Nice video, but you never mentioned a word about the side-woofer. Why? It even looked bigger than the two mid-range ones. I don't get it, what did I miss?

In the case of the system input power test, if the cone excursion (PR) exceeds the PR's Xmax, I believe the maximum "system input power" you need here to check, is the power required by the driver at the calculated Fs - at the affected frequency - correct? (example by 45Hz). Not the total system power, but just the power the affected driver experiences. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

PLEASE HELP ME, I AM BUYING THE VALERION, but I don't know which screen to buy, in the space I have I think a 132" one can fit, even a 150" one, but they told me that the 132" one has no seam so I think it's the best option but I don't know which one you recommend please
@ToidКүн бұрын
@@Draw777arq I’m assuming you’re getting an ALR screen? If so, then I prefer the one without the seam. If you’re looking at just a white screen, then you can go with 150 inch and not worry about a seam.

The problem with PRs is that the frequencyresponse drops off very steeply and they are difficult to calculate, more expensive too but I don't see that as an issue because if you really want build a PR woofer you simply save up and shell out that money. Its worth it. Group Delay at very low frequencies is not a problem, people who dislike PRs/BRs woofers are actually dislike the reverb and Roommodes but get it confused, put a set of PRs, BRs and CL outside and people can not tell you the difference (they might be able to tell the extended Frequencyresponse of the BRs/PRs.) @Justin 10 feet is a realistic number for big car. Measure from the windshield to the back window, that's where the Roomgain starts. @Toid More than 8db Roomgain is not realistic for a car and a shelving filter is the one to simulate RoomGain, not Linkwitz.

45W is probably referring to peak music power, not RMS. BA should be more clear about that and just state an RMS number. Regardless, for most desktop speakers that's way more power than you'll ever need. Most run at below 1W in normal use.

Yeah, definitely designed as a desktop computer system, so testing it that way makes perfect sense. They look good from the front with their glossy plastic baffles, but from the side view you realize that they are simple vinyl covered cabinets. We like to deal with higher quality items like Dayton's newest M-4 and M-6 self-powered speakers that have a beautiful finish on all sides. Still, these seem better than those "Super-Cheap" powered speakers and I'm guessing they would work just fine for a computer setup for most people, probably myself included. 100K Subs right around the corner Toid... @@xaviermontalban717 Maybe your right on that one. When this style speaker was blowing up back in the 90's, I never understood why brands never tried with mini seperates. @Toid4 күн бұрын
@@nikleiser5888 I did check with a few other peoples measurements and they are measuring the same. Although like you said, this could be a sign of them being exactly 180° out of phase. But if that is the case they would’ve manufactured multiple sets improperly.
@nikleiser58884 күн бұрын
@@Toid Multiple sets improperly either means QC problem or the engineers did something wrong with the design (which is unlikely, I guess a company got capable engineers on hand). We should point this problem out to HIVI. The volume knob at the subwoofer is a NoGo for me.
@Toid4 күн бұрын
@ definitely could be. As always if any manufacturer thinks there is an issue with my measurements or the speakers themselves, I’d be happy to go over them. And if necessary amend my review. The last thing I want to do is give out bad information. I can only give out the information that I have measured. And in this case, both of my speakers measured the same as well as known others measurements. But I know HiVi will be seeing this, so I’m sure they will tell me if they see something off.
