@@ValisFan3 there’s some people like that. But everyone knows this needs to be experienced on the big screen. Top gun made 1.5 billion. That’s without 3D and a smaller audience overseas compared to Avatar. People loved Top Gun and payed for IMax and Dolby. Those people will come back out for this. Plus Gen Z has never experienced an epic like this before. They are gonna see this multiple times. People will pay to $25 a ticket to escape to a new world and escape the troubles of this one.

Even if the reviews were terrible, I would still go watch it at least once. Honestly, the lukewarm reviews are a good sign. If absolutely no one had any problems with The Way of Water, then I'd be suspicious. The fact that people can be both critical of the film while also praising it shows that it is already steps above other recent blockbusters that failed to deliver on all fronts.

I just watched it, it is fucking incredible as soon as you get to the under water parts. you mouth drops to the floor and doesn't shut until the credits. The story isn't amazing but that doesn't matter as the visuals are what I'm here for. It is one of the only movies that has transported me fully into its world. I think it will make tons of money and many people will go back to see it again

And when people critique they have more to say about the name of a mineral or “smurfs” than they do about the white savior issues. What always made me nervous about a sequel was the thin plot of the first. Not only that I think we forget that it used voice over which is major crutch. It seems like they would have to do away with voice over considering.

We cant forget Avatar. It's like loving The Empire Strikes Back while forgetting the original. I mean, Empire had a lot more emotion. The characters felt more real. In Star Wars, Leia wakes up after her home planet is utterly destroyed in front of her and makes a wise crack about the size of a stormtrooper?? WTF?
