Thank you for the video! I’m 28 male. Had 2 bad concussions in 2017 and PCS ever since. A girl I was dancing with last night bumped my head and I feel a little off. Not sure if it’s from the anxiety around the past or acted my symptoms up.

6-24-24 I was picking up some trash and as I was raising back up I fainted and fell backwards and the back of my head slammed against the concrete floor of parking garage. I spent 7 hours in emergency at Kaiser Cadillac and did several blood test and a CAT Scan and they said that they couldn't find anything critical. I followed up on 6-28-24 with my primary dr. and he re-ran all the test and concluded that I had a severe concussion. He took me off work until mid July and will re-evaluate me then. I will feel unsure of my equilibrium and sometimes can't focus. Thank you for posting these video, because of them i know what I am warring with and what weaons I need to fight with. My headache is persistently painful so much so that I need to take anti inflamatories and painkillers yet i cannot spend time bending over to do a task as this increases my pain. I was diagnosed with a small hematoma and whiplash but honestly i think I should've had a CT scan.

Good afternoon, I don't know if you're seeing comments on this specific video anymore, but let's go. 6 days ago, someone elbowed me in the back center of my head, it was a very mild pain, no wounds were created on the head and my head moved a few centimeters forward, but as I have OCD that worry kept bothering me. Since shortly after impact. Later, about 20 minutes later, I started to feel dizzy, along with a small pain at the base of my neck that intensified when I swallowed something. And now here I am, with mild cognitive issues, not knowing if a concussion actually happened or if it was my damn OCD. If you can answer, it will really ease my mind. Thanks.

It could have been a concussion or it may not have been. But even if it was, the injury heals within the first few weeks. Persistent symptoms however are due to other factors (mental health being one of them). So, whether there was an injury or not, the persistent symptoms are NOT due to ongoing brain injury but rather other factors...which are all treatable. Check out the rest of the videos in this series to understand more.

Technically then if you don’t have a serious tbi then isn’t it not technically an “injury” since there is no actually “brain damage” or loss of brain cells? Could you clarify this?

you said that we are not vulnerable to less force .. but this video means that you are more vulnerable to less force after recovery ? i got my concusion 9 months ago and less force hit to head like a month ago causes headache and anxiety for months like my first concusion
@CompleteConcussions
@CompleteConcussions 7 күн бұрын
The research (so far) indicates that you are not more vulnerable to concussions if you've had one in the past. There is concern about potential vulnerability in the first few weeks after injury. But 9 months later there is no increased concussion susceptibility. If you get a minor hit that results in a symptom relapse this typically points to unresolved issues under the surface - this video explains that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2KWaaF3l5eWkKc

@@CompleteConcussions thanks for replying back doctor 🤚🏻 , last question when you say potential vulnerability after few weeks from first concusion , is it two weeks or 3 weeks or 4 weeks ? because i got hit again from countertop after 4 weeks from first concussion and symptoms came back !
@CompleteConcussions
@CompleteConcussions 6 күн бұрын
@@thefutureh it's kind of a sliding scale - around 1 week is worse than 2 weeks and 2 weeks is worse than 3 weeks and 3 weeks is worse than 4 weeks - and generally by around 4 weeks the metabolic recovery has typically occurred

😮 I was walking thru my kitchen, and I lost my footing I knew I was falling and screaming as I went down. My head hit the floor and bounced . I felt like I would not get up again. I did very slowly. I have a bad black eye now. I fell on my left side and the top side of my head temple was bruised. I will never forget how strange I felt. This happened the other day and I went to dr the next day. Still recovering 😮

Excellent explanation. Question: When riding a bicycle, a helmet can prevent skull fracture, but does not prevent concussions. According to your research, concussion/whiplash is more a neck injury. Prevention of bicycling head injuries/concussions could be as simple as a a helmet with protective neck collar (@~16:09)?? Thoughts?

WHAT about the persons "FINGERS" during the Fencing Response?? Friends & I were just watching some fight vids, then we (Somehow, who knows, lol) ended up watching vids about (Insanely Stupid) "Slap Fighting", where they showed a man on his back supposedly showing "The Fencing Response", BUT, they mainly seemed to point out/highlight the fact his HAND or FINGERS were pointing weird, Obviously part of this Fencing Response, But, is THAT a main sign?? Just seems strange otherwise as to WHY they would highlight the Hands/Fingers & said it was The Fencing Response.?!?!

It's important that exercise be done in the proper way. If symptoms are increasing with exercise, it means that you are exceeding your threshold. If you want some help and guidance with this and other concussion issues/sympotms, consider joining our Concussion Fix program! It provides a step-by-step guide to walk you through all these areas where patients have trouble.
