I feel like we can finally put an big check on that list now that we got our new midfield pivot player but what happends when we get Gavi back from injury in pre season games and when La Liga next season starts again then we don't need to talk about anymore about loanly pivot role position anymore good signing i must say but i don't see it confirmed by Fabrizio Romano yet he must confirm that Barca signed him and summer transfer window isn't open just yet it is 2 months away from it to be open until that time a lot can stil happend during that period.

Yes he's coming in as a backup not the actual pivot. Hopefully, and it is quite the wishful thinking, they really end up giving Xavi Zubemendi as he requested. However, as things stand, FC Barcelona still need proper full backs to really complete the squad in order for there to be a consistent and healthy rotation.

I think Casado and Prim's path is very difficuilt, due to not being a perfect pivot and with height too. Casado is 20, and still barely gets minutes by Xavi, who is very quick to use youngsters. Bernal is 16, when he is 20, Guido will be 34 and most likely already gone again. Then Bernal will either be the backup or if he does a Busi/Pau/Yamal, he'll be starting before we know it. Everything points at Bernal being our best bet for a La Masia DM

The only thing good about this is that it is on a free. Players have great season(s) before joining Barcelona and then struggle for various reasons. Let's not forget that Romeu did start well at Barcelona, then was benched for unknown reasons and never regained his form. Not sure why Barcelona are spending money on 30+ year old players who may or may not add anything to the team except "depth" and "Experience" Semedo - Played well for Benfica. Did spend 3 seasons at the club but I don't think he was ever appreciated. All RBs are compared to Dani Alves and it isn't fair to be honest. Dest - Another young player who wasn't given the opportunity to grow. Junior Firpo - Had the best season of his career at Real Betis before joining Barcelona. He even scored against Barcelona the season before joining. Came to Barcelona and rotted on the bench. Romeu - Who I briefly touched on before was one of the, if not the key player that helped Girona play brilliantly last season, finishing 10th. Which at the time was a success for them. Gundogan - Won the league and Champions league for City last season and in my opinion had an average first season for Barcelona. Never really added anything spectacular to the squad. Vitor - Had a great season before joining Barcelona. Turned down all other offers, went out of his way to join the club early, only to rot on the bench. I hope he gets more minutes now. Barcelona need to do a better job with it's signings and bring in players who they are willing to give opportunities to. They need to think long term. Players like Bellerin, Alonso had no right being at the club. Give more opportunities to La Masia, which will help the club financially.

Cancelo is a RB but used as LB, Raphinha is a RW but used as LW, Vitor Roque is a striker used as RW, Ferran is a second striker used as winger, Frenkie is a double pivot used as CDM, Gundogan is best used behind the striker in a line of 4 or 3 but he is used as a midfielder in a line of 3 or CDM and so on.

While being transferred for Xavi, ok? Frenkie was here for 3 years - first 2 years Xavi used Busquets as CDM and in the 3rd year he was looking for a CDM, now in 4th year he is looking for a CDM so clearly he will never used Frenkie as a double pivot. How do you explain this when we know Frenkie is better as double pivot and we have him instead of getting Oriol or using Christensen as CDM? If you get the best CDM in the world, how would you play the midfield? You have a line of 3, CDM and 2 midfielders, right? Frenkie on the right while he is not the best there and Gundogan on the left while he is not the best there? Gundogan was the best in a line of 3 or 4 behind the striker, not in a line of 3. And if those 2 are playing what about Pedri and Gavi, always benched? Or are you going to play Gavi and bench Frenkie or Gundogan? And Pedri can be sold outright, cause he will be the 3rd option, same like Ansu Fati, playing 20 minutes here and there?
