I am unclear if I can,or should, automatically connect the Dash Cam to my home WiFi? Sitting in my car is not optimal whereas sitting in the comfort of my house is. Is there a way to toggle from the car WiFi to the home WiFi? Having the car turned on to watch video from inside the house seems inconvenient. The other option of taking the memory card out of the car without corrupting the files also seems risky. I am sure that I am misunderstanding the process and need to learn more which is why I asking.😅

I see, I believe the Thinkware Dash Cam Link app only lets you pair with one wifi source, so it wouldn't be able to change between your house wifi and car wifi, it would be one or the other. Taking the SD card out of the camera is normally rather safe, though the safest way to do so is to power down the camera first.

Do you need to be in the car to access the videos?

Yes, you need to be within your Thinkware dash cam's intranet to connect to your phone's Wi-Fi and access videos. However, if your dash cam is Cloud-compatible and connected to a mobile hotspot, you can access it from anywhere.

They really need to put in a feature where it tells what time a event happen instead of saying how many. I wish depending on how close you are could hae the camera connect your home wifi & live view & download clips instead using the thinkware especially when using radar mode your screwed

Thanks for the feedback! We'll ensure it's passed along. Do keep in mind that without the radar, the camera can be connected to your home wifi, and once you've gotten into the list of incidents, then they do have date stamps.

Are all the video that are on the Dashcam link app that same as what’s currently on the sd card or is there more videos on the sd card from older dates

Generally, everything that can be seen in the app is what is recorded on the SD card. On rare occasions, SD card corruptions or issues can lead to files not being stored in the proper folders and therefore not accessible in the app, which can possibly happen if say power was abruptly cut to the camera and the file did not finish recording. This is speaking hypothetically, and is the case for other camera brands.

Hello. I'm having an issue with my dashcam, I can only ever see 2 continuous videos in the app. It constantly overwrites them. On the other hand, it keeps storing more and more parking mode videos without issues. I only just installed it so it has around 20 or 30 videos so it cant be an issue with space. Perhaps one setting is wrong, but there are very few settings to choose from. Any idea? Thanks!

I have a smartphone but No Wi-Fi at home. Am I able to access the camera remotely without Wi-Fi and still be able to see what's going on on my vehicle?

Yes, you can still access the camera remotely on the data from your smartphone. However, the camera itself will still require an internet connection to send that feed remotely, within the vehicle itself.
