I think it also will help him get his next films out a little faster, which is fine by me as long as the quality is high. Plus I’m all in if it means him and Robert Rodrigez getting to the next Alita Battle Angel sooner. 😄

AI replacing Jobs in, Art , music ,film , authors and art schools , Think about it. James Cameron could let AI make Avatar 4. But he can't say I MADE THIS. The academy award goes to Windows 11

With all the success garnered throughout this generation of filmaking journey thus far, wouldn't it be timely to pass on the wisdoms & experiences to the next generation through film collaboration platforms ? I think the person behind the movie 'The Creator' is the only one in recent time that came close in creating a similar masterpiece vibes to your movie portfolio → a genre of futuristic physical A.I. interaction with human society but with a touch of human emotion, like the the feel of watching Terminator (sci-fi action) + Titanic (tragic romance) all in one movie experience if I may quote. I believe it's Gareth Edwards if I'm not mistaken → make a huge film with him on a grandeur special effects movie platform and pass on the knowledge via this filmaking processes, who knows might learn something along the way (a fresh perspective from recent PoV perhaps). By the way, I'm planning to 'download' my professional intellects into a CoPilot 'avatar' (ie. autonomous A.I. agents) via an A.I.PC, thus leaving some of my "thought process DNA" digital footprint before moving on to my next endeavour/s elsewhere.

Survival is the ability to adapt to change and in this case the change is a technological one I believe James Cameron is absolutely right !!!

Almost every single moviegoer knows the Oscars are a dead and buried bad joke now. The Way Of Water was a much better film that EEAAO and the other movies. The acting was superb. The production design was superb. The same with the costumes that were much better designed and executed than Wakanda Forever's costumes. The editing was better and made more sense than EEAAO's editing. Simon Franglen's music was SUPERB... Almost everybody from the filmmaking world knows that most of the academy members don't watch the movies, they just watch reels and see what media and film critics impose, and that's it.

The difference between James Cameron and other film studios is that he will use AI as a tool to tell better stories--they will use AI to lay off workers. 😢

Refreshing to hear Jim affirm the Asimov position in his very own words. 🙂
James Cameron is a plagarist. because he stole the ideas from a British Artist for Avatar. He used to have original ideas but he's gone woke. Avatar 2 was a voyage in DEI and wokeness. People want his films to show more robots in his films and less human emotional crud.

Nope. Generative AI is not a creative tool like Photoshop. Generative AI is the whole actual "artist" manipulating Photoshop altogether by crippling millions of copyrighted artists online to generate said "Art". Generative AI replaces the artist having to harness Photoshop. It eliminates the human artist from the pipeline, elimitates workforce and the need to pay artists for their workload. Generative AI is The Artist combined with Photoshop without the need of an actual artist using Photoshop. So Cameron just sold out to tech bros on that one. The irony is that AI can't create from scratch. Cameron's movies were pionneering VFX back then, namely the Alien water tentacle and the T-1000 were created from scratch by talented artists who were also engineering their own tools without much references to draw from. If Cameron had Stability AI back then and wanted to bypass ILM to make the water tentacle nor the T-1000, he couldn't have gotten the results he got because AI wouldn't have any images and footage to rip off to get those breathtaking visuals that needed human input and creativity to get right. Generative AI is for hacks. Not visionaries.
@AVTRАй бұрын
If it can't make anything new then what's there to worry about? As you said it wouldn't be able to make the T-1000 or the water tentacle.

The problem is that many artists are realizing that AI is actually creating "new" images just as much as humans are creating, through collective consciousness. Or the "collective unconscious", as some psychologists call it. In practice, there are no original things, we always have a reworking of something older, and this is a completely natural process.
@kineraАй бұрын
Artists are all inspired by things and art they have previously seen. Every human artist in a sense rips off art that they observe over their lifetime and use those mental images to create something new.

AI as a tool is like a bucket of paint you chuck at a canvas, not a brush. There's no skill involved beyond programming it. Stable diffusion is also one of the worst offenders as far as abusing artists' copyright goes and that's a product of the company Cameron joined.
@AVTRАй бұрын
I feel people said the same when the camera was invented though no? You just point and click. Is there no artistry involved in that either?
@miikaaeeelАй бұрын
@@AVTR You don't have to feed photos of flowers to a camera before you can take a picture of a flower though. AI is like a blender that you feed past work and then you wait and see what it shits out. It's a copy+paste with extra steps. ` Is there artistry involved in pressing ctrl+c and ctrl+v? Are you creating something when you do that? AI can't produce anything without using existing media, therefore it cannot create.
@honor9lite1337Ай бұрын
@@miikaaeeelAnd this is why me and my company isn't creating our AI solutions using deep learning algorithm, which is heavily based on available big data. Instead I'm using evolutionary genomic algorithm to create billions of many unrelated genesis population independently, form scratch. The feed of data is 0KB, and completely offline never connected to the outside world. The early result is mixed, 80% is unrecognizably random, but the rest is magnificently an alien thing from human perspective. AI is the last human invention to differentiate human population who can adopt and merge with it and those who can't.. between the superior one and the lesser mortal.
@AnamnesisАй бұрын
I look at this debate of "Jim vs AI" rather like "Elon vs Big Tech" where they're both using their influence and resources to steer things in a direction that is more charitable to the human condition than what we're accustomed to in these industries. They're both examples of industry leaders who are on the side of Team Humanity (and by extension, Asimov's Laws) with the idea that we have control of our technology, rather than it having control of us. They want to empower individuals with the best tools available. If you want to see this in action, try giving the same set of quality tools to both a skilled tradesman with a work ethic, and an unskilled imbecile who sits on a couch, and see what kind of house each of them builds for you.
