All of these points are great. I think the biggest one for me, as a church EG player, is that absolutely no one is going to tell the difference. Yes, you might be able to make it sound cooler through your own ears, but no one is going to be able to tell the difference in a live setting if you have 2 algorithms playing at once, or if it’s panned certain ways. The only reason I’d consider is for recording purposes, if I wanted something the OG Bigsky couldn’t do. But is that worth $700? Probably not

Even cheap Indonesian made LTD guitars come with SS frets. If you really want a usa Strat its better value to buy a new non SS fret model and get it refretted in SS. It will still cost less.

I just purchased a used (2022) Texas Tea Stratocaster a couple of days ago and saved over $500. I used to own an American Standard Sienna Sunburst Stratocaster but had to part with it a few years ago. Hated to let it go. Now that I can “replace it” I thought to upgrade it with the Ultra. Good reviews, upgrades over the Standard and the color helped make the decision for this 70s/80s rock weekend warrior.

I’m pretty sure they got rid of it as a stand alone algorithm, but it’s still on the pedal under one of the other algorithms. I forgot which one, I want to say it’s under plate or hall.

The biggest difference is the fingerboards totally different on an ultra compound radius the fingerboard is way nicer than a turn on the n american professional and I found a brand new ultralux for 1799

You got a smoking deal my man! I recently purchased a Pro ll in vintage sunburst with a maple fretboard, but when I saw the deals Fender and GC are running for the 4th, I took the plunge and ordered a cobra blue American Ultra with a humbucker in the bridge and rosewood board. 30% off from Fender, 10% off from GC, and 10% in rewards! That's basically $600 off the regular price! I'm kinda excited!

How did you overlook the SCN pickups available around 2006? Those were what made the Deluxe a Deluxe. Incredibly versatile, and a couple steps up from Fender's N3 line.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. not WORTH $$$$$$$$$$$$$ that Gibson is asking for it. So many novice players harp on "stays in tune", "It's "special wood", etc.etc. First, there is no secret magical stash of wood. EVERY guitar manufacturer pulls from the same few companies. There are only 3 types of mahogany. Only two of those have ever been used for guitars in a production setting. And today, 99.999% of the guitar builders use the one type which is found in many places throughout the world. You hear the term "Brazilian mahogany" as if it holds some mystical properties. The truth is, it was harvested in brazil. The one type of mahogany which is used in modern times grows in many countries therefore wherever the tree is harvested, becomes included in the name somehow but in truth, it should not. There are people who use these terms to bolster the worth of their instrument but in reality it doesn't matter if the wood came from south America or asia, it's the same species. 2nd,, if you play your guitar, you will need to make fine tuning adjustments periodically as you can see EVERY guitarist do when performing. The reality of a guitar staying in tune has everything to do with the tuners, and the type bridge used and very little to do with anything else. In my opinion as a 25+ year guitar tech, no guitar should cost more than $2,000. This particular guitar which is the subject of this video should actually cost more along the lines of $1500-$1800. This is why so many working musicians are buying other brands. It's not because Gibson guitars suck, but because the prices Gibson is placing on the products is unrealistically ridiculous. If you desire a guitar which is literally worth the asking price of this guitar you need to check out Heritage Guitars. At least this company is using their hands to build the guitars it produces and placing an enormous amount of time into the process. I have tried to explain these things to people for years but human beings are very stubborn and in fact, the term narcassistic comes to mind in some examples. I mean no offense to those of you who can afford to dish out these ridiculous prices, but there's a reason the new 59 Epiphone 355 is sold out everywhere presently. The reason is, the guitar is every bit as good as the Gibson, if not better, and it is priced at $1,299.00

How many guitars do I "need"? Zero. I learned and played a LOT from 10 to 28 years old. Then all were stolen. Life pivoted. Didn't play for the next 35 years. Started again nearly a year ago at 64 years old. Now have 6 guitars. None were bought for "tone". Three are nostalgia & family pieces. The other 3 are just guitars. I play at home, in "the room", for personal enjoyment. My 6 somewhat cover your list.

I thought I was gonna get it for the impulse response but to be honest, I think connvolution reverb makes only sense when doing it on a PC with full tweakability, quick loading in and stuff. I mean if I allready have to load in a reference from a pc, why not do the verb on a pc with a more professional alogrithm (e.g.Reverence in cubase)

I have the Natural Casino. It's a MIC Epiphone. OK build, but the Chinese stock components are not great. Over a year i replaced everything. Yep, totally worth it. It now has its own voice, and its a keeper. I loved it so much that when the Made in USA Epiphone Casino came out, i bought one on the credit card! I still kept the other one thou as its not a 100 miles off. Yep, once you have them in the room you can see with the fit and finish and fine details, there still really good in there own right!

I just got one to review on my channel and it's a GREAT instrument. Our band does a lot of 90's and 2000's rock covers at our acoustic shows and I've got my pedalboard setup to be able to run the piezo output into my Fishman Aura Spectrum DI box then into one input of my fractal FM3 and then the electric output goes to another input of the FM3. I have it setup so I can toggle with a footswitch between the two and go from a really nice acoustic sound to an overdriven guitar using a Friedman amp model for lead work. This is the second import PRS SE I've gotten to review and it's 100% befitting of the price tag IMO. My old band's singer traded in his Taylor T5 when he played the SE hollow Piezo at a local music store.

My S2 McCarty 594 in Eriza Verde Smoke Burst is the first PRS I have had and I've been a die hard Gibson and Epiphone player for years. I still like the other 2 but they don't compare to the PRS. Mine has the 58/15 "S" LT pups. The "S" meaning import and I couldn't believe the PRS import pups sound better than Gibson USA pups, IMO. They are great. Mine is a 2022 model that was NOS so i got a deal om it from Chuck Levin's @ $1,400 over the Memorial Day Holiday. The newer S2's have the USA made 58/15's in them now I do believe. I don't see how they could be much better though. I mean these are already better than Gibsons.

I don't know from what planet you're from. But there are plenty of jazz boxes around at affordable prices. Try the Eastman AR322CE, D'Angelico Excel EXL-1, Epiphone Emperor Broadway, Guild Starfire II ST Dyasonic, Ibanez Pat Matheny, and PRSE SE Hollowbody. Should I go on? Hmm, maybe I'll do a show of my own that is researched instead of coming across like a cast member of SNL's "Wayne's World."
