While perhaps not the first, technically; it is still the BEST example of a species who's natural selection is determined by coolness instead of survival.

This is fascinating. I wonder if those two bottom bits were exchanged with each other and a length extension were added if that would work well.
@MrCharlesdick11 күн бұрын
The relevant question that raises is if the length extension should be added to the proximal bit or the distal bit.

This is really very scary. If I was alone on a beach and saw one of it coming towards me, I would sh*t myself.

If it was revealed that Theo was a wizard and the Strandbeest were some magical construct, I wouldn't doubt, because those beers move in a magical way.

These are among the most astonishing and mechanically beautiful things I've seen! I marvel at the great mind that imagined and then brought into being these amazing pieces of engineering.

@@ingridwatsup9671 Not the crappy 2000's + star wars movies, but I could imagine these things in the background of older movies. They'd look awesome, just a giant worm thing crawling across the desert

So basically he's made a computer out of wind and tubes. Absolutely genius. This man is so incredibly intelligent and skilled. Thinking we didnt even need electricity for computers all this time. Modern Da Vinci.

Hi, if you build a new configuration of lines for a new leg, you can use telescoping tubes and make it have sideways dimensions, then wear it on your leg and walk, the telescoping parts will optimize to your own walking pattern~

I cannot even begin to understand how he does this… i am both perplexed and in AWE. His strandbeesten come from a far future and are made with the same materials as Leonardo da Vinci… to me , they are walking cathedrals, totally stunning!!!
