there are people testing durability, hardness and uv protection comparing these products now too and actually the superclear 2.0 is actually some of the best stuff on the market in all categories, outperformed the totalboat too.

A lathe isn't going to ensure it's perfectly round Seth; while I applaud your effort, you should use a router and a jig.

Pardon my ignorance i thought quarter sawn was horizontal grain? I get quarter sawn boards for axe handles for this purpose

Question, in the Virginia Tech PDF it states the size of the kiln is integral for the internal temperature to not get too hot. Because yours is quite small have you run into that issue?
