couple of tips. press the shaft out before taking the hub loose from the suspension. put a jack under the control arm before trying to take the top hub bolt out. if all else fails, add lots of heat.

That's a lot of lumber to add, couldn't you just raise the interfering rafters up a few feet? I'm trying to put a ceiling up higher in my garage, but not to accommodate a lift.

Why didn’t you just mark the the bottom rack spline first? Your video says you did at a later point, but the results would say if you did you didn’t re install on the mark. A lot of unneeded bullshit could have been avoided had you done the procedure as the FSM details from Toyota. I am looking at it right now. Also never use a cheap Chinese steering shaft shame shame lol. Decent video otherwise.

i put a mid rise lift in my single car garage last week, it hit one ceiling joist, so i converted that one joist into scissor joist using mostly aLL the wood already in place, no need to over engineer things. IT took me just over 2 HRS. up in north maine we get high snow loads but i installed a metal roof 4 yrs ago which gets rid of snow.

Thanks for posting. Suggest whenever possible, leave the shock holder band strap thingie in place. Cut it when youre ready to extend the shock into its location on the vehicle, be ready to guide it quickly. Stay gold.

I'm here because an associate of mine removed his garage rafters and it left him with a HUGE amount of overhead space. I asked him "Don't you need those to maintain the structural integritiy of the garage? He just said "naw my garage is fine. Strong as ever. ". I have been chewing on doing mine every since. But the kicker is I DYI'ed an 18' addition to turn my 2 car into a 4 car years ago and I added the rafters because I thought they held the walls against the outwardly pressure of the A-frame pushing down . I didn't need gables .

So glad I watched this video prior to tackling this job. My bolts were heavily corroded. I used an Induction Heater Bolt Removal tool and pb blaster. Cracked loose the bolts and then patiently loosened and retighten repeatedly and was able to get every last bolt off without snapping one. Thanks for the video, as it helped me come up with a strategy.

When cutting out the slab why didn’t you use the saw and cut it into smaller pieces? I would think that would prevent swinging that hammer so much? I am about to do this job and at 55 years old I want to swing the hammer as little as possible.😂 Great video though. Very helpful!👍

How did you get the slack safety you release to be able to lower the lift arm back down? I can not figure out how to get the arm down after installing the power pump.

Did your under hood temperatures go up? My old truck melted the upper control arm bushings. Did you install new heat shields?

Have an 03 gx. Bout to install dt long tubes. Will my tubes hit the stearing control linkage if I add a 1" body lift?

Just finished headers on my 03, yoir video was helpful to smooth out the process. But I do have to say the dipstick does not go between those pipes. 1 and 2 in means front to back. Needed to hit the furthest outside gap in the pipes and it barely needed tweaking. Retained all the factory holes and no spacer needed.
