i was born and raised in the pacific northwest on the puget sound and there's so many things about your home that are exactly like my childhood home! the a-frame wood ceilings with rectangular built in skylights and we always had (and my parents still do) a hammock just likes yours between the two trees in our front yard. there was often a bucket under the skylights in the bathroom and hallway because if there was heavy rainfall, water would leak through the corners of the window frames so hopefully that hasn't been a problem. so cool to see the similarities in two homes on opposite sides of the country! our home was built in 1976 and my parents replaced the original orange carpeting two years ago that was across the majority of the house. it made sense as it was worn out, but the classic orange carpet still has a special place in my heart and of course, the popcorn ceilings too lol

i can appreciate you sharing your point of view…but we will just have to agree to disagree with the notion of wallpaper as a dying trend. I think the usage of wallpaper is timeless (although some styles can be dated) and seen as an art form and attention to beautiful patterns often used with interior designers in the UK rather than home enthusiasts. Good video though although i respectfully have a different view on one of the items on your list.

I’ve been watching your videos for over 7 years at this point and your interior design content is my absolute favorite!!

I know it can be so tempting to use roundup but it really is pretty awful (particularly since you have dogs!) Some alternatives are agricultural vinegar on a sunny day, flame weeding (which will take care of the seed bank too, just wet down the edges of the grass), or for easier manual weeding get a hula hoe if haven’t already!

A couple of videos ago you highlighted one of my comments regarding the oversaturation of disingenuous MCM styling and the importance of timelessness and authenticity (you said you loved the comment) and I never got around to thanking you for that! So thank you, haha. Really enjoyed this video and found a lot of the interiors you highlighted to be really refreshing. I honestly find it weirdly hard to find interiors that seem authentic and innovative, so many seem to play it safe and placate to a mass audience (there are so many nice interiors, but even more not-so-nice interiors). Some of my favourite interiors ever aren't fashioned by a dedicated interior designer, but rather an architect. More specifically - architect's of the mid century. Le Corbusier, Mies, Frank Lloyd Wright. I think it may be due to their pragmatic approach to interior design that is trickling down from their pragmatic architecture. A pet peeve of mine is when I see functional objects used purely as decoration; books used for their covers, an uncomfortable chair as a sculpture. This is all just a matter of opinion, just my two cents. If you have the time I highly recommend looking at the interiors of "Casa Barragan" by Luis Barragan. My most recent obsession. I love it so much.

Kailee, I've been following your channel since you were in high school and, I must say, you look so light and free, in a way I haven't seen in quite a bit. Many people are afraid to give up certain things because, but it is often when we have the courage to let go that life truly rewards. I really hope things keep looking up for you, even if this is an emotionally conflicting time. As for your TMJ; I have bruxism, which is a bit different, but I was diagnosed at the start of the year (I had a really bad flare up) and have been wearing a mouth guard at night for a few months. The cracking and stiffness have not gone away quite yet, nor have I stopped grinding my teeth during the day, but I definitely wake up with a much more relaxed jaw. Maybe this could help too? You should definitely have a chat with your dentist, if you haven't yet. All the best x
