO A229 Pro is the one I'll purchase. I also want to hardwire it, and I understand that I need the VIOFO HK4 kit for this. I've already reviewed the fuse box diagram of my car and I believe I’ll connect the yellow cable (ACC) to the cigarette-lighter fuse. However, I'm unsure where to connect the red wire. Could you suggest a constant fuse I could use? Also, if I don't connect the red wire, can I simply ignore it? Additionally, how fast will the dash cam drain my car's battery? Even if I set the sensitivity to the minimum, is it risky to connect the red wire? Due to my new job, I don’t drive much, and I’m concerned that the dash cam might drain the battery. Thank you again for your help!
@blackboxmycar
@blackboxmycar 2 ай бұрын
Hi there! I'm glad the video was helpful! To install the VIOFO dash cam, connect the red wire (VCC) from the HK4 hardwiring kit to a constant power fuse, such as the fuse for interior lights or radio memory. This connection lets the dash cam work in parking mode, which helps monitor your car when it’s off. Ignoring the red wire isn’t recommended, as it may prevent proper function. To minimize battery drain, use parking mode on low sensitivity and consider a battery pack like the VIOFO Power Magic Ultra Battery for added protection. Let me know if you have more questions!

Hi there! It sounds like your dash cam may be drawing power directly from your vehicle's battery without the benefit of a battery bank, which can lead to battery drain issues. If you have any further questions or need more assistance, feel free to reach out!

Finally a dashcam pushing into 60fps territory in 4k! 4k dashcams have been around for around 6-7 years and it was only a matter of time before we got 60fps

Do we really need a 4K 60Fps as a Dash cam?Are you gonna making movie by driving all day?

@JiaxinLiao-9531 it helps a lot with reading license plates not only at distance (4k) but also if they're moving quickly past you (60fps)

@@vancouversworstdriversFor most daily commuting or situations with few accidents, 1080p or 2K at 30fps is usually sufficient to meet the requirements, and 4K may seem a bit excessive. Additionally, a 4K 60fps dash cam typically requires much more storage space, as video files are larger and the cost is also higher.

Thats only if you turn off HDR. With HDR its 4K30fps max

A329 2CH is a no go, but if/when 3CH becomes available, I will seriously consider it.

Hi there! It's completely understandable to hold off on a purchase until the features you want are available. A 3-channel dash cam can provide comprehensive coverage, capturing both front and rear views, as well as the interior of the vehicle. This added perspective can be especially beneficial for ensuring safety and accountability. If the A329 3CH becomes available, it could be a great option for your needs! In the meantime, if you have any questions about other models or features, or if there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask. We're here to help you find the best dash cam for your situation!

Censure this black box America guidelines.china human rights violation. Chicken tax product. Viofo A 329 uses HD in the evening but others have brought up that it doesn't have a daylight savings adjustment. So night shots are preferred at a different setting and it's kind of questionable what somebody else brings up about the effectiveness of this camera. I'm using a microwave sensor to a driving light for security camera purposes, IR light would appeal to the camera specifically and not spook a thief. Most cameras have a lux rating which has not been explained. There are a lot of issues like for professional drivers that need cameras that work with wireless. Expect customer service to answer how to adapt this to a wireless transmitter, unlikely!

Can you compare a329 vs redtiger f77 please. I want to take which is the best one

RedTiger is a scam brand, releasing cameras incapable of meeting the specs on the box and having poor reliability. They pay Amazon to list them as a top brand and pay for reviews.

Do I need a smartphone to use the A129 Plus?

Hi there! You don't necessarily need a smartphone to use the VIOFO A129 Plus, but having one can enhance your experience. The A129 Plus allows for basic functionality without a smartphone, such as recording and playback directly on the camera. However, using the smartphone app can provide additional features.

Thanks for outlining the steps clearly. While I successfully connected to the Thinkware DashCamLink app and Wi-Fi (the camera works totally fine) and created an account via the Thinkware Connected app, I am unable to register my dash cam in the Thinkware Connected app. I followed all the steps that you outlined here. Issue: When I connect to Wi-Fi via the Thinkware DashCamLink app (the Wi-Fi button starts flickering yellow) and attempt to register the dash cam in the Thinkware Connected app, the dash cam says “disconnected from the smartphone” (the Wi-Fi button returns to constant blue) and the app displays “Check the certification number and try again”. This happens every time and whether I try to connect via the bar code or MAC address. Also, I noticed while connecting to wi-fi you have a solid yellow wi-fi button color it does not flicker - probably meaning that you already connected to Thinkware Connected prior to filming this video. I have tried the following without success: Resetting the phone, turning the car on and off, resetting the dash cam, manually typing the MAC address, connecting to the hotspot of another mobile device instead of connecting to the local/home wi-fi, ensuring the camera has the latest firmware (v1.02.01), reinstalling Thinkware apps on my phone. Do you happen to know what may be the trick/issue here? Many thanks

additionally, I reviewed the Thinkware Connected app on the App Store, which has a rating of only 1.4 out of 5, with 90% of users reporting that they cannot register their dash cams within Thinkware Connected app.
