I am in library and listening to library sounds am i crazy?

Here is a little story to keep you entertained while you're relaxing with your hot drink and listening to these peaceful sounds... You have been walking for almost a day. The rain started again around an hour ago. Softly at first, an almost unnoticeable light sprinkle, but then gradually harder and harder. It doesn't bother you. You like the rain, and you keep walking. Walking. Walking. An still, more walking. Walking deeper and deeper into the unusual forest that you have found yourself lost within. It's strange that you have found yourself lost. Especially within a forest, considering that you don't even live near one, and even more strange that you don't even seem to remember how. A thought had occurred to you earlier that this could just be a dream, but somehow, you knew it wasn't. Usually, in situations like this you'd be freaking out. Afraid of the circumstances that have led you here to this strange situation, and concerned by your lack of memory of HOW you got here. But not today. Today you feel an unfamiliar yet welcomed peace residing within you. Peace that you have never known before, and that seems more fulfilled with each step you take into the forest. It feels so warm and comfortable. Like remembering a cherished childhood memory. You feel happy, and now that you think about it, you're not even sure if you are looking for a way out. You're just walking. Walking uninterrupted and deeper still. Just walking. You're not even feeling tired from all the walking. The opposite in fact. Each step you take deeper into the forest, you feel more and more energetic. Walking still. And as the last light of the day gradually recedes and gives way to the darkness of night, you notice the rain has come to a complete stop. After continuing walking for a while longer you eventually stop, for what feels like the first time in hours. You look around and inspect your surroundings. You are standing on a pathway. A pathway that looks almost brand new, with fresh laid bricks. The pathway is lit up by Victorian style lanterns on both sides, dotted every 20 metres or so. You don't remember them being there earlier. You don't even remember when they lit up. Strange. Also, considering how much rain has fallen, the pathway is bone dry. Also strange. Now that you think about it, so are you. Your clothes feel dry to the touch. Stranger still. But these things feel trivial, and are certainly not the strangest part of today. You continue to look around. To both the left and right of you there are countless trees. Large oaks by the looks of them, but it's hard to make out, because even though the pathway is quite well lit, it's almost complete darkness beyond in the forest. After you've inspected your surroundings you decide to continue your walk down the pathway, deeper again into the forest. You're still feeling calm and at peace. The tall trees sway smoothly in the wind. You hear two owls hooting back and forth high above. You smile. After another 30 minutes or so of walking you are suddenly faced with a decision. Left or right. The pathway has now split into two pathways, with two available directions. Both are identical in appearance. You are about to start walking down the left pathway when all of a sudden you hear something. A noise. Coming from somewhere along the right pathway. Music? Is that music you hear. Yes, It is. An almost familiar tune. Something merry. Like something you'd hear in one of those old music boxes. You make a start down the right pathway, slowly at first with caution, but then faster, with curiosity. Is that laughter? Yes, it is. Now you can hear laughter accompanying the soft music. The two sounds lead you toward their origin like a sirens song. As you near the source of these intriguing sounds you notice that the pathway starts to become less of a pathway and more of a dirt road, and then finally a dry dusty clearing within the trees. You look across the clearing and see a small cottage. It is made of creamy white stone and has a large red and white mushroom for a roof. It has a small chimney on top, and smoke is drifting lazily out. As you stare, almost transfixed at this peculiar looking building, you're startled back to your senses by more sounds of laughter coming from within. Louder this time. What a beautifully unique house you think. You slowly head toward the house, and the smell of freshly baked cookies hits your nostrils. They smell exactly like the cookies your grandma used to make for you when you were a small child. You realise for the first time how hungry you are. You continue toward the pretty looking cottage when all of a sudden you become cold. Ice cold in fact. Not gradually. But Immediately. Your whole body stiffens and the feelings of calm and peacefully dissipate. Wind around you picks up quickly and becomes almost aggressive. Your hair is blowing in all directions. The trees in the forest surrounding you start to violently sway back and forth. Currently, you are standing around half way between where the clearing of the forest begins, and the cottage stands. You no longer feel peaceful. You only feel afraid. Should you run toward the cottage and try for shelter, you wonder. And why do you feel so uneasy so suddenly. Before you can give that train of thought any consideration you hear twigs snapping behind you. Back over towards the opening of the clearing where you stood yourself just moments ago. You immediately spin around to look over there, and then you see him. Tall. Dark. Cloaked. Around 9 ft tall. His pitch black cloak, loosely fitting his tall figure was swaying in the wind. You cannot see his face because his hood covers the whole thing. In his right hand he holds a big scythe. And you notice that the hand he uses to grip it doesn't have any skin. The hand is all bone. You stand there. Petrified. Unable to think, let alone move. As you stare toward the terrifying figure, he slowly lifts his cloaked left arm. You notice the hand on his left arm is also bones. His raised left arm is up and his boney finger is pointing at you. Almost pointing into your very soul it feels like. Then the same boney finger starts to slowly beckon you. Inviting you over. No you think. I won't come with you. I WON'T! But even as you're thinking it you realise that you're also being tempted. How? What's happening you think. Something inside yourself is willing you to start walking over. Almost like your mind is being tricked. Or controlled. How can my body be about to start walking over there against my will! Finally, you manage to grab hold of your senses just long enough to snap out of your fear induced paralysis. And just before you are about to start running full speed away from the figure and towards the cottage, it all stops. The wind, gone. The figure, gone. The ice cold feeling inside and all over your body, gone. Even the fear has disappeared. All gone. It all stopped so suddenly that it was as if it hadn't even happened. But it had, and you knew it. Feeling a little uneasy, but somehow not too afraid, you continue across to the cottage, your vulnerable mind racing at 100 miles per hour. You could hear that the laughter and jolly sounds coming from within had returned. This also helped ease your nerves even further. You're now at the front of the house. Calm, but sweating a little. To the left hand side of the door, there is a small window. It is covered by a blue and white spotted curtain, but there is enough of a gap for you to sneak a look inside. You lean in closer, and as you subtly take a peep through the gap in the curtain you almost jump out of your skin. A tiny man-like creature, with large pointy ears and a green pointy hat walks past the window. You duck down, heart racing. He doesn't notice you. Phew, you think. Slowly, you raise your head again to get another look inside. Then you instantly see another one of the man-like creatures. This one sitting. However, this time you don't jump upon seeing him. This one is sitting in a small rocking chair, smoking a wooden pipe and laughing along with some of the other creatures, who are gathered around a table full of what look like candies and sweets. The sweets are all stacked inside glass bowls littered up and down the long table. What unusual looking creatures you think. They remind you of the tiny elves you used to see in fairy tale books as a child. You back away from the window and turn to face the front door. Will you Knock? Yes you think. You're hungry, and it definitely seems better than staying out here with whatever that tall dark thing was. The front door is big and yellow. It has a pearl coloured unicorn horn for a door knocker. You take a deep breath, lift the door knocker and then let go. Bang, it goes. Louder than you expected. The laughter inside fades to a murmur, and then you hear footsteps. Your heart starts beating faster. A moment later the door slowly opens.... 🚪

I have to record bits of this to send it to my team for a group project ('theatre' but its just audio) and the switch from listening to the best sound cues ive ever heard and spooky harp music to upbeat kpop like stuff is something. Even though its just an assingment and i doubt we'll have to upload it, if we do i'll make sure to give proper credit. not even sure i can do this in the first place but I kinda need the A+

i worked in a library and it didn't really sound like this but i guess it is dependent on where you go and the rules and regulations in place, sometimes u hear people secretly snacking (i never really mind) or a tap of a foot to music, or kids in the kids area going crazy as hell because they just found the best book ever (its paw patrol or bluey) but this is nice i never thought i'd come across people interested in have this ambience at home

Listening to this while reading the Ballad of Never After, and I just wish so much that there was another universe out there, with medieval fantasies, royal romances, and just magic! I need someone who could call me “Little Fox” and I want more than anything in life to be able to live in a world like this.

Combine this with Sunset at Glengorm by Kevin MacLeod and you have one hell of an ambiance for writing horror stories in the forest.
