If he was truly your friend he would have payed you back once he had the money and along with it a token of saying thank you or interest to show you he is grateful. When you lend a so called friend money and you have to go out of your way to Badger them about paying you back with no response or argument, are they really your friend. ?

I lend someone money and now they’re upset I asked for it back. Yet they have money to do their nails, and when I got invited to one of their parties and asked for a drink they told me there was no more but proceeded to give someone else who asked for a drink one.. I was like damn ok Then one of their siblings who I don’t even know decided to tell me in front of everyone there that she stayed talking bad about me, same sister she talks bad about to me.. I left it alone though. But it spoke volumes about the type of person they are.

I loaned a fam memeber money many times and its the same thing smh this time its only 10$.. but its been almost 2 months ... I gave my friend plus lend her money because she was going through a very difficult time. She always said she'd pay me back. Meanwhile she took trips and other things. I patiently waited. I was struggling financially and ask if she could start paying some of the loan back and it seems she got offended. I'm the one who feels used and I'm upset.

I bought tickets for icesakting for me and a friend, she said to pay and book but it didn’t happen the first time so I had the option to reschedule but only had a certain amount of time to do this like 20 mins. They didn’t let me know when they were working even though it would have taken the 5 seconds to find out on their phone but I had to book something so I booked Saturday. They now say they can’t as they are at work Saturday. I said couldn’t you tell me yesterday that? Now they are annoyed at me and they don’t want to meet anymore. So I’m going myself and I doubt I’ll get my money back

if you lend someone $20 and you never see them again, it was worth it. I was in that boat. Took me years to pay people back, some people up to 12 years to pay back $600. I finally paid it back with 6% compound interest over 12 years. I paid them $1210.00. It was constantly on my mind for years, I just couldn't do it do to health reasons, but when things changed I paid everyone back. My conscience is clear, and they were happy to get the extra cash, during covid and money was tight.

for anyone who didn't get it. You know people by their conversations that is why it's important to listen. if anyone has a problem with security, they are lax and probably potential thieves and hate boundaries. Anyone who has an issue with someone asking the borrower back for their money simply means that those individuals would borrow and not pay back.

Hi I accidentally borrowed a huge amount of money from a family friend. I know she is very upset with me. I will pay her back $900 tomorrow. I know she was kind to try to help me. It was my fault. I owe her $1000 more. I don’t want her to think I am a bad friend. Asians tend to be generous and then I know I should of just asked for an extension for the bill due date. I made a mistake. I should be responsible. I may have lost a good friend. I lost my good full time job years ago and took care of my parents until their passing. I am a part time driver a small gig driving students to their tutor class. 👍Thankyou for the advice I have a learned a lesson I am in tears for not paying her back sooner. I had a bad rental experience last year lost all my income and depressed went on retail therapy 🥲

Friend borrowed about 350-400 dollars 7-8 months ago when I didn’t have a job/car/income stream and he had both so I though I’d give him some. Only payed off 150$ when I lied saying I couldn’t afford Christmas presents. Now his car blew up but him mom drives him to work so I’m going to say “hey remember when I didn’t have a car or job but I gave you that money for? Yeah you aren’t paying for gas anymore so I’ll be taking that back.”

A long distance cousin of mine who always stays at mine and friends houses when she travels messaged me a few weeks back to ask if I could take her and her boyfriend to another part of the country as she wanted to show him that side of the country whilst they are visiting. I booked some time off work and due to the distance said that we should go a third each in the cost as we had to book accommodation. Now that she’s back home after taking the trip not only has she ignored my request for money which I reduced, she’s also been partying up since and even taken a trip to Mexico whilst messaging me about where I should take them next time they visit. The trip cost me hundreds as I bought them their meals and paid for attractions. I want nothing to do with them anymore

I'm starting to think that these people all go to a convention where they learn how to be deadbeats and think of ways to try to make the lender feel guilty. This is because if you notice the fact patterns in these comments are the same.

Borrower who do this-if you happen to watch this video I'll give you some credit for at least taking interest in the topic. Maybe you're trying to make things right and pay the money back. But for the vast majority of you how do you do this to your family and friends? I guess honor means nothing to you. And if you think that someone doesn't want their money back because they're not asking for it you're sadly mistaking. So go do the right thing and pay the money back.

Have that friend write a letter specifically saying, I Blank, owe you, Blank, $600 and will pay you back by this date 📅... Etc. That way you'll have proof that they owe you money.
