Thank you for this video, "short and sweet". I do have a question/request. Before watching your video I was searching the web for this subject and several long videos and explanations basically concur with your post, however, I would like to see what the theory says; for instance, pictures of a gentleman with a round face wearing a spread collar, a cutaway collar, and a straight or point collar, so I could see how the first two do not favor his head shape and the point collar does.

I'm sorry but I disagree. I own several suits with long sleeve shirts and ties since I use them weekly. I sweat easily especially when I'm nervous and have to present. I recently did a big presentation and decided to try a short sleeve with a suit jacket and tie, fully dressed, and it was amazing! I never took off my jacket but I was soooo much more cooler. I'll never knock on short sleeve shirts again. 😂

It definitely does go together. Its just the shade of blue you have to get right. If the blue is too dark, it just looks like you have a fade mismatch from a distance

But you can buy a matching set that has a tie, a pocket square, a pin and cufflinks?

I think one thing you failed to mention - you demonstrated the pocket square not falling by folding it differently... But when you demonstrated that, the handkerchief was as hard as a board! Did you starch it? Or wrap it around cardboard? I couldn't hold my satin fold up like that.

Can you recommend a “fit” when purchasing. IE, modern, slim, etc? Thank you ~

I have a similar body style and have tried tucking in (not food, that’s a given) and it doesn’t look better, as a matter of fact, look at your belt. It is dipped down in front and looks sloppy. Your trouser pockets are pulling from your crotch. The light colored shirt doesn’t help. There is no easy solution but I would say to wear a heavier weight fabric, darker shirt. I’m going to experiment with higher waisted pants. I hope I wasn’t out of line.

im confused. Do you want me to teach drama, dance, and theatre in a suit? Wouldn't that be the same as watching a football or basketball coach in a suit demonstrating exercises? Isnt it better to be in like, elastic clothing, breathable so that you're not sweating at every movement. I just cannot see how you would teach a practical lesson in a fully tailored suit... just seems counter-productive and would get in the way

Watching this in APR 2024 and wow miss you guys. You literally came to mind out of the blue. Anyhow, you all got me into the addition of wearing and collecting waist coats and probably have north of 75 LITERAL different styles and types of them. That wrap waist coat needs to tske residency in my collection! Hoping all is well with you both and that life is being well lived. Gods high blessings to you. Black suit ( preferably with some texture, like tweed , and ofc charcoal ) goes great with brown shoes. Pick a brown tie that matches the suit, or a vest that matches the shoe.

I'd say four if it's for work and you need one or two for casual and/or occasions. Black is essential.

My son is getting a subtle navy pinstripe could he wear paisley tie with it, his favourite pattern?

wool ties are not shiny and look good with summer suits. there is a misconception about wool, wool socks for example are the best for summer time if you don't want your feet swamped and stinking. Of course it all depend of the tie, I mean not an english tweed like tie

The red combo was the only acceptable one for business The others gave a dinner with friends look 🤷🏽‍♂️

Had to google it! My partner keeps on telling me I should not mix black and navy, even though I like it. I always assumed I was missing something because I’m colourblind - I’m glad to hear it’s not just me! 😄
