Is adzuki bean same as kidney bean and what are the differences?
@Healthytarian
@Healthytarian Ай бұрын
No, Adzuki beans are not the same as kidney beans. They are a completely different variety or type of bean. The differences are many, just like between any other varieties, ranging from color, shape, size, cooking time, and flavor. Nutritionally, most beans have a very similar nutrient profile.

I have a question that feels very on top here about protein, the idea that we need lets say 50grams of protein a day is surely predicated on a certain about of activity. Does that mean if you do very intense physical work or persue something like bodybuilding this number needs to be higher for recovery and muscle development? or is that increase protein needed for recovery still going to lead to the same problems regardless of if your body needs it or not. Basically what im asking is if you use the protein is it still contributing to these problems?
@Healthytarian
@Healthytarian Ай бұрын
If too much protein is being consumed it is still too much protein to the body. Protein is not used like calories, where it is "burned" or used with more physical activity. Protein from food, also, must be processed FIRST before it is used. This is a large part of where the health risks come from. Protein is used along with other nutrients, as your body needs it and how it deems it most appropriate. And loading up on protein is not a wise thing to do, as it is not stored like "calories" or "energy" in the body. Extra protein, like any other extra nutrient will eventually be converted into fat as well, if one is eating too many calories of any kind for their needs. For more information about this topic, please refer to the following resources about protein and muscle building or physical activity where I explain how to balance this in a healthy manner: 1. www.evolvingwellness.com/post/how-much-protein-is-needed-for-different-activity-levels-on-a-plant-based-diet 2. www.evolvingwellness.com/post/is-a-plant-based-diet-good-for-athletes-and-bodybuilders 3. www.healthytarian.com/post/protein-in-plant-foods

@@Healthytarian this is very interesting and I appreciate the response. I've been eating between 150-180 grams of protein for 8-9 years at this point and going the gym alot. There's this insane idea in the gym community that no matter how big you get it doesn't matter as long as it's muscle 😂 over the last few years I've started to see just how radical it is. I have decided to dial my meat consumption down radically as of late but I did want to ask where wholegrain breads and whole grain pastas stand in regards to healthy eating. I've found sources of bread with only 4 ingredients and pasta with just wheat and I wondered if this refinement of grain is still unhealthy even though it has the same fibre content as unground wheat
@Healthytarian
@Healthytarian Ай бұрын
@@lulusehnihpi8901 You are very welcome. Things such as whole breads with minimal ingredients and pure whole grain pastas are a controversial topic themselves due to everybody's dietary preferences and strong ideas these days. For some people, they are a wholesome and healthy part of their diet, while others shun all processed grains as part of whole food, plant-based eating or many other diets. It all depends on the person's nutritional and health understanding and their personal health priorities and dietary preferences. In such cases, it is best to pay attention to your body and how it responds when you eat these items, as well as examine the overall quality of your diet. If someone is basing their diet on such items, that is not a good idea. But if such items are part of a whole food, plant-based diet that is high in fruits and vegetables and beans/legumes, they may be a suitable addition.

No, it is not Michelle. Juices and smoothies are two completely different end products. To make a juice, you would use a juicer. To make a smoothie, you would use a blender.

I often get discouraged when watching American cooking videos because there are so many appliances that I don't have and even so much canned or frozen food that I can''t get in Argentina. This was the most knowledgeable and impactful juicing video I have watched. That's exactly what I was looking for. I just watched the video and made my first smoothie with spinach, chia seeds, pineapple, banana and water (to the instructions in the video) And it's absolutely incredible. The consistency and taste is better than the booster juice and the cost savings and health with this one speaks for itself🙏🏻 Thank you so much for this video!!
@Healthytarian

You are super welcome and thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback and personal experience! Quick health note: juicing to make juices and blending to make smoothies are two very different processes that make two very different products. Juicing does not make smoothies. Juices are extracts of water-rich fruits or vegetables that lack fiber, whereas smoothies are liquid foods that maintain the whole nutrient integrity of the whole fruit and vegetable, including their fiber. You will, therefore, get very different consistencies and flavors between juices and smoothies, as they are not the same things. (I am not sure what Booster Juice offers, but if I recall correctly they offer both juices and smoothies for people to choose from.) So whether at home or in a restaurant, be sure to notice whether you are interested in having a juice or having a smoothie, as they are very different and serve different functions. All the best with your health journey!

Hi, and thank you much. What role does blood type play in eating plant based foods as far as not eating certain plants because of blood type.
@Healthytarian
@Healthytarian 2 ай бұрын
You are very welcome and thank you for watching. With regard to blood type diets, they serve no role in plant-based eating or in any truly healthy eating because they go against the natural order of things and nature itself. The blood type diet became a fad diet, just like many others, which has major flaws in its logic and application. From a biological and evolutionary perspective, humans in nature have no test for their blood type. They ate what is local, what is seasonal, and what is optimal for their animal species as a whole. Humans thrive on whole plant foods, and the more we eat local and seasonal whole plant foods, the better. The healthier our bodies are, the more they are able to digest all whole plant foods well without any allergies, intolerances, or other issues. The key is to heal our bodies to be able to eat as naturally as possible. Best wishes!

Please be sure to examine all parts of your diet and lifestyle to address your GERD condition. While quinoa is a healthy food and can be eaten by anyone with any condition, it is important not to eat it with heavy or unhealthy foods that can trigger your GERD, like oils, heavy fats, meat, and any heavily processed foods.

@tonyartis552 : I always chewed or sucked on the pomegranate seeds to get at the juice but then spit out the seeds. I found the seeds bothered my teeth and was afraid my fillings would fail. I also wondered if swallowing the seeds would cause them to get stuck in my intestines. Was never taught how to eat them properly. We only had them for Christmas or winter holidays because they were so expensive.
@Healthytarian
@Healthytarian 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience with pomegranates. While the whole arils of the pomegranate, including the seeds, are very healthy to consume, if a person has weak teeth, such as large fillings or other major dental work, then they may need to refrain from eating any such "seedy" foods for the integrity of keeping your dental work in good condition.

What about weight gain
@Healthytarian
@Healthytarian 2 ай бұрын
Weight gain is not going to happen from consuming green smoothies or eating their basic fruit and vegetable ingredients in whole form. Weight gain happens from the 4 most common causes: 1. Eating too many calories / too much food daily for one's metabolic needs. 2. Eating the wrong foods, namely processed food full of sugars and oils and devoid of nutrients; fast food; junk food; and lots of animal foods, like meat and dairy. 3. Stress that causes your hormones and other body functions to go out of balance. 4. As a side effect of certain pharmaceutical medications.
