I sure wish I had these tools when I was 5 to 10 years old. Sounds like an excellent tool to develop a sense of calm from within at a young age. So important with so much bombardment of information today.

Thank you. Some great content here. Quote: "Your entire system is built for movement. We are born into movement and when we're not moving we're really not thriving in many ways. So I just think it's walking is just the the perfect thing for us humans to do and it might be worth you know doing it just for the sake of doing it as opposed to just doing it because you've got to get from A to B."

I’m so pleased to have come across this discussion tonight, thank you it was a joy to listen too. Since late 2022 I have tapped into many of David’s free lessons along with some by other presenters, during this time I’ve had to deal with plantar fasciitis, followed by debilitating bursitis of the hip. With the last infringement on my functioning, the Feldenkrais lessons dropped off whilst I attended and am still attending to the medical conservative management. One consequence encountered was walking became exceedingly difficult for many weeks, fortunately I’ve linked with aquarobic group since January and can now feel my body moving better. Just this week I commenced some lessons by another practitioner which was revealing to me and Im encouraged and hopeful from your presentation tonight that I’ll improve further if I continue with Feldenkrais. Thank you again for so kindly sharing your knowledge with the community.

Thank you for such a generous share. I enjoyed your honest wisdom and tempo when speaking. Few things made me wonder, for example the thumb takes up so much brain space..unless we are not moving it, which see often. So could you say to knowingly move the thumb can stimulate the NS ? How soft and wonderful! love the bell hand would you include both hands or one at a time? I also love self scan!!! body scan always sounds and feels so medical. Thank you I do plan to try your lesson. Darlene

This was an interesting theoretical perspective, but I need to search elsewhere for practical application. Thank you

I like your intro about connection between feet movement and jaw. I sense that myself. It's well presented. But then you offer unrelated exercises like tongue movements. There is disconnect.

But how long does it take? Like with 65 years of Fibromyalgia, who’s got time or patience for another 2 or 3 years to get out of pain?

24min 10sec Feldenkrais is about ‘getting comfortable in discomfort’ - to be able to live a more full life. I think this is great.

So insightful with regards to what happened during Covid and the lockdown. We shouldn't underestimate what that did to our physicality .... and of course our brains. Feldenkrais Aawareness Through Movement sessions online were a lifesaver for me in terms of activity and community. Such an interesting interview, thank you.

thanks for posting this great interview! Over the years, I've come to accept the fact that we cannot change others, make others believe in what I believe in, including the work I share with others. People can and will hear, see, understand what they need in their right time. Until the "right time" comes, they will not hear, see, understand whatever it is they need no matter how many times they her or see. I had known, or heard about Feldenkrais Method from several colleagues at my work, but the information did not reach me until a few years later. Not exactly sure what had shifted me so the information started reaching me, but clearly that was the "right time" for me for the information presented to me, so I started exploring this method. After the fact, I clearly understand the benefits this method offers to people because I have had direct experiences. As a practitioner, of course, we all believe how wonderful this work is, and we get frustrated when others don't understand the benefits and values it can offer. We have to remind ourselves that we would not have understood this before this method came to us in the "right time." All we can do is to continue sharing our knowledge and experiences with others without any expectations! Our words reach people in their "right time":)
