It's not good to snap it off like that. Cut it at soil level. That way more spears will come up.

If you feed it through the planer, won't you get the same results without gluing to another board?
@salvagedcreation
@salvagedcreation 5 ай бұрын
Not always, great question btw! The planer alone will not get a long lateral “twist” out of marginal material. If you can picture a board that wobbles on a flat surface at the opposite corners. Glueing it to a true surface and keeping it from rotating will give you a true and flat side, then you can flip it once and you’re golden.

Never seen this method...is that just plastic
@salvagedcreation
@salvagedcreation 5 ай бұрын
Yes, it’s just plastic dropcloth material. I thought of it after I spilled some epoxy on it. I was using it to protect the floor and the epoxy peeled off very easily. So I thought about trying this and it worked very well.

Why not use real turquoise to go along with the beautiful wood. I live in New Mexico and have access to all kinds of precious stones. Great way to plug the hole with material. I'll try that on my next table. Very informative video.

Hey..Thanks for the video. I knew you were a midwestern. I'm a Yooper. I haven't ever built anything. My husband is carpenter, but he doesn't want to help. He's still working full time. I did my best to save a 150 year old Live Oak in my Houston neighborhood, but no - the developer could not move the driveway. I have a beautiful piece of the truck which I have treated, but it has large cracks in it. I liked your video, although I have CRUSHED TINY STONES. I's not power. I'm hoping to mix it with some gold dust. I understand the repetition of the crushed stone and glue, and you are sanding it. However, I do not know how to sand, or what to use. I think we have hand sanders somewhere in the garage, but could you clarify that please? Seems like with all the information, social media, and people in the world, it should be easier to get help. A big problem is that I can't just "pick it up" cuz it takes both my husband and myself to turned it from one side to the other. It's heavy.

The crushed turquois is just sanded and finished. I did not add any color to it per say. The finish added a little warmth of yellow to the project typically.

Research this but domesticated asparagus will live for 25 30 years most asparagus that you see growing wild is a heroin variety which has been around for last 150 years and is resilient to all diseases except the stupid Beatles do you know if a couple take them up make your garden keep the seeds and reseed the area where you got that plant from plus .

There is a link in the video description for purchasing the crushed stone. I use a 5” orbital for sanding it flush. Honestly that’s the most common question I’ve gotten so maybe I’ll do a sanding video. Thanks for the comment btw. Blessings, Scot
