You ever think of putting keel guard ‘gator guard’ on the kayak?

I can’t understand why I can’t steer at all. Launched for two mins and had to pack up everything. It just keeps going in circles. The white lines appear to be good. I feel like it’s the black line going to the rudder. Does the black line simply pull it up and deploy it or does it steer it?

I’m thinking of throwing an A-Rig surf fishing for stripers … I heard that there’s a guy in my area ( Hermosa Beach ) throwing them in the surf and catching monster stripers! 🏄🏼♂️🎣🤙🏻

As a big guy, I've been able to do the same stuff on pretty much any sit on top fishing kayak. It's not the best test of stability. Try learning, like you dropped a rod in the water and tried to grab it, that's a much better stability test. Also as a big guy myself, if I put one foot on one side of a PA14, it will flip if I don't shift my weight quickly or step off. The height of the hull combined with the extra width makes this a problem where on my old Bonafide SS127, I could put one foot on one side all day long. The PA14 has great initial stability, but once it hits the point of no return, it will go. Just be smart - some people think they're unflippable and they're always the ones who flip on the water and lose all their gear.

@@RomanCastroVlog Six years is a good run. At shelter, do people ever launch from the sand next to the boat launch?
@RomanCastroVlog3 ай бұрын
Yes. You can launch from there but it can get a little rough with the boat wakes. It's better to launch at the ramp. Here is how to do it without scratching your kayak... kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZKrfZ6Jf7qWq7csi=0cH9ljEbhfBymWek

Bro what kind of go pro mount is that and where did you buy it?
@RomanCastroVlog3 ай бұрын
Hi Juan, do you mean the one in front of the kayak? The Hobie PA14 has a round slot in the front for a sail. Ram mounts has an adapter that has a part that lodges in there and gives you a 1.5 inch ram ball. From there it’s just more Ram Mount parts.1.5” to 1” adapter is the big one.

Why don't you show an actual harder surf launch. That one looks pretty easy.

Best tutorial ever. Thank you guys. Just have one question. What if you cut your dropper loop (instead of having to lines going to a hook you have one) in this case you will also prevent a twisting.
@RomanCastroVlog9 ай бұрын
Hi @lenlvovsky, Do you mean like with a 3 way swivel? That would work great and you would avoid twisting. It's a good idea.
