@@Toid Its not working for me either. Aside of that can you offer a best value tweeter for two pulp paper cone 8" woofers? I am looking for natural sound and high resolution. The woofers go up to around 12hz. They are 1970s DLK woofers.

From what i can recall, the panels are fairly thick so the truncated frame was necessary to keep the cone inside the air volume. Hope this one continues to works out for them.

I use dayton audio and ABSOLUTELY love them. I have the Bluetooth 4.5" and really enjoy them

You meant Torx screws, yeah? Does the bass boost setting default to off when unplugged? Would be good for when the remote is inevitably lost.

Would have liked to see some active filtering on these speakers, and the advertised bass extension is misleading. The finish on these new series of speakers is quite nice as is the overall build quality.

Toid - could you build a DIY version of the Wharfedale Linton using Dayton Reference driver and mid? I think this would be a home run. I would buy the plans for sure.

Would be nice to have a bit of a shelf to bring that midbass down 4 dB. These look very nice overall.

The one thing I don't like about the M6 bluetooth connectivity is that KZbin Shorts are very problematic and the audio drops out a LOT for KZbin shorts. Not too happy about that.

I have Bose 4001s and 2001s I want to upgrade the tweeters which are designed for major off axis listening. Any suggestions? I was kinda thinking a bmr would be great.
@Toid
@Toid 15 күн бұрын
@@LikelyLagging i’m not really sure what the sensitivity on those tweeters is. The big disadvantage of the BMR is it’s very low sensitivity. I would assume much lower than the current tweeters. It probably wouldn’t be a great combination.

@ yeah I’m having a hard time getting any specs for them. Apparently Bose is pretty crap about sharing that kind of stuff. Thanks for the input though!

@ yeah they’ve actually sued people before for posting frequency, response graphs or other tests. they don’t want you to know how their speakers perform

Anecoyically?
@Toid
@Toid 15 күн бұрын
@@miscreant1739 anechoically means measured in an anechoic chamber to remove all room interactions. This gives us a baseline of how a speaker performs. Ideally that would be flat when measured from 3 feet or 1 m in that environment. Once you placed those speakers in your room, you will have a downward tilting high-end. You can read up on things like estimated in room response. It’ll give you an idea of how your speakers actually measure at your listing area versus what you see in manufacturers graphs.

@@Toid yeah his point is that it's pronounced an-ECHO-ically (or rather, an-eck-O-ick-ly) .... i.e. without ECHO, not with ecoy.

Seems like your a little disappointed by dayton, otherwise I would have seen many more smiles on your face :D however being a dayton fanboy for years, yeah. They might be great. But I think I'll stick to their passive mk series.

@@LordDarthNihilus I’m sorry you got that from the video. I actually really like them. As long as you understand that they’re a little mid-heavy. Currently they’re what I’m using using for desktop monitors and I’m very happy with them.
