Jane Austen is in my family tree as an ancestor . Was so shocked to have her there I checked it was correct many times. Want to visit in person one day so thanks for the video.

also, I asked one of the guides in the cathedral, if she's actually buried there, she is, her remains are only a foot deep under the black stone!

having visited Winchester twice, recently back in April, I was shouting at the screen where Jane Austen's shrine is... haha so lovely to watch it here too Paul, Winchester is one of my most favourite places!! love it!! the Cathedral is superb!!

If she is buried there ..she has nothing written for her like the rest of the family..why her brother said she is on an island then her brothers made alot of money for visitors coming to his home to make money ..why not tell the public where she was so the church could benefit from visitors

God I miss these people, my brother and I watched with our gran, I don't get comedy these days, bring back the 70s and 80s

Lovely Winchester, my home town. I can literally see the cathedral from my house. Haven't been in there for a long time but went regularly for school outings.

I was a child at the time & enjoyed his program's & Morph. Losing the use of his hands must be like a singer losing their voice. I feel for him. He came across as a very nice person. Clearly VERY talented.

Two Danish Kings of England are buried in Winchester Cathedral⚔⚔🏹🛡.

My partner & I visited his grave & recorded a video recording in his memory.

The ticket is a yearly pass, although I doubt many are able to take advantage of that. I visited in 2009, it was £6.

St John's House was built in 1209, the church in 1190's ( in place of the original wooden one from about 605). The monument in the church is Sir Thomas Neale his two wives and their children. From what I can find on him he was auditor of the exchequer under queen Elizabeth.
