@darwiniandude blast from the past... I also bought that app back in 2014... I just restored my old 2013 iMac and was bummed to see that Cathode isn't in my app store purchase history any more (even though the iLife apps from 2011 are there!) It's a long shot, but were you able to get the actual app to reinstall?
@darwiniandude
@darwiniandude 2 күн бұрын
I owned the Mac App Store version, and yes it does not appear to be in the purchase history anymore. Likely because it's no longer secure for SSH use. I have a lot of older games and apps that still show up there. To my knowledge 2.4.1 is the last version. You can look up the Secret Geometry website on The Internet Archive, even 2019, and download the demo from there, an archive of the 2.4.1 demo hosted on Amazon S3. Because I made these videos years ago the developer in response once gave me a license key, which I was appreciative of. So my 2.4.1 'demo' does work as the full version on Apple Silicon under Sonoma at least.

Yes, the OP-1 Field comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, (like what you’d use for an iPhone 15 or later) and it charges perfectly with the Apple 18W USB-C AC Adaptor.

Do you know if this also works for OP-1 (not field)? I am able to power MF with OP-1 through a DAW but can't get it to work with USB MIDI straight from OP-1 to MF

Looks like field can function as a “MIDI host” and original probably can’t
@darwiniandude
@darwiniandude Ай бұрын
Sorry, only just saw this comment :) Yeah you’re correct - the original can’t be a host. However there are midi converter boxes which will accept a USB midi device (think any midi controller, inc OP-1 original) and convert the signal to/from standard midi. I bought one and used it briefly with the original OP-1, I think the brand was Doremidi? But I didn’t use it a great deal because I later got the Field.

Hi mate. Just got mine a 09 manual. Current 4wd market is crazy expensive and I am new to 4wd scene. So thought this will be good to learn 4wd skills. I'm curious to know what modifications you have done to this car during your ownership? Would be great if we could connect to share some ideas!
@darwiniandude
@darwiniandude Ай бұрын
I no longer have the car sadly, I liked it but I had internal engine failure around 100,000k’s. So that sort of put me off the brand :/ I’ve had no issues serious engine type issues with Mitsubishi vehicles ever over a number of them so I went back to those. SX4 was great though, hope yours is and continues to be reliable :) since I need more space now for family, current main vehicle is a Delica D5, a ‘soft roader’ Japanese import 4WD van.

Thanks mate. The j20b engine are known to be reliable and in general Suzuki too but hey there are obviously some that are bad. I do hope mine isn't. Congratulations on the Delica. Was your SX4 Manual or an Auto?
@darwiniandude
@darwiniandude Ай бұрын
Mine was a J20A, 2007. Only car so far I’ve ever bought brand new. If yours is a J20B, it’ll be fine I’d say. Also, if it’s still going some 15 years later, it should be fine :) Mine was having low end knocking issues in 2010. On the old SX4club forums (dunno if it still exists) there was a big thread, “the engine failure thread” - mine still drove ok but I traded it in to a dealer, told them it had noises etc and I didn’t trust it. I didn’t want to sell it to a person. Anyway they rang me later to get the radio code (I’d changed it) and mentioned on the phone they’d had to replace the whole engine. Which is what I suspected. But as you say that sort of thing can happen with any car. But understandably I guess it put me off them :) I didn’t really do any mods, I mean I added a 12V outlet in the boot if that counts. :) It was manual. Great little car except for the whole engine thing. Due to my work commute, I kind of wanted an auto… but I test drive both and the auto just sucked all the fun out of it. I had to buy the manual. The manual was great.

How do you connect the OP-1 with the B2600?
@darwiniandude
@darwiniandude 8 ай бұрын
The B2600 has standard midi in, and USB midi, plus CV and Gate inputs. The OP-1 Field can actually host USB midi devices - the Arturia Microfreak works, my Presonus AudioBox Two (a simple 2in 2 out audio + midi interface) - but for some strange reason USB-B to USB-C on the OP-1 Field did not work. I own a Yamaha BT-MD01 USB midi interface. It’s a dongle that plugs into Midi ports and sends and receives Bluetooth MIDI, BLE. The OP-1 Field can talk to BLE midi devices. So that’s what I mostly use with the OP-1f, and was using here. Note that the dongle is powered from Midi OUT - B2600 has no out, only Thru. But it works powered from Midi Thru, I just had to set the OP-1f to not accept midi in notes, otherwise the notes sent to the B2600 would loop back to the OP-1f again. Hope that makes sense :)

Absolutely - times have changed. Their is aesthetic choice in the piano timbre and even the brand and model of piano sampled, but then the sample rom size and processing techniques used. How sympathetic string resonance is emulated and so on.
