This discussion is exactly what I need right now leading up to my elk hunt. I really genuinely appreciate the info you boys put out.

When Im at full draw am I supposed to squeeze my shoulder blades together or is the rotational force of pulling my elbow back around behind me enough to keep my back engaged properly?
@RMSGear121 күн бұрын
We do not squeeze our rhomboids together. The tension you are producing is through the string side only. This is a movement that involves subtle increase in string tension that proceeds to a follow-through. Most all will do best by thinking of a movement, not thinking about contracting certain muscles. For instance, you would not do a dumbbell curl by thinking of contracting the biceps. You would simply think about lifting the dumbbell toward your shoulder. I think of building string tension (through back tension) by pressing my shoulder back. It has a direct correlation to scapular retraction for me. But this que might not work for you. To produce the follow-through, some might think of tracing the face with their string hand towards a finish position over the shoulder. As a coach, I have five ways of describing this deliberate finish so that the light bulb will go off for the shooter and the perfect follow-through is accomplished. Your question is a very good one, soTommy and I will talk about this on the next episode that we record (which will be Episode 6 when we get there).

Great time and helpful instruction on the grip trigger. I much prefer it over the fixed limb/string trigger. I felt like I was there with you, gents! And I'm glad I stayed for the killshot on that cattail.😂
