5:35 Spot on, Adrian. I am the proud owner of a C63 Sealander. (39mm in midnight blue with the, correct, Bader bracelet). It's practically perfect. The Lightcatcher case is a work of art and the adjustable clasp puts the bracelets of so-called 'premium' brands to shame. Honestly, if you buy an Aqua Terra instead of this, you've got more money than sense. However, what it lacks is a COSC certification. It's running at +4 seconds a day so I definitely can't, and won't, complain, but, that magic word 'Chronometer' carries a lot of weight.

I still prefer the gold version. This one’s nice, but just another blue dialed, steel integrated. They’re a dime a dozen nowadays. Even if, this is still one of the better ones, stylistically anyhow. I’m rather disappointed by the movement though…no COSC and a woefully inadequate power-reserve for a modern mechanical timepiece at this or any price point for that matter.

Wear a really nice sub 2 or 3k watch - say Longines, Breitling - safer. Better value as well.

I was able to replace the electronic module myself in a Tag Heuer ETA movement which conked out after 25 years and did not respond to a new battery replacement. Although it was a Chinese 'knock off' module for 10 pounds on ebay, it has given the watch a new lease of life at a low cost compared to say a spring driven watch which I would never attempt to fix myself even if it was old and far too complex to disassemble by a penny pinching amateur. I did have a Seiko Presage spring drive but sold it as like you say it was a bit of a hybrid and sort of soulless with out a beating heart (no tick) and very expensive to service as only Seiko themselves have the experience to service or repair them.

In 2004 my Rolex Explorer 1016 purchased new in january89 stopped working,it was dropped at Rolex for service,after approx 6 weeks i received the watch back at a cost of AUD643,it looked brand new and now gains about 5 seconds per day after 36 years of daily wear

Just got my gmt2 serviced (moisture damage), 1970.91 total, and it looks amazing. Rolex was awesome the whole way, and LBG in CT was great as always.

My experience of the Twelve non COSC timekeeping is excellent. CW underpromise and overachieve. +2/+4 secs a day. Consistently.

I'd take the Tudor BB Heritage 41mm 79230n over anything else. Imho, it's simply watch perfection.
