Cubase Pro has similar functionality built in. From one quick list and I actually think the auto-tune sounded the best slightly, melodyne always ends to always sound a little plasticky to me somehow, RePitch sort of in the middle. But also maybe I preferred the tuning choices you made with autotune, who knows.

Obviously all videos miss lots of stuff... Studio One and Ableton has lots of stuff more... I've been using booth for 4 years, and I have to say, Studio One is so much better in every regard... You just have to findout the solutions that you have available. They might not be very obvious, but when you discover them and save as a macro... You can not even see Ableton without thinking of a turtle...

I disagree on the warping ease of use when it comes to cubase. Super simple. 14 pro is a massive update too. One of the best ones in ages. I personally think Ableton has grown like it has because they basically gave it away with anything from keyboards and synths, to a pack of plectrums. It was marketing genius. Most people don't swap their DAW once they've learnt one. They may add another, but keep the first one they learned. We get really tribal over them too, like football teams or something. I've used Ableton, cakewalk, fruity loops, reason, logic, pro tools, acid pro, magix and maybe 1 or 2 I've forgotten over 30 odd years. Not tried reaper, studio 1, Luna, serato or bitwig. There's so much choice now and they're all very capable. I just don't want to arsed to learn another like I know cubase. It's like going from being a taxi driver in Manchester, to being a taxi driver in Birmingham (pre sat nav days) it's still a car, it's still driving, it's still a city, it's still the same job. Just now all the streets are different and you've no idea where your going for ages until you learn the new city. At the end of it all, your still a taxi driver. You gained nothing. I can recommend cubase as a fantastic, full featured DAW. Great for every genre, lacks nothing. Comes with fantastic plug ins and instruments, loads of sound libraries. You don't need to spend another penny on 3rd party stuff if you don't want to. I won't sit here and tell you it's the best, but I can confidently say the others won't be better, just different.

I can hear the room in the vocals, it should've been treated before recording, get a booth bruh, or acoustic foam panels for sound proofing, or better yet just get a dynamic mic or ribbon mic those mics are good for rejecting background sound,

Ableton for brainstorming/songwriting/arrangement, specifically in session view. Flatten tracks and move them over to S1 for final mixing and mastering. Especially for building albums on the Project page. The Project Page is great for organizing albums and final mastering. Both have their pain points and key points, but the both of them together is a perfect marriage if you ask me. Thanks!!! Gregor has a video on this workflow, its what got me on the bandwagon.

Hey Lucas, thanks for this video. One question... if you use a screen cap appliation like Screenflow with Sonarworks on the Apollo Output, does the EQ curve get baked into the audio recording via screenflow? This is my biggest issue with using the plugin in Logic as I always have to remember to take it off when making videos and then put it back on when I am mixing!
@LucasMessore
@LucasMessore 6 күн бұрын
Hey! I use SF all the time and that's a great question. I just tested it to double check and Sonarworks does NOT get baked into the recording thank goodness! I guess that makes sense because the processing would be on the output side of your MON L/R whereas when you select your MON L/R as your screenflow audio source it would be recording that on the input side. Hope that helps!

With one huge caveat to all this comparison. For a person who only works off laptop screen S1 is almost unusable. Because it’s interface non scalable. All the menus end up taking all screen and leave you with little of main part. Sadly cold not move to S1 because of that…

you obviously favored Ableton Live 12.1 You must be crazy to think Ableton Midi is better than studio one 7 midi. Ableton Live 12.1 is a DJ DAW. STUDIO ONE is a studio recording DAW. big difference. Audio, video, editing, and sound quality are night and day. Ableton is just an upgraded FL studio. Lol 😂😅😊

Studio one for sure have lots of advanced midi features than ableton, although those doesn't mean speed up your workflow to write midi notes . For example to moving a note right or left we need to hold two keystrokes , which means you lose access with your mouse or stylus . Same thing with edit or playback cursors etc. For peoples who wrote lots of midi notes those second which lost matter . STEP midi also have problem , you can move advanced with "REST" but "BACK" function from toolbar not really makes our cursor back but instead deleting last note which already written . The simple solution maybe is building several "most used" macro " but still, you need to move your mouse in toolbar area which again takes some seconds which better to spend for writing next notes.

Excelente trabajo. Felicitaciones.
