For example, you can bond 2 Ethernet ports, but it is not the same. 2.5 Gbps ethernet would be better.

@@sybren-srb Currently have 1 Gbit fiber SFP connectivity between my house and my partners home/office building. The IP Cams alone around and in that office run close to 100 Mbit running 24/7. Add in the NAS/Backup Server in the home and streaming its easy to cap out that link as we track it with librenms. You would be surprised how much throughput you can get on a 160 Mhz channel even on a 2 stream device.

I really don't get you guys ... please explain the missing 2.5G or SFP+ Port. Do i need to build a 3 Port Port-channel only to meet the throughput of the 4x4 Wifi? Please do not update the cAP ax or wAP ax if you not putting MU-MIMO in it - it would not be a reason to buy. The recent wAP ax did not convinced me to go WiFi 6 even with AX3000 which cAP ax does not have.

I was thrilled to see this on my page, but the lack of 2.5GbE port really kills it. Hap ax3 has 2.5gb port and ax1800. This one has faster wireless ax3000, but slower port for uplink = not worth it.

"This one has faster wireless ax3000" - it doesn't have faster wireless. I don't know a single client device that has 4x4. Almost all modern laptops and mobile devices use 2x2, which hAP ax3 covers. There is an argument to make that it might be able to handle more concurrent clients but you won't see "faster wireless"

@@aliancemdlol yes that’s true I thought it supports 160mhz so for example iPhone 15 pro with 2x2 mimo would work. Still I think 2,5gb port in such device is a requirement

It's not on FCC, so, most likely, it won't be anytime soon. Chateau PRO ax has been on FCC for ~4 months+, for example.

Sooo ... while I'm switching to MikroTik switches and routers everywhere it seems for wifi I still need to stay at the Unifi devices. MikroTik is waaay to slow getting to the new wifi standards. I mean..: Wifi 7 is out for so long now and they're still releasing one Wifi 6 device after another without any signs that there's a Wifi 7 device coming soon. :(

That's what we're doing, deploying Mikrotik across our clients but if there's a need for good quality wifi we put Unifi. Mikrotik's wifi is just annoying to work with, especially CAPsMan it just plain sucks. Only clients that have wifi issues are those with Mikrotik wifi. Also i'm not counting on Mikrotik jumping on Wifi 7 train any time soon.

@@XtrAMassivE For my cases a MikroTik not solve problems, this cases was not solve, for me a MikroTik works until you use a device who have problems :) I know it's definistion of not work :). But some security alarm systems cannot take dhcp re-lease, some card terminals cannot connect and we only see in debug wifi 1line that mac try connect and nothing more - we cannot solve that problems by years and we just use unifi as standard bcs it's just work with anything what client have.

I bought one of these changed from ax3 to chateau ax pro but i feel wifo performance of the ax3 is better. The AX3 has a better range as well as the wifi itself is more stable. The whole family complains wifi just stops with the Chateua AX Pro. I guess its newer so maybe some bugs to fix

Mikrotik need to line up with other vendors in some equipment. Wifi 7, ap wifi 7 with poe in and 2.5 gb port. Switch with 2.5gb poe port. Latest switch has br++ with tons of power budget but .. when use this power if has only gb port. Other useful equipemnt to bring up is 8 port with 2.5 gb and poe. Refresh version of crs326-16gb (new modern cpu, internal psu, remove swos and some ram ) will be other nice thing like hex refresh

So the less capable hap AX^3 which should be the pro / flagship device has 2.5Gbps interface and this one which fills the hap AX^3 gaps doesn’t? You also market the new capsman but the highest end wifi device is in desktop form factor and no multi gig…?! Serious guys, the whole product lineup needs to be rethought. This is not true at least for wAP ax - according to official site, its max wireless throughput is 1200 Mbps, which means 1x160 MHz or 2x80 MHz.

Isn't this video proof that MikroTik admitted to slowing down WiFi due to too little RAM in other devices? This would explain why the loaded OpenWRT has better wifi on the same hardware. I hope this is not like with RB951 when a CPU limit us with WIFI speed and anyone not say about that limitation, new we discover that RAM have matter.

Weakish CPU and almost no RAM (RAM prices are SO cheap) with outdated radio tech. WiFi 7 still hasn’t been ratified yet afaik but it is already the new standard since the spec has been finalized (Ubiquiti just released WiFi 7 devices). If this is your best WiFi offering you guys are behind the curve. WiFi 7 is a huge improvement there’s no reason to be releasing new WiFi 6 products at this point-especially as your top of the line offering. Oof. Love your products but this one is a miss and sadly isn’t going to sell very well unless you make the price like 50 USD.
