Hey! Thank you for clearing most of the questions for me. I have one question, the 12v outlet in the trunk, does it turn off when the car is off or remains on when the car is off and locked? Many people are saying that it does not turn off, need your advice on this.
@FF54Vic5 ай бұрын
So in some instances, they are correct as does not turn off right away. However, the vehicles electrical system times out after a certain amount of time. Have under dash lights and lights under the seats in my wife’s car they remain on after the car is shut off and locked until the electrical system times out. The stereo system is the same way because it is on that electrical system. I think the time out time is like five to maybe 10 minutes at the electrical system remains active once the vehicle is shut off. We have not had any issues with battery draining or anything of that nature with the system being hooked up. I would suggest going into some thing that when you put a test light on it it comes on when the ignition is on and when you shut the ignition off that light goes off just keep in mind that it does take a few minutes for the electrical system to de-charge the whole car

Do you have a list of sensors that were affected by the installation of the bar? I am about to buy one but am looking for the cons. I have the exact same edition and color.
@FF54Vic5 ай бұрын
Honestly, on the big bend addition, the nudge bar clears the sensor, so it really doesn’t affect any sensors on that particular model. I know on the Outer Banks one you have to move the one sensor up so it doesn’t pick up on the nudge bar.

@FF54Vic6 ай бұрын
I honestly don’t remember it’s been a couple years since I did those however, if you cut the wires and on the side that is closest to the speaker, you take that and touch those wires to a negative and a positive on a 9 V battery you should be able to see whether the speaker goes or if it comes down if it goes up then The layout that you have into the battery is correct that’s a pretty good way to figure out which one is the positive factory and it doesn’t hurt the actual factory speaker because of it being such a low volt

I literally mentioned to my body tech the other day about using that technique and he said he has never even heard about doing an oil change that way. I doubt VW recommends the oil change be done that way. Cars like BMW and Mercedes require oil changes to be done that way. Even on brand new Mini coopers, they don’t use an oil suction tool, they lift the car and pull the plug.
