Very cool. I've been looking for a replacement for my older Harmony too!

I always loved Harmony. It really stunk when Logitech decided to end the harmony division. I’m really happy to see that Sofabaton has picked up where they left off.

@@Toid yeah I like mine too but it's getting so old I've wanted to find something newer to replace it.

@@Toid IKR! I've been nursing along a couple of Home Theater Master MX-500's with an IR programming interface. Was actually poised to upgrade to a Harmony when they shut down. I've always done task-based remotes and was upset that they no longer produced them.

@@dkindig There used to be so many options. It really stinks they got rid of so many. I am assuming most of them went away with the addition of CEC. But that just isn't good enough for my needs.

This is the one I personally do not need one of these. I am ok using multiple remotes, We buy these mostly for our wives, parents etc. Well this is the first remote my wife was able to use and all I did was point to the activities sections. For the first time in 22years since I built my home theater she is able to go in, watch and shut it all down without me. She told me never get rid of this remote. Epson LS12000 projector Marantz 6013 Xbox one X Apple TV 4k 3rd Gen Two activities Apple TV / Xbox The only issue I had was that I had to put the hub on top of my Marantz since the Marants has shitty IR. The extenders made it worse.

Nice....I've been wondering what I'll get when my Harmony kicks it. It's got to be 9 years old soon....
@Toid6 ай бұрын
That really is the issue. My last Harmony was the Ultimate with Hub and it didn't last very long for me. I am not sure why. But once it went, I went a while without any universal. I am glad I finally found these.

Only had mine for a couple nights coming from harmony elite, the hub or the remote itself is very slow at times with commands causing it to screw up the input settings on activities. I've restarted hub and remote several times. I would say software needs work compared to logitech but the overall feel of the remote itself is nice and I personally am fine without a touch screen as I've accidentally triggered stuff on the logitech several times just by picking it up or fumbling it

What's the mount you use around the 5:49 mark pls @Toids?

How do you like it compared to the Harmony? I have two Harmony remotes with hubs but not really that impressed with them. I never found a way to keep the volume up/down assigned to the AV10 so I constantly have to select device, do whatever control, select a different device and so on. I didn't want to have to use the, "activities" feature but maybe that's the problem. Maybe I would like the Harmony better if I go that route. Sounds like the Sofabatan does understand that the volume should be on the processor/receiver without having to use activities feature at least. That seems like an advantage over the Harmony.

I had numerous Harmony remotes over the years. The last Iused was the Harmony Ultimate with the Hub. And for some reason that one did give me issues as well. Frequent disconnects for some reason. Having said that, you can control each individual device, but you would select the device you want to control. Although that is pretty easy to do as you just use the scroll wheel. Although more advanced functions might be more cumbersome. Having said that, the best thing to do is crate activities. That is the only way I know how to assign volume to your AV10 while maintaining the rest of the functions for another device(s).

@@Toid When I get back to the states, I'll give the activities method a try, maybe that will work better for me. Eventually however I would like to get everything on Home Assistant and have a tablet with all the regularly used controls for each device on one dashboard.

I still can't believe Logitech let Harmony die. Sell it someone else for a dollar.

Yeah it really stunk.i had so many different Harmony remotes. But I’m glad to see Sofabaton continuing to carry the torch

a charging dock would be nice - much easier just to drop a remote onto a dock then to be fumbling around getting a connector in
@Toid6 ай бұрын
I do agree with this. And if I didn’t have the Weilianda theater seats, then I would absolutely want a dock. In fact, I’d really like one in my living room and kids game room. Great call

I was ready to buy this, and then you said "no voice search". Whooahhhhh there, pardner. That's how my kids search for everything. No voice, no buy.
