This is one of the reasons why I am moving my successful shop out of Etsy and to Goimagine - Etsy is a sinking ship with all the brutal policies and no support and reseller oversaturation. I hope over time community on G. will grow more to make it all easier for handmade as I think I can drive my own traffic at the moment but I really don`t mind sharing and help boosting other people`s good work. The best way to get the word out about this platform is to go from state to state, speaking about it at creative conventions, etc., while giving attendants a perk for joining/applying that very day, week, or month! That's the grassroots way, and it is extremely powerful! Hire someone to do this, or do it yourself!... Get some events organized! That's how you'll really get to the heart of people to show them that you genuinely care. KZbin videos are so limited. People love going to events, especially ones geard towards art, creativity, and handmade businesses. I have to tell you that I have NEVER heard of Goimagine before today, and I have been selling online since 2006! Etsy shop owners are not the sole reason why Etsy grew so quickly. They (Etsy) really put the work in by speaking at venues and conventions, doing interviews, holding public conferences, etc. I have been an Etsy shop owner since 2008, and God knows I've wanted a better platform to sell on since Etsy went Bazooka! I have scoured the internet for other options for at least 3 years now... You've got to get the word out better! Spend the real time and money that it takes to get noticed! I've looked over your website, and I sincerely believe that if you use this approach, you will see massive growth! Goimagine has real potential, as you well know, but you guys have got to push harder.

Honestly, these KZbinrs selling "passive" handmade schemes are the modern scammers.

I've just joined and getting my shop populated. I'm honestly frustrated and a little disappointed; the MAIN thing is every time I go to goimagine it's the same STATIC listings. It makes it appear that nothing has changed or new. I HIGHLY recommend that you have random listings appear each time someone comes to the site. There are other little idiosyncrasies that I'm sure will be worked out in time.

Perhaps this saw such success because it appeals to the intended target market: makers. Hand made. Hand held signs. It's low pressure, too. Fun. Perhaps the homespun quality is perfect for makers, whereas the other, more highly produced type will be more appealing to buyers so they can feel like the items offered by makers are done professionally and are of high quality. Just my initial thoughts! Thanks for this, and imo, the second version was far more appealing than the first.

As a company that supports children's charities, maybe you could see about a 'kids corner' where charities can create a shop page to post crafts made by the kids the are helping to increase the income they receive thus allowing them to help even more kids. I know this would be a big challenge to tackle with various laws about charities and possible child labor, but I would love to get a keepsake made by a kids I had a hand in helping.

I make and sell original meditations and visualizations for self-improvement. Am I allowed to sell on your platform? I've been on Etsy for almost 2 years and have been really unhappy with the experience over the past 4 months.

This is a long proven market strategy! Shopping centers have done this for ages, heck even food trucks figured it out. When you put a group of businesses together they feed off each other. That is until the group becomes too big and diversified like the big E did, which is now more like a city, where you can get lost in the crowd.

I opened up a Goimagine shop but sold nothing and had monthly fees to pay. So I closed the shop. I make 12-15k a year on Etsy. I just don’t think there are the customers on Goimagine yet.

I am going to join for many reasons, but mainly because I can import my Etsy shop and save tons of time

After being on social media since 2009 and being a seamstress/ Costume/ Cosplay designer and having just about EVERY trying to convince me that 2, 3, 4 weeks was too long to 'wait' for a custom made item because they can 'get it faster' somewhere else..... and screaming into the void that none of that stuff is actually handmade. This is the first time I have heard someone say it out loud and a 'big' app or platform.

PLEASE consider opening up to Canadians! Our entire population of our whole country is equivalent to California.🙏 I know, easier said than done, but at the very least open the digital part up to us. This way you don’t have to worry about shipping and customs etc. as a Canadian, I’d like to secure my shop name. Can we at least do that while we wait? I’m ready to build my site and bring my fan base with me to buy. 90% of my customers are American!

I saw this on one of your other office hours presentations, and it really made me decide for sure to sign on with Goimagine. It is a relief to know you won't be going corporate, I love the community vibe at Goimagine and am proud to be getting on the team there. I really doubt the founders of other so called handmade markets are worried about homeless people and finding ways to help children, you have a conscience and I am glad you shared this story, I found it touching and speaking very loudly about your character.
