Saturation divers get a day rate and if the go in the chamber will get hourly rate on top of that. It’s common to go on a Saturation job but not get selected to be in the Saturation team , hence do not get the hourly rate. When you get to a level of expertise and experience the company wants and the job requires for, you can fetch as high as $1000 a day, even more. Also the rates depend on which company you work for , the region you work at. I have heard of companies paying the Sat divers about $500 per day, all in. Sometimes it’s not about the money, there’s also safety factor. All diving job are tough. When you get into Saturation it becomes harder. You spend more than 5 hours in the water, and if the job requires, there are times when they will push you to do more. If you work in the places where they follow regulations and safety this will not happen. But then there are companies who do not follow such policies. Your next question, some Sat divers chase Sat jobs and they can get 3-4 Sats a year. Depends on location and job. Most are contented with 1-2 Sat jobs and Air diving job, rest of the time. Hello buddy, you mean commercial diver? Scuba is recreational diving. There are a few commercial diving schools. I heard there’s one in South Africa, Tasmania and Scotland. Canada also has a good commercial diving school. Hope this help.💪🏼

You can start by going to a dive school, this will qualify you to be an Air diver up to 50m. After saving up some of your earnings , you can enrol in a Saturation Diving school. That will qualify you to go deeper than 50m and breathing Heliox (Helium + Oxygen) and you get to go for all the big jobs.😜. To do that you will also need additional skill set to make yourself marketable, like DMT (diver medic technician) or 3.2u inspection diver, etc… Take care.. 👍🏼😁

Salam . Nowadays with all the regulation and laws, the number of fatalities are low. As long as they follow the procedures the chances of things going wrong are minimise. Usually at the planning stage most of the problem would have been looked into. For me welding underwater is abit harder. Because of the elements like cold water, the tide, waves, electric shock, example if you do not have a good earth connection. All this can be obstacles to overcome. But once you get used to, it gets easy. I like it when I can see the molten metal forming at the tip of the welding rod, when the water visibility is good. Take care my German friend👋🏼👍🏼😁

As a diver maybe not advisable, but as a Dive Tech (if you have a electrical or mechanical qualification) or a Life Support Technician (will have to undergo a LST course) ..are your available options. That’s the reason why every Saturation team will have a Diver Medic Technician (DMT). He will have to stabilise the injured diver and provide medical aid. Meanwhile the topside will deco this team out. (🤔yeah you have to endure the pain through out the deco process). My team mate had to be sutured by one of us because he cut himself at the foot near to the right ankle. We took 3 days to deco to surface.

Yes, only for the divers in saturation. This will be launched in an emergency, set sail to nearest Hyperbaric Life Support facility on shore, so that the sat divers can undergo decompression😁

@@poione42 It’s claustrophobic for sure. For our job, we have the Hyperbaric Rescue Facility about 5 hours sail, from the furthest field. The 12 divers will need to stay in that lifeboat chamber through out. There’s also a small toilet at the end of that chamber (cannot really see from my video) By then the emergency response team will have the crane and riggers ready to receive the Hyperbaric Life Boat; carry it and connect to the chamber of the rescue facility. Diver transfer into the chamber and begin their deco.👍🏼😁

Hello there 👋🏼 ALST work among other things, consist of preparing food for the Sat divers prior to their start of bell run(their 1 hours notice to dive), and their clothes for work. Also they have to prepare the hot water suits, their boots, cold mineral water bottle, sodasorp canisters, etc. Meanwhile Life Support Supervisors (LSS) and Life support technician (LST) have to prepare the gases for the next chamber to be used. Calculate the amount of gases needed for the duration of the project and what is being used daily by the Sat Teams and send out the report to management onboard or onshore. Usually when all 3 chambers are occupied . They are busy running around for some sort of ‘lock runs’ or toilet flushes. On top of that when we do split level Saturation dives. Bail outs and On board gases have to be filled by them in according to the mixture of the current bell working depth… work carries on and on😁

Oh! the LSTs are not confined in the chamber like the Sat divers. They are free to ‘roam’ around like the rest of the vessel’s crew. Only Sat diver remained in the chamber for up to 28 days, depends on the project and schedule.🤗

Technically any non diving personnel can be an ALST. I’ve seen a non diver becoming an ALST. In reality some company prefer to use a diverALST because the person can also be used as a standby diver if they suddenly decided to do Air diving. This person could be an extra hand. But the main concern actually is about job availability-(are there much job to go around?). Many guys have Life Support Tech ticket but struggled to find a slot as a ALST. They need the hours before they can seat for the exam to promote to LST. You will need to travel to places where they are doing Saturation diving regularly in the beginning and spend a lot of time away from family..hope this answer your question.🤔😁

That’s true , however divers and supervisors are afraid they might entangle with our umbilical and drag us off . ROV supervisors are also similarly concern that the ROV get pull-off. The bridge crew is also aware that if our subsea references like taut wire and HPR beacons get affected we can lose control of the vessel. Those are some of our concerns. 👌🏼😁

Hello there Ajith., To be a recognised underwater welder you will have to go through the underwater welding course. Those courses usually include welding practices for topside (in the workshop) and most importantly underwater welding practices (at the pool or tank).After the practice, they will conduct a coded test to see how good your welds are. This will usually involve a break test of your test piece to see how much penetration you have in the test piece and it will also involve an inspection by a surveyor.You will need to find an internationally recognised underwater welding school if you want to make a career out of this. There’s welding school in UK and Malaysia that I know off, that teaches to the AWS standards. Hope this info is useful for you😀

Hello there! If you have diving qualifications like HSE part 1 you will be able to work offshore. If not you can work inshore . In Singapore , KBA associate offer a diving course for you to work inshore👍🏼💪🏼

If you want to work in Singapore you will need a commercial diving certificate, course is conducted at KBA associates. This will qualify you to work inshore and in Singapore port limits. The video I took is me at INPP France for my Saturation Qualification. Before this Saturation ticket , you will need a HSE part 1 or ADAS part 3, surface supplied diving up to 50m. And having these tickets you will be able to work offshore. Hope this helps 😁👍🏼

Ya, the Hyperbaric lifeboat full of Sat divers will be launch and sail to the Hyperbaric Rescue facility on shore, where the Saturation divers will go through with their decompression or ‘deco’ as we call it. This can take days..More on this in the next video😁👍🏼stay tune ☺️
