When someone ask me for money, the 1st thing I ask myself. Why didn't they go to a bank or use there credit card? which, I, myself would have done. Usually, cause of their bad credit, which is a good sign they're irresponsible with money & a good indication that you won't get your money back. You can't control someone to pay you back, all you can control if your willing to lend them money. 😗?💵

My friends always called me when they needed money. I always helped them and sometimes just went out of my way to assist them. I noticed a trend where initially did fake checkups before finally asking for a favour not immediately but at most two days after '' checking up on me''. After loaning them they disappeared and never paid back. Recently I began evaluating my friends and tested them if they would return the favor. One night at around 8pm,i texted 4 of my close friends (or so I thought) and asked them to loan me some money because of an emergency . I didn't ask for much as I was testing the waters. NO ONE LOANED ME THE MONEY. THEY ALL GAVE VARIOUS REASONS AS TO WHY THEY COULDN'T. Whether they were saying the truth or not, it didn't matter because as my friends I expected them to ask later if I got the help I received and if I was alright. This was an eye opener for me. I grieved a lot and ghosted them completely.

Recently a friend of mine asked to borrow me $20 until his upcoming payday and will reimburse me. He always says he needed it for his gas. He borrows me like 2-3 times a month but the only time he pays me back is when I ask for it. He never actually just pays me when he knows he owes me. I always seem to have to be the one to remind him. Last week I asked him to help me out with gas money even though he still hasn’t paid me back but I needed it and I never ask him to borrow money period. He said he’ll check me that same day. He never did. I let a few days go past and he never reached out to help me knowing I needed the money. I finally just text him and told him to cancel helping me out. He was so fast to reply to me right away with a lame excuse. I ignored his calls and now he’s avoiding contact with me and still hasn’t paid me back as promised.

Back in 2001, loaned $500 to a friend, because her ex husband didn’t give her money, and her car was almost repoed for missing car 2 car payments. Long story short: She took advantage of me, and I had no choice but to take her to small claims court. We almost went to the Peoples Court show, but she didn’t want to be humiliated in public. Then she immediately paid back my money. Whats interesting she got a dose of karma. About 7 months later she married a so called self made millionaire. Then 4 short months after the marriage her new husband got arrested and sentenced to prison for first degree grand larceny. She had to wait almost 10 years to annul the marriage.

Thee most valuable video I’ve ever found on KZbin. The dollar amount even pertains to my situation. 2 and half years ago I loaned a friend a bit of money and over the course of a couple months it added up all to $200. But the biggest part of that loan was money for him to buy college textbooks. So over half of a year of trying to get paid back always an excuse or reason that couldn’t get the money to me. I stopped talking to this friend for and half a year. Then we start talking again and only after a couple months of hanging out like old friends taking a trip to LA going out to eat. I asked for the money again. Only for him to make reasons that he was still struggling. So I stopped talking to him again for half year and here I am currently had recently hung out but again asked for the money and when he promises to pay back or pay some he just doesn’t keep his word. Over the course of these past years. He’s taken trips to LA, Vegas, bought new game consoles, new clothes and shoes, etc. A childhood friend of 11 years and all falling apart because he can’t pay $200 but even more keep his word.

In early days of June same year I called him up asking if he had my money as I was about to go on my trip and he told me he didn’t have any money at that time, to make this story short-till this day I only collected 900$ from him and his last payment was in 2020. Basically I gave up asking and chasing my money, I lost a friend as a result and learned a good lesson to never ever to land any money even if they are your old friends. I wish it wasn’t so 🙏

Not being able to pay and not choosing the pay are two different animals. I don't get upset if I lend a friend in need some cash and they CAN"T pay me back. My issue is friends that blow you off and buy things they don't need and then lie to you and pretend they don't have it. Your situation is better because if the friend says they don't have the money to pay whether it's true or false it's much better than the friend that basically tells you he isn't paying because he doesn't want to. You have options. You can ask for payments. He/she might not have the $200 that's owed or whatever it is, but can he give you $5 a week? At least that shows an attempt.

I gave my friend plus lend her money because she was going through a very difficult time. She always said she'd pay me back. Meanwhile she took trips and other things. I patiently waited. I was struggling financially and ask if she could start paying some of the loan back and it seems she got offended. I'm the one who feels used and I'm upset.

i would not even give my friend 1 cent let alone 30 or 40 dollors

yeah sometimes it is not about the money itself but more about principles. A real friend won't need a cent from you to be your friend.

I never loan out anyone with my money… at all! Sorry ! If I don’t let anyone “borrow” my money, I won’t get into this issue of them never paying my back.

How about companies.I have that never paid me the 3500.00 mosher from NY? Another one is LisaSanders on Ebay. I made a bid, and had to pick it up, Of course I couldn't do that. But Lisa refused to release me of the 7.00, she expidited the payment so she didn't have to refund me. I think to leave in feedback may work for others to stay away from these people..

I'm starting to think that these people all go to a convention where they learn how to be deadbeats and think of ways to try to make the lender feel guilty. This is because if you notice the fact patterns in these comments are the same.

Yeah i lent my close friend $25,000 As a business loan.. we have a contract... the business failed , Now he moved across the country and i rarely hear from him. He tells me he’s going to pay me back really soon every time I speak to him but it’s been years.. he has a kid ... hes working as a bartender, i know he really has no money to pay me back and now I According to the contract he technically owes me approximately 50,000 now bc of years of interest. Do not lend a friend money if you’re not prepared to gift it to them, otherwise most likely your friendship will be destroyed and you still won’t receive the money back.

You just ask them to give you one of their personal objects or something they really like and then give them the money so he is forced to give them back after. For example, give me your computer and then I can lend you the money and so when you return them you can get your computer back. That simple

Despina Tziouma I understand collateral, and how actual loans prevent defaults. The point I'm making here is when you spot your friend and he lies about paying you back. To make no intent to pay you back because they are your friend, you shouldn't have to hold their belongings hostage.
@despoinaat6 жыл бұрын
howcin I agree with you I was just recommending a solution if that friend is known as not to be trusted.I guess you shouldnt give him money if thats the case but if you have to thats a solution

I house sat for a "friend" and looked after their annoying ass dogs for what I thought would be a week oh and sorted their slips for taxes... It turned into three weeks. I was done after that and just wanted to come home to my own house and cat. They came back didn't pay me a cent. Meanwhile they drank hundreds of bottles fancy wine and other expenses. Later they asked me to do another job basically doing admin and also being a sales person for his art and other people's art. I had to drive 12km to town and back for meetings about organising this event. And nothing happened at those meetings I just wasted petrol and time. Other people got paid before hand because they were more important. This weekend is his event and I can't even go to my own exhibition where my own art is! Im not allowed. Let's see what happens. Maybe a miracle. Guess whos going to be there for them next time? Now there's going to be rumours about me being a terrible person around town.. fuck this place and so called friends!

If he was truly your friend he would have payed you back once he had the money and along with it a token of saying thank you or interest to show you he is grateful. When you lend a so called friend money and you have to go out of your way to Badger them about paying you back with no response or argument, are they really your friend. ?

Would you help a nearly homeless friend? I did and keep doing it. I’m not capable of doing it soon(maybe now). To be honest he is not great friend. I feel I m just foolish but No matter what I still feel painful when I think one day, a person who in a period, was being very close with me becomes homeless. I perhaps will stop supporting him soon but I hope he will always be ok and won’t be homeless one day.

Borrower who do this-if you happen to watch this video I'll give you some credit for at least taking interest in the topic. Maybe you're trying to make things right and pay the money back. But for the vast majority of you how do you do this to your family and friends? I guess honor means nothing to you. And if you think that someone doesn't want their money back because they're not asking for it you're sadly mistaking. So go do the right thing and pay the money back.

I lent a neighbor my last 5 bucks today. I know she won't manage her money next month either. I'll probably end up lending her another 20 next month, but that's all, and she won't get more than a $20 float from me. I lent another neighbor $50 three months ago. She never even tried to pay me back. It hurt, but it only took $50 to find out what kind of person she is.

Afraid to say it but people need to make the loan and ALSO charge interest say 15 -25% extra each week the debt is not paid. Make a clear video recording or contract with the terms written out and with the borrowers signature or agreement
