Why is there no setting for gain?

its done behind the scenes from the computer. It makes it more user friendly to setup when the computer dials the setting in. Think they do this, cause 95% of garmin users setup their units wrong or don't really know how to dial it in properly to start.

Great video. I’m just looking to purchase one of these now for European carp fishing. How accurately will this take you back to a waypoint. Within 1 yard?

@@tomc2456 yes most GPS are accurate within 5’(1.6m). Mind you, having a heading sensor helps line yourself up better over open water when casting.

@ usually once every 5-6 years. The eliteFS I would say is midway through the cycle. Still very relevant.

About a year and a half ago, I bought a boat. The seller gave me an Uninstaller Lowrance Hook that he received from a previous owner when he bought the boat. Neither gentlemen could figure out the system. I am used to Hummingbirds...which are just about idiot proof to install. This Lowrance Hook only came with the unit, the snap on gimble, and the transducer. I can only find a spot to plug in the transducer. I do not even see a port for power. Where is the power port located and where can I buy a power cable that fits it? Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

which model hook do you have and size? Any lowrance dealer will have the power cable. Their push in style connecters on the back left

it all depends on which one you connect. I know most call it split shot or triple shot ice transducer. Their should be a silver tag the plug end of the transducer that will give you the code to use

@@hookedntravel it's an 8-pin Hook Reveal ice transducer 83/200, I see an option in the list for a generic 83/200 transducer but not a specific ice transducer in the list. I will be ice fishing tomorrow so I will see how the generic option works. Thanks

that's the airmar transducer? Airmars you usually just hit custom and set your frequency on the unit depending on what your range capability the transducer has.

take the fish ID mode off in the settings. I think your talking about the fish arches?

@hookedntravel Yes because when I turn on the sonar it only shows me fish and I can't figure out which fish so I just want it to show me a rainbow show me without the edges

@ thats because the unit has fish ID mode on. You'll have to go into the menu settings and turn OFF the FISH ID mode. It's under the sonar settings. You should see the normal fish arches after that

@ like the indicator that on screen that’s shows which way the transducer is pointed in relation to the boat

@@Brandon-ko1vx thats only on forward facing sonar unit Eagle Vision. This is a base alone unit "Eagle" replacement for the Hook Series. There two completely different stand alone units.

Just bought this unit for the side scan capability, couple ? I have a elite unit on the front transducer is on my terrova trolling motor but I don’t think the transducer works anymore how can I find a replacement transducer I also have a hook 9 at the driver console and don’t think that transducer works either if I got a new transducer for the hook can I run the eagle and the hook as down scan and the eagle at the same time not sure what transducers go with these units the tags are gone off the wires thanks for any thoughts

get the update from the lowrance website under legacy products. Grab the update and put it on an SD card. Then put it in, turn on the unit. It'll run

from the captains unit? if not he should give you a file .GPX. that is universal for all GPS's that they all read. You can import that file with all the waypoints in it. Hopefully that answers your question

Loved this tutorial but why would you need 2D if you have the 3D image? Wouldn't it be great if you could save your data settings and just click one button to add your "saved" data items into every QuickView?

@@terryknibbs9990 depending on what the base map is or what card comes with it. The sidescan feature is there in the unit. Just make sure you have a transducer that can do sidescan

no it wont. That mode is designed for retail use. Since alot of the times were filming in the store and not on the water we use it pretend like were in the boat. Use it on regular when you're following along.

Thank you for sharing this info, I came accross to this video to remember how to create maps on my Elite Ti2. I have a question, I’m using a free Genesis social MAP (created and loaded by someone else) from a small lake, the rains have changed the water levels by 5-7 feet, is there anyway I can adjunt this new water level without mapping the lake again? Or should a re-map the lake again? Thanks

usually its done with the individual files by the person who uploaded them. There might be a setting within your unit to adjust the depth level kind of like tides. I dont use it, so i dont have it on th top of my head.
