What causes the fuzzy or tingly tongue ? I had very serious work injuries from carry heavy weight 3 days a week for 16 years. Then I got rear ended at a stoplight. All of my injuries I have dealing with have been aggravated more now. I have a lot of problems with memory, when I got hit I had a burning in around the belly button and stomach. Feeling nauseous. Remembering what I am doing from one thing to the next. Starving in the eyes at times. My entire body was so compressed from the lifting I was doing. Impingement of nerves. I feel like I am walking on nerves. Lost the arch in my foot from the over pronation. I have been seeing Doctors for over 2 years. After the accident everything is worse. I can go to work. But I can’t take of my home anymore. I am so tired. I don’t take medications, I don’t want that. I don’t want the surgery’s they tell me I need. I am terrified of that. People look at you with that deer in the headlights look. I have always been a worker. I don’t want to stop. What can I do ?

I recently hit my head at the gym. So my question is, can the neck generate enough g force to cause a concussion? I swung my neck back onto the squat machine seat too hard and got a headache that’s lasted for a few days.

I have had 6 head concussion's. Last one was 5 year's ago. Today I still have ringing in my ears, headache's, neck pain, nausea, balance walking, problems sleeping, memory both long and short term, eye's blurry. The 1st 6 mos I would enter a room in my house and would not recognize where I am. Three times this has happen to me. I went to my V.A. Neurologist and she told me to stop taking pain reliever o.t.c. medicine for my headache's. On my 2nd trip she said I had dementia. She gave me Donepezie. 😶🌫

Is it possible to get a concussion from swinging your neck too far back and hitting a squat machine head pad? The back of my head hurts a day later.

I’m a 54 yo female who was hit from behind by a downhill skier going high speed. I was thrown and hit my head first, then flipped to my back and hit it again. Now I know why I saw stars. Thank goodness I was wearing a helmet. It could have been so much worse. Two weeks later I’m still having pretty severe symptoms ranging from headache, ringing in ears, trouble focusing, emotional, confusion. I’m starting concussion therapy next week. Thanks for these helpful videos.

So helpful, thank you! A week after my concussion I went to the gym with a headache and did the stationary bike for 40 minutes, my symptoms started to improve after that; I think the blood flow really did help and endorphins are a natural pain killer! I've been doing stationary bike all week and maybe in a few days, exactly two weeks after my concussion, I can try light jogging.

If you have a concussion with brief loss of consciousness and it heals after a week and you are otherwise healthy, do you normally expect normal DTI results?

not right away. It takes some time for these "changes" to dissipate. But we don't know what they mean bc they don't correlate with symptoms at all...sooooo

I really like what you are doing here, but when your video is called neck treatment and you don't start talking about neck treatment for 29 minutes, you might want to think about getting a proper film maker involved, instead of just turning on the old camera and starting talking. Even if you record this and get a professional editor to tighten up the repeats, it will be far more effective. This could have been a very powerful 12 minute video. Just sayin'. Thanks.

I had a concussion around 2 .5 months ago - I AM 79.5 Yrs. old. I was feeling much better as of about 2 weeks ago and then I got a shingles attack which caused me to devolve into a worse condition. I think it is over now but I am so worried, wondering if I will ever recover now? Some of the dizziness has returned - not anywhere near as in the beginning.

Whenever I exercise my symptoms get worse long term, I’m pretty sure it’s stacking. If I exercise on day 1, my symptoms will increase the typical way about 3 points (20 mins low level cardio), however over the next few days my brain and thoughts will feel overwhelming. Especially when I’m trying to sleep, it feels like I’m going crazy. What can I do to get better in this case? I’m just getting worse with exercise and unable to improve without exercise?! I miss feeling normal and being able to lift weights.
@CompleteConcussions20 күн бұрын
You're doing it wrong. If you exercise, your symptoms should not be increasing at all. You are supposed to challenge the threshold with a treadmill test to find out what your threshold is - which is your HR when the symptoms increase by 3. Once you figure out what this is, then for the next two weeks your exercise is supposed to be at 80-90% of that threshold (meaning below the HR at which you get symptoms). Then after a couple weeks, you get re-tested to see what your new threshold is and then exercise at 80-90% of that. If you are hitting your threshold every time you exercise it will give you the exact results you are reporting.

I smacked my head pretty hard on a cabinet in my kitchen and was concussed. I had a headache, light sensitivity, dizziness, etc...the day after it happened I went to work and I felt so tired, could hardly keep my eyes open, my pc monitor kept giving me headaches and made me nauseous. When I went down to the plant floor the lights were super bright and almost like they moved some and when I stood still I felt as if I am on a boat. This was 6 months ago and to this day I am still dealing with it thanks to PCS. How is it possible I was concussed just by moving my head and smacking it into that kitchen cabinet? Is it possible my fast movement caused that much force that I had such a freak accident that has altered my life so much?

Ive been struggling with post concussion symptoms for nearly 18 months. I feel like all i do is sleep. Im back to work but at a different job wear the bright lights dojt wffect me nearly as much. I was working as a medical assistant in a clinic that was inside our local hospital. I just cant do the lights anymore. I went to a concussion specialist in ann arbor MI at U of M. I was told to take magnesium and vitamin B2 daily along with zofran and meclizine as needed. And rest rest rest. Ive gained 50lbs since this started. I was on a weight loss journey when my head injury occured and weight 165 at 5"6. Now im 215lbs. Its freaking ridiculous. I have 2 young daughters, 2 young dogs, a job and husband, a life. I feel like my head injury is stealing my time from my family while theyre young. Im only 33. This video is the 1st time anyones ever explained it like this as to why my symptoms get worse and i feel like my heads going to explode with exercise. Ive been terrified to work out. Because i was told by my dr that if i work out again and feel that intense pressure then i should go to ER. Well, naturally i dont it to get that bad nor do i care to get that miserabke feeling again or waste all that time in the ER away from my family with blood work and imaging just for them to basically tell me to take it easy and rest. Screw that BS. So ive just been trying to ignore it and live my life and its just not gling away. This video was so helpful. Thank you so much!

After 2.5 years of dealing with post concussion symptoms (headaches, blurred vision, chronic fatigue, difficulty driving without increased symptoms, poor visual memory, trouble finding words etc) I was evaluated by a neuro optometrist and had a wide variety of concussion related problems. After starting vision therapy and the support of prism lenses I almost all symptoms have disappeared, I'm progressing wonderfully in my therapy and I feel like myself again! A few other post concussion friends have had the same awesome results. Nice to see this topic being discussed.

Can I have cranial osteopathy ? I’m not sure if I’ve had a concussion but I had a bump to the head a few weeks ago. Problem is I’ve had strange dizziness , tingling etc for a few years (long covid)
@CompleteConcussionsАй бұрын
I can't tell anyone directly what they can and can't do - but I can say that cranial osteopathy is quite safe. The other question however is how helpful it will be for dizziness - this is usually more neck related, vestibular, or visual in nature. So although safe, may not do much in terms of your symptoms
