Thanks, Tiffany! I find this story as terrifying as it is heartwarming. But how could the neighbours let this old man deteriorate this way? I know people with dementia can be quite a challenge, all the more reason to sic social services on him. And then, after he was found and part of the cats rescued, why could no one be bothered to leave them a bag of catfood and some bowls of water? Afraid of rodents? The cats would have made short work of them. Probably did, that's how they survived in there for so long.

Thank you. Even just typing this I can't stop the tears. I hate the fact I love cats so much. I believe if I was a millionaire I would buy a ranch and convert it to a cat heaven, go around the world, collect all the homeless cats and let them live happy, tummy full, loved lives for as long as they live. I can't understand why people abandon their cats. There is no excuse these days. There are plenty of rescue centres around. If the gentleman had taken marmalade to one, his life would have been so different. Thank you for giving him the love that he deserves. I hope that he has several years of love and comfort ahead of him.
