I bought a Gibson ES-335 made in Nashville with the new T-Type humbuckers in the summer of 2023. I’m a guitarist and composer of many years, and the 335 has been my main guitar for many years. Because of this, I have many 335 -of different brands- in my arsenal. In terms of Gibsons, I have a vintage 1963 335( original, not the reissue), a 1993 335 Custom Shop in amber, a 1991 ES-347, 1994 337 in cherry red and the black 335 I bought in 1993. When I went into the shop that day in the summer of 2023 I had no plans of buying a guitar, much less a 335 for obvious reasons. But when I took the guitar off the shelf and felt it’s neck, I was stunned. It was the best electric guitar neck I had ever played in my life. And when I plugged it into a Fender reissue 1965 Deluxe Reverb, there was no turning back, I knew the guitar was coming home with me. I love the sound of the T-Type pickups, and this guitar is now my #1.

This was my first les Paul. Picked it up a couple weeks ago marked down 1000$ could not be happier. (Got the sea foam green which I actually love unlike most) For all of the genre and decade jumping I do when I play. This thing is just so versatile. Wanted a Les Paul my whole guitar playing life and the modern take feels like they hit the needle on the head. As a young guy that’s an old head as well as a tech nerd.

I’m using it for home recording and like both personalities of the guitar. I’m pretty sure I can set up my HX Stomp to route the piezo to a FR amp with EQ and the mag pickups to a tube amp.

I came to this video because I am considering the mx pedal, and I am hoping to play using infinite mode and solo with reverb over the infinite effect (without the reverb from the solo adding to the infinite reverb effect). I felt like this video was very reasonable and informative, and I decided to not buy the mx. In my quest to find a reverb solution that did what I wanted, I learned that the mx actually does allow for the effect I am talking about. This video describes it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2e9iKSpfrKAodE It should work like this. Channel 1 goes to channel 2 in series. Then, set up channel 1 with the reverb settings you want for infinite mode (bloom, cloud, hall, or whatever you like). Then make sure to select freeze in the settings for channel 1's infinite type. Then, set up channel 2 with the reverb settings you want for the soloing over the infinite effect. Make sure to set channel 2's infinite setting to off. This will create an infinite reverb in channel 1 where nothing is getting added, because its frozen (just like you demonstrated). Then, because there is a whole extra reverb channel set up, the soloing goes right into that second reverb channel and sounds nice (if that is what you are going for). Seems a bit complicated, but if I understand what you were talking about in this video, I believe this solution may work for you. You should try it out if you still have the pedal and see if it fits for you.

Confusing review of this guitar, though I really appreciate a critical one instead of the usual hype and zero attention to flaws most videos like this are guilty of. I have an acoustasonic jazzmaster and I love it. I mostly play it acoustically and it is loud and sounds great to me. Also , it i the most comfortable guitar to just sit in my usual chair and practice with. I have very small weak hands, so action, comfort and size are a huge barrier with a lot of guitars. The quality of the build is fantastic for an 1800 Aussie dollar brand new purchase. The intonation is perfect, which I can't say about a lot of guitars in the cheaper price range (this is a cheap guitar. Not a budget guitar, imho). It stays in tune despite huge fluctuations in temp and humidity. The only criticism I have is the cable jack is right along the bottom exactly where it rests if I'm playing it in my arm chair. I would have to use a different chair to plug it in and play it. That's something I don't do a lot atm. It could become an issue though.

Great video. I have almost bought one of these a half dozen times and I always chicken-out when I hear about the noise. I have tons of recording gear so this would only be for farting around but that noise would make me do a header into the drywall. This is a marketing failure for the textbooks. Positive Grid has nothing on their site that I can find that even mentioned the noise and tried to head off becoming the leprosy of FRFR cabs. It's sad because it's a great design loaded with features but you would have to physically try one out of the box at a brick and mortar location to make sure it's not a sleep sound machine. Having seen your video of them sending you a bad unit (untested of course) to replace the first one made me transition from WTF to WTFF? I want to buy something that just works correctly, not become pen pals with a support person overseas that responds to me every 3 days.

Ironically, the SG Special Faded T was priced above the Std. Tribute because the finish and the materials were better quality (and I'm actually inclined to agree with that). The Faded's I've played have all been good guitars, but the Tributes have been hit or miss really. A lot of Tributes I've played simply do not have that mid hump that has gives the SG its balls, like the Faded does. That's not supposed to happen because they're supposed to have the same electronics.

Not trying to be a "know-it-all", but I think at the :16 mark in your video, you should be the fingering the 5th fret on the 3rd string, not the 7th. Which, according to the Oolimo website is an Am7.

Great guitar and great video until the end when you said you were going to flip it for 150 % of what you paid for it . Fair enterprise and all but that’s just getting over on someone , don’t we have enough of that in this world ? At $1600 , everyone would be happy and it’s not a heavy hit on anyone . Oh well , I guess that’s where we’re at in today’s world . Sadly .

As far as I can tell, the point you make in this video is incorrect, Ike. As this other video shows, you can freeze one reverb and play through another reverb: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2e9iKSpfrKAodEsi=EfbZK3CKCQ__Atgq
